ARCHIE -- Norma Gene Archie, 69, passed away on June 15, 2009. Norma was born March 18, 1940 in Abilene, TX, the daughter of Dorothy and James Littles. Norma Littles was married to J.B. Archie on November 2, 1958, in Snyder, Texas. They relocated to Albuquerque in 1960. She worked at Albuquerque Public Schools as a cafeteria manager until she retired in 1990. Survivors include her husband, J.B. BRAND -- Bernadette Gunn Brand, 68, the loving mother of five children, passed away on June 15, 2009 after a long illness. She is survived by two daughters, Darleen Kosick and Lisa Brand; three sons, Tom Kosick, Scott Brand, and Michael Brand, all of Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived by her twin sister Eileen Stewart of Albuquerque, NM; her sister, Dorothy O'Sullivan of New Jersey; her brother Walter Gunn of North Carolina; seven grandchildren; along with many other loving family members and friends. DUBUQUE -- Frances M. Dubuque, age 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1987, died Sunday, June 14, 2009. Her final days were spent quietly at home, surrounded by her family and in their tender care. Her precious husband, Roger, preceded her in death in 1999. Frances is survived by her eight children, Nancy Talbot (Richard), Mark Dubuque, and David Dubuque of Ware, MA, Joyce Rosen (David) in Springfield, MA, Peter Dubuque (Veronica Marsh) in E. Hardwick, VT, Paul Dubuque (Amy) in Schertz, TX, and Marianne Billiot and Teresa Dubuque (Paul Houston) in Albuquerque; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren, scattered all around the country. Frances will be mourned by many dear friends and relatives, including her sisters-in-law, Helen Kularski, Theresa Kularski and Claire Graves. Frances was a woman of great strength and genuine humility. She loved life and lived simply and honestly, working hard for her family. She never sought the limelight, rather, she supported others and cheered their accomplishments. Despite childhood hardships and the challenges of raising a large family, she rarely complained. Instead, Frances pressed on -- doing whatever was necessary, whatever the circumstance. She handled her many responsibilities with humor, resiliency, practicality and creativity -- sustained by her deep faith. Truly, she was a woman of noble character who will be keenly missed. A Service of Remembrance will be held Thursday, June 18, 2009, 6:00 p.m. at French - Wyoming Chapel. A Memorial Rosary and Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 19, 2009, 1:00 p.m., at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment will be held at Mt. FLORENCE -- Alexander James "Andy" Florence, born on January 1, 1949 in Philadelphia, PA, raised in Roswell, NM and Big Spring, TX passed away on June 13, 2009, following a brief illness. A graduate of Texas Tech University, Andy spent the past 30 years making life better for the developmentally challenged in Lubbock, TX and New Mexico. In his youth, Andy was an accomplished equestrian. He enjoyed travel, exploring the wilderness, visiting with family and friends. Everyone who knew him enjoyed his sharp wit and intellect. Andy is survived by four siblings, Tim Florence of Tijeras, NM, Paige Hamner of Tucson, AZ, Hugh Florence of Bloomingdale, MI and Ridge Florence of Tucson, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents Jean Florence of Roswell, NM & Quentin Florence of Linden, TX; and sister Linda Kerry Brown. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2009 7:00 p.m. at Direct Services, 2919 4th NW. GONZALES -- Elsie G. Gonzales, 78, a resident of Albuquerque entered into rest on June 16, 2009. Mrs. Gonzales is survived by her husband, Mr. Florencio Gonzales; three children, Lilly Kutzscher and husband, Richard, Johnny Vigil and Adelina Vigil; two stepchildren, Rudy Gonzales and Mike Gonzales and wife, Janice; three sisters, Frances Vigil, Elma Espinoza and husband, Alfred, and Sylvia Baca and husband, Boni; brother, Cayetano Garcia and wife, Vicky; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. JOHNSON -- John "Johnny" Andrew Johnson, Jr., a native of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ Saturday, June 13, 2009. He is survived by his loving parents, John Andrew, Sr. and Marion Anding Johnson; brother, Harold Anding Johnson; cousins, Vernon Pleasant and wife, Sally, Virginia LaCharite and husband, Raymond, Jeannie Chunn and husband, Bob, and Cyrus C. Johnson III and wife, Kathy; best friend, Jim Davis; and a multitude of caregivers, therapists, aides and friends who so lovingly and graciously touched his life and who in turn were blessed to be included on his nightly and lengthy prayer list. He was preceded in death by sister, Janell Johnson; paternal grandparents, Cyrus Cleveland and Mary Pippin Johnson; maternal grandparents, Claude Ellis and Lucille Bell Anding; and aunts and uncles, Dr. Cyrus C. Johnson II and wife, Jean, Claude Ellis Anding Jr. and wife, Virginia, Harold Bell Anding, Janie Anding Pleasant and husband, Sessions, Nell Anding Pickett and husband, Haley Aubrey. He enjoyed many years of being a part of First Baptist Church of Albuquerque. Johnny so much appreciated his adult day care center, Share Your Care, and looked forward to attending X-Factor Church. A victor over cerebral palsy, he was able to walk with the aid of braces and crutches until confined after a stroke to a wheelchair at the age of twelve, but walks and even soars today on the streets of gold in his Heavenly Father's house. Having savored gospel music in this world, today he delights at the heavenly chorus. LOPEZ -- Ninfa (Jimenez) Lopez, a longtime resident of Las Cruces, NM passed away Friday, June 12, 2009 in Albuquerque, NM at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her husband Juan Antonio (J.A. Tony) Lopez; and siblings, Ruth Jimenez, William