ARCHULETA -- Benigno Archuleta Jr., a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on November 3, 2008 after battling many years of illness. He was 65. He was a veteran who served in the Army. Mr. Archuleta is predeceased by his father, Benigno Sr.; mother, Trinidad; two brothers Michael David and Edward; and two sisters Mary and Beatrice. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Roselia; sons Matthew and wife Dawn; Joshua and fiance Mindee; Samuel and wife Teresa; and Moses; grandchildren Tamescia, Jenea, Jordan, Damien, Santiago, Marissa, Marcos, Monet, Doron, Atreyu; one great-grandchild Elias; sister Grace Rodriguez and husband Bernardo; sisters-in-law Beverly Archuleta, Mary Laurel and husband Bernardo,and Delia Martinez; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Archuleta loved to play guitar and go fishing. He had a great talent for carving wood and gardening. He was greatly loved and will be missed very much by his loving family and many friends. Viewing will be Thursday at 5:00 p.m. followed by a Life Celebration Service at 6:00 p.m. in the Reflection of Life Chapel (Washington and Cutler NE). Life Celebration Service will also be held in Santa Fe on Friday at El Buen Pastor Church (1250 W. Alameda) at 9:00 a.m. followed by an 11:00 a.m. Interment at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. BUCHANAN -- Mary Lou Buchanan, 78, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, October 29, 2008. She was born May 19, 1930 in Meeker, OK. She was a member of ABWA Woman's group and was an active member of her church. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, L. J. Buchanan, Jr. (Buck); children Jerrie Sue and Nolan R. BURT -- Jack H. Burt, 83, born and raised in Albuquerque, NM, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2008. He is survived by his two sons, Kelly Burt and Darryl Burt, and his daughter Glenda McGuire; grandchildren Amber Burt and Brandon Burt. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Doreen Burt; his four brothers, Orville, Don, Carl and Ray, and his three sisters Helen, Jean and Dorothy. Jack was an avid bowler and former owner of Holiday Bowl. He was inducted into the Albuquerque Bowling Hall of Fame. He also loved to golf and to spend time with his family. His great sense of humor will be missed by everyone fortunate enough to know Jack. CHAVEZ -- Angelina Ida Chavez, age 40, born in Albuquerque, NM on January 9, 1968, entered into rest with her savior on October 31, 2008. "Angie" was born to Francis Barrera and George Chavez. She was second oldest of four siblings, George Zamora, Dolores Mendoza, and Elizabeth Roman. She is survived by her four children, Mark A. Chavez, Adrian M. Chavez, Beatrice Y. Chavez, and Andriena E. Chavez. She was grandmother to three, Mya A. Chavez, Matthew A. Garcia, and Davian R. Chavez. Her joyful spirit and bright smile touched all who came to know her. She finally found peace with her savior who relieved her of her pain and suffering. From the loved ones of Angelina Chavez, we extend sincere gratitude to whoever treated this angel with kindness. Her final resting place is at Sunset Memorial Park in Centennial Garden where all her beloved brothers and sisters may visit. CHAVEZ -- Ronald (Ron) E. Chavez passed away, November 3, 2008 in Albuquerque at the age of 47. Ron was born in California, and resided in Albuquerque. He was a member of the American Legion Post 69. Ron was survived by his sons, Aaron and Anthony Chavez of Albuquerque; grandsons, Gabriel and Matthew Chavez; parents, Vincent and Grace Chavez; brothers, John Chavez and wife, Monica, Steve Chavez and wife, Anita, and Paul Chavez; sisters, Patricia Weaver and husband, Larry of Albuquerque, and Nadine Chavez of Amarillo, TX; as well as extended family members and friends. A Rosary for Ron will be recited on Thursday evening, November 6, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, located at 300 Mildred Ave NW. CONNALLY -- Roy E. Connally died one year ago today (November 6, 2007). Marie, his wife of 55 years, preceded him in death, and together they left their daughter, Sandy Connally of Ft. Collins, CO; and granddaughter, Jamaica Connally of Durango, CO. Born in Selma, CA in 1925, Roy completed high school at Brown Military Academy in Pacific Beach, California, in 1943. From 1943 to 1953, he served as a navigator in the Army Air Corps in World War II and as a U.S. Air Force pilot during the Korean Conflict. He left active duty in 1953 and retired from the USAF Reserve as a Lt. Colonel in 1966. From 1953 through 1960 he was in business with his brother, Lee Connally, in San Jose, CA. After leaving the business world, he earned the bachelor's and Master's degree from San Jose State University, and the Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology at the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 1967. Connally served on the faculties of Colorado Women's College in Denver, Fort Hays Kansas State College in Hays, and the University of Central Florida in Orlando. He retired in 1987 and relocated to Albuquerque in 1993. According to him, Connally's greatest points of pride, in order, were their daughter Sandy, their granddaughter Jamaica, his students, and his service to his country. Finally, Connally had been heard to say, "If I have any choice in the matter, I want my last words to be It has been a wonderful party but now it is late and I want to go home. Thanks to all of you, and good night."

