DUDERSTADT -- Robert F. Duderstadt, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend died at age 80 on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 after a brave battle with an ongoing illness and now rests safely in the arms of his Heavenly Father. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Laura of 57 years; children, Sheldon Duderstadt, Julie Howie and husband, Ray, Joyce Shaw and her husband Warren (who preceded Robert in death) and Valerie Linson and husband, David; 12 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren who loved him dearly, will miss him deeply and will cherish their memories of him forever. Robert was a family man who left a wonderful legacy of life, love, and laughter. He was a very kind man whose ability to quickly fill any room with laughter will never be forgotten. He was a man of his word and exuded a strength that was admired by many. He was truly a man who made a difference in those whose lives he touched and the friends he made throughout his lifetime. Robert served his country in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952 and received an honorary medal for rescuing a young boy from drowning during his service. He was a respected car salesman in Dayton, Ohio earning several Legion of Leaders awards and Hall of Honor. Robert moved his family from Dayton, OH to Albuquerque in 1968 to start the first Arby's franchise west of the Mississippi River. He was a Director of the New Mexico Restaurant Association during his many years as a restauranteur. He retired and sold his businesses in 1990. He had fervent love for opera and especially Andre Bocelli. Robert's latest joys included celebrating life with his wife and family, spending time at their home in Clearwater Beach, Florida and watching his great-grandchildren (who lovingly called him Papa) discover the world around the with such innocence. Services will be held Saturday, November 8, 2008, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel. A reception to follow service to celebrate Robert's life. Cremation to follow. GALLEGOS -- Jerry Gallegos, 55, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2008. He is preceded in death by his parents Amador and Concepcion Gallegos; brothers, Billy, Reno, and George; and his sister, Lucille. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Gallegos; sons, Donnie Gallegos and wife, Carla, Ronnie Gallegos and wife, Jessica, and Gabriel Gallegos; daughter, Dionne Chavira and husband, Elias; grandchildren, Shannon, Breana Gallegos, Ethan and Mariah Gallegos, Xavier Gallegos, Sasha Chavez, Rosalinda Green, Leah Chavira, Maria Chavira, and Elias Chavira; sister, Audrey and husband, Joe Martinez; brother Barney and wife, Emma Gallegos; several nieces, nephews, and other family and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly. Pallbearers will be Ernest Trujillo, Shannon Gallegos, John Carrillo, Matthew Lynch, Elias Chavira, and Danny Cox. Services will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church, 4th and Mildred NW. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, November 7, 2008 at 6:00pm. GARCIA -- Juan Garcia, 93, born August 17, 1915, lifelong resident of Albuquerque's North Valley went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday November 5, 2008 after a long illness. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years Dora and his loving daughter Rosalie. He is survived by his daughters Esther Romero and husband Arthur, Eileen Flores; Aurora Vigil and husband Michael; Judy Martinez; Carmelita Ortega and husband Peter; Margaret Martinez and husband Jim; Teresa Richards and husband Lance and sons John and wife Marty and Michael and wife Chris. He leaves behind 27 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Juan was the eldest of 13 children with numerous relatives and loved by all. A stranger he never knew, a smile he always had, his Fedora, his slight of hand, his quick dance step and his zest for living were what characterized Juan. Many of the landmarks of this state were products of his carpentry work. Although he will be sorely missed by all, we Celebrate and Rejoice his homecoming on Friday, November 7, 2008 at St. Thomas Aquinas Newman Center at 7:00 p.m. On, Saturday a Mass at 9:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Newman Center on University and Las Lomas.

HERRERA -- Lorrie P. Herrera (Campos), 50, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Lorrie was born March 17, 1958 the daughter of Tommy and Priscilla M. Vigil Campos in Santa Fe, NM. Lorrie's hobby was charcoal drawings. She had been an office manager for a freight transport company before her death. Lorrie was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Campos; brother, Daniel Melton; and niece, Lynn Audrey Campos. She is survived by her son, Isaac Correa and wife Adele; grandson, Daniel Romero Correa; mother, Priscilla Melton; two brothers, Larry Campos and wife Kristine, and Tony Melton; one sister, Kim Melton; and numerous nephews and nieces. Visitation for Lorrie will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., with the Service at 10:00 a.m., in the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, with Chaplain Keith Dotson officiating. Interment will follow in Vista Verde Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Isaac Correa, James Correa, Larry Campos, Alex Correa, David Sturgeon, and Kelsie Gieger. Honorary Pallbearer is Chris Sena. HOLST -- Roberta (Bobbie) D. Holst passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2008. She is in the arms of her Savior Jesus and she is with Dick, her husband of 56 years who passed in 2000. She was in the loving care of Jim, Lea, and Christi for the last three years. Bobbie loved her life, living in California, Hawaii, New Mexico and Colorado. Bobbie is survived by her sister Eloise Kaupilla and her family; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Lea Holst; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jerry Pomaikai; son, Peter Holst; daughter and son-in-law, Terri and David Krueger; grandsons, Matthew Holst and wife, Jamie; Michael Holst and wife, Amy; Jordan Holst; Jeffrey Krueger and wife Chrissy; Kurt Holst; James Krueger; granddaughters, Tiffany Fairbanks and husband Dave, Mary Ingerle, and Christi Cavanagh. She had six beloved great-grandchildren, Kristopher Ingerle, Ryan Ingerle, Malia Holst, Samuel Holst, Addison Holst, and Kaimaina Holst. Bobbie passed keeping her fork, she always said, "Keep your fork...cuz the best is yet to come". She knew that the best was in front of her. She will be missed by us very much, but we know she's dancing in heaven. KALMES -- Beverly Kalmes, a kind and generous soul who preferred the title of "Grandma" passed away in Kirkland, WA on Sunday, November 2, 2008. Beverly follows her mother Polly Burns and is survived by a large and adoring family. She will be missed by her husband Peter Kalmes, daughters Missy Igel (along with husband Peter and daughter Amelie) and Katie Penn (along with husband Bobby and son Boban); son Tres Kalmes ; her father Lyle Burns Sr. and his wife Betty; sister Brenda Schauer (along with husband Kent and all of their children and grandchildren); and brother Lyle Burns Jr. (along with wife Sarah and all of their children). Beverly's family also included all of her wonderful neighbors of more than 30 years, and many incredible friends. Her children number far more than the three she raised, she was an educator at heart and taught kindergarten at Hubert Humphrey Elementary School for more than 25 years. She taught hundreds of kids and loved them all. In her memory, Beverly had asked that a fund be created to provide playground equipment for the kindergartners that will attend Hubert Humphrey in the years to come. Donations can be sent to the Hubert Humphrey Elementary School PTSA Kindergarten Playground Fund in memory of Beverly Kalmes-9801 Academy Hills NE, Abq. NM 87111. LIRA -- Trinidad G. Lira, 83, passed away November 4, 2008.
