BAROS -- Isabelle Baros, 85, passed away December 27, 2008. She is survived by her children, John E. Baros, and his two daughters Ashley and Stacie, Elizabeth C. Baros, and her three children, Melissa, Andrea and Allen, Terrie Jorgensen, (Ed), and their two sons, John and Jason, Rosine C. McConnell, (Don), and their three sons, Ryan, Ross, and Riley, Loretta A. House, and her two sons, Cameron and Austin; two other grandsons, Blaise and Anthony Baros; 13 great-grandchildren plus one on the way; one brother; five sisters. Isabelle was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Baros, of over 55 years; two sons, Fred Baros and Randy Baros. She was a lifetime resident of New Mexico. BECKER -- Maurice Becker, age 87, of Albuquerque, passed away at Presbyterian Hospital December 28, 2008 with loving family at his side. He was the son of Gordon and Belle Becker, and grew up in the Catskill Mountains of New York State. Following military service in Europe where he was wounded during World War II, he continued college at Cornell University. He married Eugenia Wilkin of Ithaca, New York, and went on to earn a Doctorate from Purdue University in Microbiology. Although left a paraplegic from polio in 1952, Dr. Becker's accomplishments in his chosen field were many, and included setting up and directing State virology laboratories in both Maryland and Michigan. He was well known for his civic contributions in the DeWitt/Lansing, Michigan area where he resided from 1960 to 1987. After his retirement, he moved to Albuquerque, became active in the community and was named Albuquerque Citizen of the year in 1999. He enjoyed traveling worldwide and also pursued careers in writing and art. He published and illustrated numerous articles, and became a well known local artist. His proudest achievement was completion of an 8'x 20' mural at La Vida Llena, the retirement facility where he resided, which depicts many aspects of New Mexico life. Maurice was predeceased by his son Gary; brother Milford; and sister Dorothy. He is survived by daughters Sylvia Pow and Sheryl Savas; son Stan; grandchildren Chris and Lauralie Pow, Tanya Savas and Claudia Marbaix; great-grandchildren Gavin and Matthew Pow; and sister Ruth Moore. BUSTAMANTE -- Maria Rita Baca Bustamante, born in Pena Blanca, NM, passed away December 23, 2008. She was 67 years old and fought strongly with cancer for a year or more. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Baca; mother, Isabel Baca; six brothers; and one sister. She is survived by her daughter, Regina; son, Oscar Jr.; sisters, Priscilla Moran and Marcella Targatlia; brothers, Rubel and Ernesto Baca; and several nephews and nieces. She will be missed by her family and friends because she was a very happy person. CARLTON -- Johnny L. Carlton passed away December 22, 2008 after a brief illness. Born February 3, 1932, he moved to Albuquerque in 1956. He was a real estate investor, specializing in residential rentals. Prior employment includes 18 years as an electrician and metal worker for Electrical Products Co. He was a member of the Hiland Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He is survived by his wife Jane Carlton; his son Robert and daughter-in-law Laurie Carlton of Albuquerque; and a sister, Venita Mooring of Hay Springs NE. He was preceded in death by his father Walter Carlton and mother Lucy Carlton, sister, Helen Morgan and brother Woody Carlton. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 5, 2009 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 8904 Menaul NE. A reception will follow at the Carlton home. ENNIS -- Rebecca Marie Ennis, died Monday, December 22, 2008 from injuries resulting from an automobile accident in Albuquerque. She is survived by her mother Nancy Reynolds of Albuquerque; sister Mrs. Ken Bordlemay and family of Albuquerque, sister Mrs. Michael Francis and family, Rio Rancho; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Cremains will be taken to San Diego, California, to the ocean that she and her son loved so much.

