YBARRA -- Grace L. Ybarra, 82, long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away on November 2, 2008. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years Esequiel; her daughter Lisa Ybarra, her grandchildren Shalon and Stacy and close friends Lee and Mary Stevens. Grace was preceded in death by her two sons, David Ybarra and Michael Burmood. The Ybarra family would like to give a special thanks and appreciation to Debbie Anderson, who was not only Grace's primary caregiver but who was just like one of the family. Grace had a great love for kids. She spent her life caring for and making time for children. She ran a day child care out of her home for many years and cared for many kids. She especially loved to provide help for single parent families. Grace was a woman that knew how to speak her mind. She will always be remembered as wonderful wife and mother, and someone who always had the room for another child in her home. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel. BERNARD -- Nelson T. Bernard Jr. went to his heavenly home on October 14, 2008 in Las Vegas, NV. He was born on August 10, 1925 to Nelson T. and Cora M. Bernard in Clinton, MO. He was preceded in death by his son Nelson T. Bernard III. He is survived by his wife of 60 years M. Rosalyn Bernard of Las Vegas, NV; and daughters Karon Lee of Las Vegas, NV, Pamela Johnson of Roswell, NM, and Louise Sims of East Afton, TX. He also has six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The Memorial is scheduled for November 8, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Inn at Rio Rancho. His internment will be at 3:00 at Vista Verde Memorial Park During WWII, he served in the Navy, on the Cumberland Sound, a sea plane tender, which entered Tokyo Harbor several days before the armistice with Japan. He then attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, where he was award a Bachelor of Science in Forestry and was on the University football team that played in the Raisin Bowl. He spent the next 31 years working for the US Forest Service in the SW Region. In 1968, he founded the cooperative effort and association between Asociacion Mexicano Profesional Forestal (Association of Professional Mexican Foresters) of Mexico and the Society of American Foresters. An Association that is still in existence today. He was also a published author of Nature books. After retirement he and Rose traveled full time taking their RV from Central America to the Arctic Circle, and all fifty states. His quick wit, generous and caring personality, and great sense of humor will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.

BOLTON -- Barry John Bolton, 50, passed away October 26, 2008. Barry was born in Anchorage, AK on October 24, 1958, he was a long time resident of Albuquerque. His next of kin include, daughter Crystal Gimesh; granddaughters, Wendy and Katarina Gimesh; mother, Geraldine Bolton; and stepson Cody Wilmon. His Memorial will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2008 2:00 p.m., Heights Club of Albuquerque, 8520 Marble NE.

BUCHANAN -- Mary Lou Buchanan, 78, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, October 29, 2008. She was born May 19, 1930 in Meeker, OK. She was a member of ABWA Woman's group and was an active member of her church. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, L. J. Buchanan, Jr. (Buck); children Jerrie Sue and Nolan R. Kerr and Louis M. Buchanan; siblings Geraldine Starr, Betty Koos, Lucille Nance and Albert Mills. BURT -- Jack H. Burt, 83, born and raised in Albuquerque, NM, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2008. He is survived by his two sons, Kelly Burt and Darryl Burt, and his daughter Glenda McGuire; grandchildren Amber Burt and Brandon Burt. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Doreen Burt; his four brothers, Orville, Don, Carl and Ray, and his three sisters Helen, Jean and Dorothy. Jack was an avid bowler and former owner of Holiday Bowl. He was inducted into the Albuquerque Bowling Hall of Fame. He also loved to golf and to spend time with his family. His great sense of humor will be missed by everyone fortunate enough to know Jack. CLARK -- Virginia Casados Clark. Artist and educator, age 80 years, home in Los Lunas, NM, passed November 4, 2008 in Charlotte, NC. Virginia was born August 4, 1928 in Gallup, NM to parents Jacobo (Jack) and Virginia Casados; brothers Jack (Jacobo), James, and Joseph Casados; she married Charles Alan Clark. She is survived by son, Alan Charles Clark and his wife Angela McTee; daughter, Susan Jane Clark and her boyfriend Sven Hillring, daughter, Sandra Leigh Mizzi and her husband Anthony Mizzi; grandsons Dylan Evan Jones and Zachary Marcellos Mizzi; and many loving friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Virginia received her Bachelors Degree from University of New Mexico. Virginia taught English and art at schools in Las Cruces, and Santa Fe, NM for many years. After retirement she started a new career as an artist of Straw Applique. Her art was awarded honors by several galleries in Los Lunas, Belen, Denver, Santa Fe, and the New Mexico State Fair. Virginia's greatest joys: grandchildren, friends, teaching, pets, her artwork, reading and walking. COPPOLA -- Nina Coppola (known also as Marion Coppola Mann), headmistress of the school and company, Ballet de Santa Fe, passed away on October 31, 2008 in Santa Fe, NM. Several of Nina's students went on to professional careers, including Rebecca Crown and Christine Spizzo. Nina herself had a career in New York City, Houston, and Los Angeles. Nina studied with Alexander Kotchetovsky of the Bolshoi Ballet and Diaghileff Company; Nijinky's sister, Bronislava Nijinska; Boris Romanoff; and Antole Vilzak. She was a soloist in the 1940s with Radio City Music Hall, where she met and married her first husband, opera conductor, Anton Coppola, and toured the United States and Canada with the San Carlo Opera Company and the Chicago Concert Ballet. Nina established the Houston School of Ballet for the Ballet Russes and founded the Houston Ballet Company, performing there with the Houston Symphony and the Lyric Theatre. She taught ballet in New York for both Vincenzo Celli, who was successor to Cecchetti, and Maria Yurieva-Swoboda; she also taught in Los Angeles for Michel Panaieff, where Nina was ballerina for the Los Angeles City Ballet as well. Additionally, Nina worked as music advisor for Kraft T.V. Theatre, N.B.C., in New York, and as choreographer for the opera ballet at the Watergate Theatre in Washington D.C.. Born Marion Jane Miller of Houston, Texas, she was the daughter of Veta Brigance Miller and Moffett Marion Miller of Gulf Oil. "Nina," as she became known, first settled in Santa Fe during the 1950s and 60s, and, after spending several years in Los Angeles, retired to Santa Fe where she had been active in church work for many years. She is survived by her two granddaughters, Kristin Marion Coppola-Rowell (daughter of the late artist Robert Henry "Hank" Jones, known also as L. Henry, of Albuquerque) and Kristin's husband, Timothy Baker Rowell, and their son (Nina's great-grandson) Cosmo Coppola Rowell of Marblehead, MA; and Corrine-Marie Coppola-Petit (daughter of the late renowned jazz bassist Raymond Matthews Brown) and Corinne's husband, Paul Marc Petit, and their daughter (Nina's great-granddaughter) Raphael-Marie Carmen Petit of Paris, France. Nina Coppola's only daughter, Susan Marion Coppola (daughter of Anton Coppola and mother of Kristin and Corinne) passed away peacefully only a few days following her mother, on November 5, 2008 in Chestnut Hill, MA with her daughter Kristin at her side.