DUDERSTADT -- Robert F. Duderstadt, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend died at age 80 on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 after a brave battle with an ongoing illness and now rests safely in the arms of his Heavenly Father. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Laura of 57 years; children, Sheldon Duderstadt, Julie Howie and husband, Ray, Joyce Shaw and her husband Warren (who preceded Robert in death) and Valerie Linson and husband, David; 12 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren who loved him dearly, will miss him deeply and will cherish their memories of him forever. Robert was a family man who left a wonderful legacy of life, love, and laughter. He was a very kind man whose ability to quickly fill any room with laughter will never be forgotten. He was a man of his word and exuded a strength that was admired by many. He was truly a man who made a difference in those whose lives he touched and the friends he made throughout his lifetime. Robert served his country in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952 and received an honorary medal for rescuing a young boy from drowning during his service. He was a respected car salesman in Dayton, Ohio earning several Legion of Leaders awards and Hall of Honor. Robert moved his family from Dayton, OH to Albuquerque in 1968 to start the first Arby's franchise west of the Mississippi River. He was a Director of the New Mexico Restaurant Association during his many years as a restauranteur. He retired and sold his businesses in 1990. He had fervent love for opera and especially Andre Bocelli. Robert's latest joys included celebrating life with his wife and family, spending time at their home in Clearwater Beach, Florida and watching his great-grandchildren (who lovingly called him Papa) discover the world around the with such innocence. Services will be held Saturday, November 8, 2008, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel. A reception to follow service to celebrate Robert's life. Cremation to follow. FLORES -- Amador Flores, 75, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, resident of Albuquerque. He is survived by his loving wife Aurora; sons Gerald, Ivan Rick and wife Heather; daughters, Veronica, Lisa and Leo, Shirley and husband Ernesto; sisters Alice, Maria, Sheila, Ruby, and Carmen; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Chris and Becky, Rose and Fidel, Grace, Gloria, Mary, Frank, Jimmy, Richard, and Phil; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren which he adored, and many nephews and nieces. HERRERA -- Lorrie P. Herrera (Campos), 50, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Lorrie was born March 17, 1958 the daughter of Tommy and Priscilla M. Vigil Campos in Santa Fe, NM. Lorrie's hobby was charcoal drawings. She had been an office manager for a freight transport company before her death. Lorrie was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Campos; brother, Daniel Melton; and niece, Lynn Audrey Campos. She is survived by her son, Isaac Correa and wife Adele; grandson, Daniel Romero Correa; mother, Priscilla Melton; two brothers, Larry Campos and wife Kristine, and Tony Melton; one sister, Kim Melton; and numerous nephews and nieces. HINKEL -- Heinz Kurt Hinkel, 85, of Albuquerque, NM, died Sunday, November 2, 2008. Heinz was the son of Richard and Johanne Hinkel. He was born December 3, 1922, in Buchholz, Saxony, in Germany. Heinz graduated in 1942 cum laude from the advanced merchant school (Hohere Handelsanstalt) in Chemmitz to begin a carrier in banking. In 1943, he was drafted into the German Army. Upon his return in 1945 he served as a missionary and later as secretary to the East German Mission of the Church of Latter Day Saints in Berlin, Germany. In 1951, he immigrated to the USA and entered the University of Utah, where he graduated in 1953 with a B.S. degree in Accounting. He was united in marriage with Ruth Larisch on September 3, 1954 where the couple made their home in Salt Lake City. Heinz taught mathematics at West High School, SLC. 1966 through 1970, the couple served in the Navajo Lutheran Mission in Rock Point, AZ as teachers. In 1971, they relocated to Albuquerque, NM where Heinz worked as an accountant until his retirement in 1985. He became a member of Cross of Hope Lutheran Church and enjoyed many friendships there. He is survived by his wife, Ruth of 54 years, and relatives in Germany. Services for Heinz will be held on November 7, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., at Cross of Hope Lutheran Church located at 6104 Taylor Ranch Rd NW. JARAMILLO -- Emma Jaramillo passed away Monday, November 3, 2008 in Albuquerque at the age of 87. