STONE -- Rosemary (Mary) Stone, age 82, resident of Albuquerque, passed away on December 29, 2007 at Hospice by the Sea in Hollywood, FL. A beloved wife and mother, Mary was married to Gary Stone for 54 years before she was widowed in 1998. She is survived by her loving children, Kurt Stone and Patty Stone; her brother, Patrick Mockler; her cherished grandchild, Lucy Green; and many other extended family members and friends who love and miss her. Visitation will be on Friday at12:30 in the chapel of the Daniels Family Funeral Services at 3113 Carlisle Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at 2:30 in the Santa Fe National Cemetery. STRONG -- Jan - (Mona Janice) Strong was born January 4, 1952, the daughter of Mona Lou and Addison Strong, in Albuquerque where she spent her life with the exception of a few years in Hawaii. She loved the city of Albuquerque and living at Park Plaza among friends. She is survived by her mother, Mona Lou Strong; her twin sister; and best friend Lynn Blackburn; her sister Donna Strong; her daughter Clarie Miller and Clarie's husband Brett and four grandchildren, Ty, Shelby, Tanner and Kyleigh. She is also survived by her nephew, Wes Blackburn; nieces Victoria Strong and her daughter Alexia; her Aunt Alice Whitehill; and cousins Dan Wilson, Kathy Spiess and their families; her mother in law Betty Brown; and many loving cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Addison Strong; and grand and great-grandparents, the Strongs and Wilsons, long time Albuquerque residents. She worked for Core-Mark International Inc., whose continued concern and friendship has been heartwarming. She passed away December 22, 2007. Jan never let the cancer define her, continuing her life in every way living each day with a smile, independently and to the fullest. Jan loved her life and felt blessed always. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Chapel 215 Locust St. N. E. January 4 Friday at 3:00 p.m. A celebration of her life will follow at Park Plaza 1331 Park Ave. S.W. SYLVESTER -- Donell D. Sylvester, 84, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 1, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dora Sylvester; his children, Nancy Donett Brown and husband, Bill, John Sylvester and wife, Debbie, Mary Dell Saling and husband, Jim; grandchildren, Deonne Brown, Nathan Brown and wife, Karen, Piper Wild, Aaron Cravens and wife, Margot; and four great-grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; one brother; and son, Durwin Kent. He received his Bachelor's of Science in soil conservation from the University of Nebraska and his Master's Degree in Range Management from the University of Wyoming. Mr. Sylvester started work as a rural school teacher, worked for the Soil Conservation Service in Nebraska, then Wyoming and finished his career as New Mexico State Range Conservationist before retiring in 1984. After retirement, he worked part time for Holistic Resource Management and even traveled to Africa with Christian Veterinary Mission. He was a member of Heights First Church of the Nazarene and Palo Duro Philatelic Society. He was a family man of great integrity, served God with his life and will be greatly missed. Services will be Friday, January 4, 2007, 1:00 p.m., at Heights First Church of the Nazarene, 8401 Paseo Del Norte, with burial to take place in Wilsonville, Nebraska at a later date. TRUJILLO -- Frances J. Trujillo, 51, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2008 with her family by her side. She was born on June 26, 1956 in Belen, NM and raised in Albuquerque, graduated from Albuquerque High in 1974, and held a career as a Hair Dresser. Frances has begun her journey to join her father, Juan G. Trujillo; mother, Josephine Trujillo; brother, Alex Trujillo; nephews, John and Dominic Trujillo, Bobby Ray Coffelt, and Manuel Hinojos in heaven. Frances is survived by her puppies, Angel and Buddy and will be missed by, brothers, Avilio and spouse Jackie, Vicente, and Paul Trujillo; sisters, Christine Coffelt, Martha and Veronica Trujillo and spouse Albert. She also has several nieces and nephews, and many great-nieces and -nephews she loved as though they were her own children, although it was nice to send them home, and many dear friends. Honorary Pallbearers are Tommy Coffelt, Johnny Ray Trujilllo, Pat Morris, Paul Trujillo Jr., Thomas Nelson Jr., Thomas Nelson Sr., Jarvis Mixon, Pancho Valdez III and Albert Gallegos. There will be a viewing from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and Rosary will follow on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Direct Funeral Services, at Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107. Cremation will follow services, and private