GONZALES -- Cherylann Kathryn Gonzales, 31, a life-long resident of Albuquerque passed away in Houston, TX on Wednesday, December 31, 2008. She is survived by her parents, Floyd and Angela Gonzales; partner, O.J. Hinojos; step-children, Jeremy and Adriannna Hinojos; brother, Floyd "Guerro" Gonzales; niece, Lydia Gonzales; nephew, Brandyn Gonzales; grandmother, Merlinda Gonzales; and numerous other relatives and friends. Cherylann was preceded in death by her grandparents, Miguel and Casimera Sena; and grandfather, Leandro Gonzales. She was born on July 6, 1977 in Albuquerque, and graduated from El Dorado High School in 1995. Cherylann received her Associate's Degree in Psychology from Santa Rosa Jr. College in CA. Prior to pursuing her passion as a youth counselor for troubled teens, Cherylann worked at Southwest Childcare and AOL. Cherylann never met a stranger, being a friend to all. She was a loving partner, step-mother, daughter and sister and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. HARRISON -- Robert "Dutch", CMSGT, USAF, (Ret.), died on Monday, December 29, 2008 after a long illness with COPD. Dutch was born September 29, 1933, in Hanover, PA. He was raised in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. He and three of his classmates enlisted in the Air Force in 1951, where he served an illustrious career until his retirement in 1980. Dutch served in the headquarters of every echelon of command in the USAF and with the U.S. Embassies in Bonn, Germany and Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. He served additional tours in Europe and Southeast Asia. His last duty assignment was as director of administration, contract management division at Kirtland AFB. Dutch is survived by his wife, Nancy, his high school sweetheart from Front Royal, VA. They found each other after 53 years of separation and were married in July 2003; his daughters, Dawn D. Warmuth and Darcell D. Harrison of San Antonio, TX; three stepchildren, Wendell Saunders of Cartersville, GA, Debra Franks of Renton, WA and Clifton Saunders of Aurora, CO. Dutch loved his country and the "Flag" which has flown 24/ 7. Although he has passed, the flag will continue to be flown for the land of the free and the home of the brave. HUMBLE -- Ivan Neal Humble, 85, long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, December 29, 2008. He was born April 2, 1923 in Sawyer, KS. Neal graduated from Kansas State University. He served his country in the US Navy Submarine Service during both WWII and the Korean Conflict. Neal retired from Sandia National Labs. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years LaVerna Jean; daughter Debra Wedemeyer and husband William L.; Grandchildren William M. LEON -- Mary P. Leon, 75, passed away December 30, 2008. Mary was born June 1, 1933 in Long Beach, California. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Herman Leon; her daughter, Sara Moreno and husband, Armando; two grandchildren, Daniel Leon and wife, Yolanda, and Rosie Moreno, and one great-granddaughter, Kurina Valadez. Mary enjoyed making quilts that she gave as gifts to family and friends. She also had a "green thumb" when it came to gardening, especially growing her own vegetables. Mary was a beautiful and caring person and she will be greatly missed by her loving family. Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held. MARTIN -- Beverly V. Martin, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1978, died at her home Wednesday, December 31, 2008. Beverly was born in Clintonville, WI, on March 29, 1921 to Ward and Meta Winchester. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Jim Martin; children Dan Behnke and wife Kathy of Marshfield, WI, Lynn Husen and husband Hank of Dandridge, TN, Charles Behnke and wife Louise of New London, WI, Amy Quimby of Appleton, WI, Sara Korb and partner Greg Bredael of Green Bay, WI, Mary Donato of Albuquerque, Betty Newell and husband Bob of Peralta, and Pete Martin and wife Karen of Richland, OR; 30 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Laurel L. Behnke. Mrs. Martin was a longtime member of Christus Lutheran Church in Clintonville, WI and Faith Lutheran Church in Albuquerque, NM. Beverly sang with the Enchanted Mesa Chapter of Sweet Adelines. She was also a well known soloist in Clintonville WI before moving to Albuquerque. MYERS -- Elizabeth Josephine (Betty Jo), 87, of Scottsdale, AZ, formerly of Albuquerque, NM passed peacefully surrounded by her family on December 28, 2008. Betty Jo was born October 30, 1921 in America, IL. She will be remembered as a loving sister, mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. Betty Jo is survived by her son Don Myers of Scottsdale, AZ; and four daughters, Pam and Clark Hall of Tucson, AZ; Sandy and George Ruth of Las Cruces, NM, Jan and Larry D'Anza and Geri and Patrick Beel of Albuquerque, NM; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, three sisters, Barbara Hage, Charlotte Rigg and Harriett Treadwell; and many nieces and nephews. OTERO -- Jose Maria Otero, died December 31, 2008. He was born in Tejique, New Mexico, April 7, 1935 and lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He owned an upholstery shop for 32 years. Jose was a dedicated member of the Victory Outreach ministry. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and his son Leroy. Jose Otero is survived by his loving wife Carmen; brother Trancito; six children Albert, David, Alfred, Joella and Leo, Johnny and Gloria, and Joseph; 27 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Victory Outreach on Five Points and Bridge at 2:30 p.m. Fellowship will follow service. He is greatly loved and missed by all.