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gregorio; and children, Salvador, Johnny, and Sadie. KALMES -- Beverly Kalmes, a kind and generous soul who preferred the title of "Grandma" passed away in Kirkland, WA on Sunday, November 2, 2008. Beverly follows her mother Polly Burns and is survived by a large and adoring family. She will be missed by her husband Peter Kalmes, daughters Missy Igel (along with husband Peter and daughter Amelie) and Katie Penn (along with husband Bobby and son Boban); son Tres Kalmes ; her father Lyle Burns Sr. and his wife Betty; sister Brenda Schauer (along with husband Kent and all of their children and grandchildren); and brother Lyle Burns Jr. (along with wife Sarah and all of their children). Beverly's family also included all of her wonderful neighbors of more than 30 years, and many incredible friends. Her children number far more than the three she raised, she was an educator at heart and taught kindergarten at Hubert Humphrey Elementary School for more than 25 years. She taught hundreds of kids and loved them all. In her memory, Beverly had asked that a fund be created to provide playground equipment for the kindergartners that will attend Hubert Humphrey in the years to come. KEMPER -- Shirley V. Kemper, age 86, of Albuquerque, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2008. Shirley lived her life for the Lord and her family. She was always known as a person who always put others needs in front of her own. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years and the love of her life, Jack A. Kemper. She lived her life in accordance with Prov. 31:25, 28-29. MARTINEZ -- Patrick "Big Dog" Martinez Patrick passed away on the morning of October 24, 2008 unexpectedly at his home in Albuquerque, NM. He was born in Cortez, CO on March 2, 1970 to Andronico and Sofie Martinez and resided most of his life in Dolores, CO. Patrick's great loves were his family and friends, Scorpions Hockey, fishing and being in the mountains. His jokes, great personality and enthusiasm for life drew people to him wherever he went. Patrick touched so many lives and made them richer in ways that can never be forgotten. He will be sorely missed by all. He was preceded in death by his father, Andronico Martinez. Patrick is survived by his beloved wife Sarah Peterson and their daughter Sierra; his mother Sofie Martinez; brothers Sam and wife Phyllis and brother Gilbert; sisters Helen and husband Armando, Cathleen and husband Paul and Frances and husband Brad. MCKENNA -- Jane Ellsworth May 21, 1926 - November 3, 2008 Jane Ellsworth McKenna, 82, passed away gently in her home on Monday evening, November 3, 2008. She was blessed to have been surrounded by family and loved ones as she was peacefully taken into the hands of the Lord. Predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Thomas F. McKenna Sr.; and her father and mother, Harris and Helen Ellsworth; she is survived by her sister, Mary Margaret Dittman, Tacoma, WA; children, Kathleen, Park City, UT; Marita (Scott), Leesburg, VA, Thomas (Pamella), Albuquerque, NM, Michael, Jacksonville, FL, and Patricia (Scott), Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived by five grandchildren; Matthew, Thomas, Lorenzo, Harrison, and Maura. Jane graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Oregon in 1948 and began her professional career with CBS News in Washington, DC, where her father was serving as a United States Congressman (R-OR). She met her future husband shortly thereafter and married in 1950. Thomas and Jane relocated to Santa Fe, NM where they resided until their move to Albuquerque, NM in 1970. Jane was a Lady of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. She gave generously of her time, sitting on numerous Boards including Casa Angelica Auxiliary, The Catholic Foundation and The Governor's Mansion Foundation. She was a member of Rotary International and a founding member of the New Mexico chapter of Federated Republican Women. She owned and operated Discover Travel in Albuquerque until her retirement in 2004. Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 7, 2008 at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd, NE. MCKINNEY -- Lee B. McKinney, age 88 of Albuquerque, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2008 at a local hospital. Mr. McKinney was a veteran and reservist in the United States Army for over 30 years. He retired from the United States Army as a Lt. Colonel, during this time he worked for the Atomic Energy Commission (Department of Energy Commission), retiring from both in 1980. He was a member of Hoffmantown Community Church since 1973. Surviving are his wife of 67 years Waldean; his children, Brenda D. MILLER -- Shannon Rae Miller, 24, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, died Sunday, November 2, 2008. She is survived by her son Verlander Vernon Tso; mother, Sharon Miller and father, Ernest Miller; sisters Rachelle Rico, Deanne J. Tah, Denise J. Tah; brothers Jeffrey Begay, Eric E. NEJAR -- Mary Nejar, 88, a long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully in the early hours of Sunday, November 2, 2008. She was born Friday, December 19, 1919 in Belem, Para, Brazil. Mary and her family immigrated to the United States when she was four years old. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elias and Rachidi Azar Nejar; brother, Abe Nejar; sisters, Rosie Stevens, Galia Macaron, Olga Macaron, Ilda Joeph, Sadie Nejar and Mentaha Mautainy. Mary is survived by her nephews and nieces, Bill Stevens and wife, Priscilla, Dolores Abraham and husband, Richard, Rosalie Parker and husband, Don, Frank Macaron, Shirley Macaron, Phyllis Cox and husband, Buddy; and many great nieces and nephews including, Michael Abraham, James Abraham, Rochelle Duran, Christine Lutz, Elizabeth Benham, Billy Stevens and Donna Rose Sauter. She lived a long life and will be remembered for her love and dedication to her family. She will be missed. PAMPALONE -- Mary Bunch Pampalone, age 94, died Sunday, November 2, 2008. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leo, her parents, and two brothers. Those left to mourn her passing are her son, Leonard; and daughter, Patricia Bearly and husband Russell, and numerous other relatives. Formerly of Gary, IN, Mary and family came to Albuquerque in 1952. She always loved the Southwest and especially the mountains. She worked as a legal secretary and retained her excellent spelling ability all her life. She was proud of her Romanian heritage and was greatly loved by her family. She will always be missed. The family is very grateful for the wonderful compassionate care given Mary in her last two years by Bee Hive Homes-Westside, and Odyssey Hospice. PAYNE -- Oscar "Mickey" Payne, 79, of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2008. He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Marion Payne, his mother, Carmen Saenz Payne, and his brother, Arthur Payne. He is survived by his children, Gary and wife Jackie of Tampa, FL, Helen Finley and husband Michael of Albuquerque, Mike and wife Susie of Albuquerque, and Jeff and wife Florence of Denver, CO. He also survived by his sister, Gloria Murphy of Bedford, TX; sister-in-law, Clella Carter of Cuero, TX; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was born in Laredo, TX, in 1929 and lived there with his mother, brother and sister. He later moved to Fort Worth, TX, graduating from Laneri High School. He worked in the oil fields of SW Texas and NE New Mexico, until he moved his family to Albuquerque in 1964 to start a new career with the Federal Aviation Administration. He loved cooking and woodworking. After retiring, he enjoyed traveling with his wife to various places either by auto or cruises. He will be missed by his family and many friends. SANCHEZ -- Florence Marie Sanchez, 71, a resident of Albuquerque, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, October 30, 2008 in her son's arms while at her bedside. She is survived by her son Gary Montoya and wife Verna; and two grandchildren, Jordan and Marcos Montoya; brother Louie Montoya Jr.; first cousin Candido "Candy" Garcia and wife Terry; and many other relatives and friends. Memorial Services will be held at St. Charles Borromeo, 1818 Coal Place SE, on Saturday, November 8, 2008 with a Rosary at 9:00 a.m., and Celebration of Mass at 9:30 a.m., with Reverend John Thomas Lane officiating. SANCHEZ -- Leandro Sanchez was born in San Jose, NM on March 16, 1919. He passed away November 5, 2008. He was 89 years old. He is survived by his wife Pauline Sanchez; his step-daughter Betty; his son Lawrence Sanchez and his two daughters Joan Yedin and Elaine Navarrette. He had 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. His four brothers are Rodger, Ernest, Charles, and Albert. His three sisters are Helen, Corine, and Ida. Leandro was a World War II veteran. He was adored for his love for his family, his love for life, and his kind gentle spirit. He will always be remembered in the hearts of his family. Mass will be held today at Queen of Heaven Church at 10:00 a.m.

SCULLY -- Geraldine A. Scully, 79, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Geraldine was born January 24, 1929 in Queens, New York. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Scully: parents, William M. and Anne Scott; brother, William D. Scott; and sister, Barbara A. Scott. She is survived by her son, Tim M. Scully and wife Marsha; two step-children, Jimmy Scully and Jacqueline Scully; eight grandchildren, Meghan, Michael, Peter, Christopher, Kelli, John, Michael, and Tommy; and five great grandchildren; one sister, Pearl Hardiman and husband Michael. YBARRA -- Grace L. Ybarra, 82, long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away on November 2, 2008. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years Esequiel; her daughter Lisa Ybarra, her grandchildren Shalon and Stacy and close friends Lee and Mary Stevens. Grace was preceded in death by her two sons, David Ybarra and Michael Burmood. The Ybarra family would like to give a special thanks and appreciation to Debbie Anderson, who was not only Grace's primary caregiver but who was just like one of the family. Grace had a great love for kids. She spent her life caring for and making time for children. She ran a day child care out of her home for many years and cared for many kids. She especially loved to provide help for single parent families. Grace was a woman that knew how to speak her mind. She will always be remembered as wonderful wife and mother, and someone who always had the room for another child in her home.