disposition of cremains will take place at a later date. VALENCIA -- Ernest John Valencia "Ernie", age 44, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2007. He was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, August 27th 1963. Ernie will be greatly missed by all his loving family and friends. Ernie was a friend to all who knew him and to anyone who met him. He honorably served in the US Army for 5 years and served in Desert Storm. Ernie also worked for Intel, the largest computer chip manufacturer in the world. He finished school with a Bachelor's of Applied Science and a Master's of Business Administration. Ernie loved singing and going to karaoke bars with his friends. Ernie made his first music CD five years ago and just recently recorded some new songs. He is one of the best. Ernie was the father of two children, Ernest James Valencia and Desiree Monique Valencia; the brother of Toby Valencia, Sidney Valencia, Kathy Escarcida, Ricky Valencia, Dennis Valencia, Mathew Valencia, and Rodney Valencia. Ernie is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins who loved and will miss him greatly. Visitation and services will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Bernalillo, New Mexico. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, January 6, 2008 at 5:30 p.m. with a visitation also. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 7, 2008 at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow at the Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery near the corner of Highway 550 and I-25 also in Bernalillo. Pallbearers will be Pat Jaramillo, David Dowdikan, Frederic Brody, Dennis Barry, Charles Valencia, Steven Valencia and Albert Caceres. The honorary pallbearer will be Robert Baca. ATOR-BRIGHT -- Linda Ator-Bright died December 31, 2007 of Leukemia. She was born 11-9-1945 in Pittsfield, IL to Homer and Beverly Ator. Linda was raised in Albuquerque, NM where she graduated from the University of Albuquerque with a BA in business. She worked at University of Houston as the treasurer. She subsequently received an MBA from University of Houston, was a consultant for Oracle and worked in the Auditors Office for Harris County. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Homer Ator and is survived by her mother, Beverly Ator; brother, Larry Ator; sisters, Carol Ashley, Judi Grady, Marcia Paz of Albuquerque and Sharon Seeloff of Frankfurt Germany; daughter, Kelle Pido; grandchildren, Jennifer, Kyle and Jace Pido in Seabrook TX; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Crowder Funeral Home Chapel, Webster. CHAVEZ -- Paula V. Chavez went home to be with the Lord on January 1, 2008 at the age of 91. She was born on January 15, 1915. She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Chavez. Mrs. Chavez is survived by her two brothers, Nicolas Villegas and Abraham Villegas and wife Sylvia; two sisters, Imelda Eldrige and husband, Hubert and Ignacia Echegaray. FESSLER -- Patricia Fessler, 78, passed away on January 1, 2008. Mrs. Fessler was born on January 13, 1929 in Raton, NM to Oscar and Leola Sayr. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Fessler, who passed away in 1995. She was employed at a time at the Duke City Lumber in Espanola, NM. She is survived by her children, David Fessler and wife, Connie, of Albuquerque, Karen Knudson and husband, Richard, of Los Lunas and Konnie Leffel and husband, Wayne, of Murrieta, CA; four grandchildren, Tammie Towndrow, Melissa Oberle, Krystle Knudson and Aubrey Knudson; and two great-grandchildren, Ashley and Cody Towndrow. HERREN -- Carole Herren went home to be with the Lord on December 31, 2007 surrounded by her family and friends after a valiant fight with cancer. She was born November 28, 1943. She is survived by her mother, Caroline Herren; brother, Albert Herren and wife, Mary Beth and nephew, Will; brother, William (Bill) Herren and wife, Laurie and nephew, Albert F. Herren and wife, Deborah and children, Alyscia and Tiffany; niece, Carole Lynn Brown and husband, Kent and daughter, Summer. She was also survived by her uncle, William Herren and wife, Betty, from Ragland, Alabama; aunts, Freda Noto and Jane Arruda, both from Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Herren. Carole was a very caring and giving person who was an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Albuquerque and the Make a Wish Foundation and many other worthy organizations. Carole served in the banking community for 35 years. She worked in the human resource department and had the opportunity to interact with various branches throughout New Mexico and the western United States. She made many wonderful friends in her long career. She will be deeply missed.
