NORTHFIELD -- Martha "Marty" Ewing Northfield, 65, passed away December 10, 2008 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She lived in Pinetop, Arizona from 1995 until early October of this year, when she went to stay with her daughter Karen and her family while being treated for metastasis breast cancer. Marty is survived by her two much-loved daughters and their partners, Karen Northfield and Pamela Michaels, Debra and Fred Cawthon; grandchildren, Jessica and Bethany Cawthon, Benjamin, John and Julia Michaels. She leaves behind five elder sisters, Effie Ewing Lehner, Clessa Lunt, Ida Birtcher, Lariene Treat and Velma Stewart; one brother, Leonard Ewing. She will be much missed by her numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and a large group of devoted friends. Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Owens Livingston Mortuary White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th St., Show Low. SAIZ -- Aurelio A. Saiz, 73, Went home to be with the Lord on Saturday December 27, 2008. Aurelio was surrounded by his loving family as he made his journey. He is survived by his soul mate of 40 years, Grace Hernandez, five daughters, Mercy Parson (Ernie), Diane Hernandez (Nettie McCraney), Annabell DeLaO (Mike), Rachel Saiz (Fred Sandoval), Lillian Encinias (Robert Hefter), Judy Muniz (Napoleon); three sons, Danny Hernandez (Yvette), Porfirio Saiz, Benny Saiz (Eve Coca), one Godchild Kristina Encinias, one brother, 21 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Services are pending.

SCHROEDER -- Christian F. Schroeder, Jr., a long-time resident of Albuquerque, died peacefully on December 24, 2008. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Jeannette. Chris is survived and will be dearly missed by his daughter, Kimberly Schroeder; his daughter and son-in-law, Melanie and Josep Maria Prat; and his son, Mark Schroeder. THURMAN -- Glen Woodrow Thurman, DDS, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, December 29, 2008. He is survived by his daughter, Jayne McDonald and husband, Randy; son, Fred Thurman and wife, Elsie; grandchildren, Griffin and Piper McDonald, Brady Thurman, Hunter Thurman and wife, Emily; and great-grandson, Mckinley Thurman. Glen was born on a farm in rural Nebraska, attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and lived in his home state until he joined the Navy and served during World War II in San Diego. After the war, a Navy buddy convinced Glen to come with him to New Mexico, where he met his wife, Sarah Jane Thurman. Glen made his home in Albuquerque, raised his family and had a successful dental practice for forty years. He was a life long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he and Sarah were active for many years. Services will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, University Chapel. TKACH -- Thomas A. Tkach II, 28, died December 25, 2008. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas A. Tkach. Survived by his mother, Cecelia Romero Tkach, brother/wife, Christopher & Antoinette Tkach, sister, Kathryn Tkach, and daughter, Adrianna.