SLATER -- Ronald F. Slater, 76, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2008. He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Elia "Ellie"; two brothers-in-law, Ernie Fresquez and Sam Fresquez, both of Albuquerque; sister-in-law, Mary Louise and husband, Joseph Valdez of Albuquerque; and several nieces and nephews. Ron was born the only child to the late Harwood and Sylvia Slater in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin. He graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School and attended and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Ron served his country in the United States Air Force for four years. Following his military duty, he began his career with the Kohler Company in Sheboygan Falls. He became a representative in the south and southwest areas for the company, retiring from Kohler after 32 years of service. He and Elia were married on June 2, 1962 in Albuquerque. He had been a Shriner for many years. After retirement, he and his wife began playing golf and traveled extensively across the world. Ron loved life and lived it to the fullest. Rosary will be recited for Ron on Sunday, January 4, 2009, 6:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. WALLACE -- William Herbert, Jr. (Bill) passed away at Manzano Del Sol Health Care Center on December 29, 2008. Bill was born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1918. He attended Michigan State University from 1937 to 1941. While in East Lansing he met fellow student Mary Ellen Bailey. They married in 1941. After graduating with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry, Bill began his 37-year career with the Upjohn Company in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In 1942, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving as Captain, 288th Field Artillery, during World War II. Bill had four persistent passions in his life family, fine art photography, travel and public service. Bill and Mary Ellen started their family in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where they had three sons Bill (William C.), Craig and Ralph. His passion for his family is well documented in thousands of photos. His passion for fine art photography is well documented in his photos of the world's most dramatic landscapes; many of these photos are now placed in celebrated art centers. Bill's love of natural beauty knew no borders. His photographic-travel destinations included Tibet, China, Russia, Indonesia, and Iceland. Back home, he explored all 50 states, often with his sons. Not an idle admirer, Bill also had passion for the greater good and health of his community, serving ten years on the board of education in Comstock, Michigan; 20 years on the board of the Kalamazoo Intermediate School District; and on the Comstock (Michigan) Zoning Board of Appeals as well as the Comstock Library board. In the early 1990s, Bill was recognized by a joint resolution of the Michigan State Legislature, signed by the Governor. On September 11, 1989, Bill's wife and one true love, Mary Ellen, passed away. In 1993 he moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico to join his sons and their families. He is survived by William C. Wallace and Mary Conrad; their sons Ryan and Matthias and daughter Rebecca; Craig S. Wallace and Trudy Wallace; and Ralph B. Wallace and Brenda Wallace; all of Albuquerque, New Mexico. A Memorial Service and reception will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Manzano Del Sol Chapel, 5201 Roma Avenue NE. WILLIAMSON -- Theresa Elaine Durler Williamson, 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1961, passed away Monday, December 29, 2008. With the love, care and support of her husband of 57 years she fought a long and valiant battle with cancer. Her strength and resiliency was an inspiration to her family and all who knew her. She is survived by her husband Charles "Chuck" Williamson; children, John Walter Williamson and wife Susan, Rebecca Williamson/Monette and husband John, Charles Michael Williamson and wife Debra, Debora Lea Williamson/Griffin and husband Bill; grandchildren Christopher and Mikal Monette, Kevin and Caitlin Williamson, and Kayla and Kyle Williamson; sister Mary Ann Jacobson; niece Sharen Durler Pflughoeft; nephews Stanley, Steven and Michael Durler, Paul Jacobson and numerous other relatives and friends. Theresa was preceded in death by her parents John and Marguerite Durler; brother John Durler; and sister Peggy Higgins. She married Charles J. Williamson in 1951 and lived in Los Alamos, NM before moving to Albuquerque. She worked for Mountain Bell for 41 years until her retirement in 1993 as an assignment engineer. She was a member of the Pioneers retirement group. Her true love in life was her grandchildren. Theresa enjoyed following their athletic and academic achievements. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Prayer Service will be held at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel on Monday, January 5, 2009, 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