Jimenez, David Jimenez and Tony Jimenez. Ninfa is survived by her daughter, Beverly Lopez and husband, Joseph Buday; granddaughters, Areth and Callan Buday; her siblings, Ernest Jimenez and his wife, Theva of La Junta, CO, Josephine Stassinos of Albuquerque, Eli Jimenez of Oregon City, OR, Elizabeth Romero of Santa Fe, NM, and Charles Jimenez and his wife, Linda of Albuquerque; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was born on March 28, 1919 in Palomas, NM. She married Tony Lopez of Holbrook, AZ on June 10, 1944. After World War II she and Tony moved to Las Cruces, NM to start a new life together. Ninfa worked as a bilingual teacher with the Las Cruces Public Schools and also with an experimental bilingual program for children at NMSU. She enjoyed a good game of canasta with her friends and loved gardening around her house. She will be remembered for her strong spirit and wonderful cooking. Ninfa was very much loved and will be sorely missed by all. MCDONOUGH -- Richard E. "Mac" McDonough, Major (Retired) age 76, a resident of Rio Rancho and Albuquerque since 1973, passed away Monday, June 1, 2009 from complications due to ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). He is survived by his partner Wilma Hodges of Rio Rancho; daughter, Kim McDonough-DeFilippis, son-in-law, Marco DeFilippis; grandchildren, Dania and Dante DeFilippis all of Albuquerque; sister, Jean Robertson of California; sister, Doris Duenow of Minnesota; sister, Irene Hersom of Minnesota; sister, Dorothy Bonato of California; brother, Don McDonough of California; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Mr. McDonough was preceded in death by his wife Joan McDonough. Mac was born in Severn Township, ND to Frank and Mina McDonough. He grew up in Detroit Lakes, MN and graduated from Detroit Lakes High School and subsequently enlisted in the U. S. Air Force. He served 20 years in the Air Force, most of which was spent as a navigator on B-52 airplanes and as a part of Strategic Air Command. He served during the Vietnam war and retired with the rank of Major. Mac enjoyed astronomy, loved jazz and classical music, was a shrewd card player, and adored spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid dancer and spent many days each week dancing with Wilma. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2009, 3:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW. PACHECO -- Elizabeth (Liz) Pacheco, 57, a beautiful wife and precious mother and grandmother went to be with our Lord, on Sunday, June 14, 2009. She was dearly loved and will be forever missed. Liz was born on July 28, 1951 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She was a longtime resident of Alameda and Los Ranchos. She was preceded in death by her in-laws, Augustine and Lydia Pacheco; brothers-in-law, Frank, Manuel and Tony Pacheco, Robert Olivares and Michael Gutierrez. SENA -- John Sena, age 60, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and teacher passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 16, 2009 following a courageous battle against cancer. John was born on December 15, 1948 in Anton Chico, New Mexico to Jose and Socorro Sena. He is survived by his wife of 35 years Lillian; daughter, Debbie Sena Johnson; son in law, Adrian; granddaughter, Angela (his pride and joy, whom she called "papa"); his mother Socorro Sena; his brothers Essel, Jim, and Joe; sisters, Viola, Elma, Maggie and Lydia; and many nieces and nephews. His family moved to Albuquerque in 1956; he was an Albuquerque High School bulldog and graduated in 1966 where he lettered in track and field. John served his country proudly as a Specialist in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Sena received a Bachelors degree in Education from Highlands University. He was a physical education teacher and was known as Coach Sena. John was a teacher to thousands of students whose lives he touched in profound ways. He taught for 35 years in the Albuquerque Public School System. He started teaching in 1973 at Riverview Elementary then taught at Garfield Middle School and Carlos Rey Elementary. He coached basketball and softball. He retired in 2008, but intended to return to teaching. He and his wife were avid Lobo fans. His passions were watching Lobo football and womens basketball teams, teaching P.E. and being a great husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to everyone he met. Visitation will be Sunday, June 21, 2009 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd. NW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Viola Sena Castro. Final visitation will be Monday, June 22, 2009 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m., at the Church, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m., Father Gene Gries, presider. Committal Service will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with military honors. The family requests contributions and donations be made to the U.N.M. Childrens Cancer center. TALAMANTE -- Guadalupe Jr. Born June 17, 1960 - Died June 14, 2009 Guadalupe Jr., 48 years old, went home to be with the Lord on June 14, 2009. Jr. was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Antonia G. Talamante and Guadalupe Talamante. He was the eleventh child out of fourteen. Preceded in death by his parents; brother Gilbert; niece Mercedes Talamante. He is survived by brothers Vernie and wife Christina, Alex Talamante, Michael and wife Marcella, Lorenzo and wife Denisha and Patrick Talamante. Sisters, Edwina Basquez and husband John, Dorothy Sanchez and husband Gene, Mildred Baldonado and husband Johnny, Katie Benavidez and husband Tony, Nancy Ipiotis, Isabel Talamante and Brenda Talamante; and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed dearly by all. Cremation has taken place, according to his wishes.
