CHAVEZ -- - Michael Frank Chavez September 17, 1957 - January 4, 2006 Dear Mike, it's been a long two years without my precious "you." I remember in our young days I heard the song "memories" and never paid attention to the words, but loved it for the beat. Well, six months after your death I was reintroduced to it, but this time reflected on the words. "Memories, precious memories of a love so true that's all I have left of you. The world was so simple and wonderful, it was a reflection of our special love and it was beautiful, but you finally said goodbye and left me with nothing but good times on my mind." Mike, you are always on my mind and will forever be in my heart and I will continue to look for your so much needed "signs." Remember, you're the best thing that ever happened to me. Love always, Gloria Rodriguez Chavez

REDD -- C.K. "Bud" Redd passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2007. He was just 2 months shy of his 94th birthday. Bud Redd was born on February 12, 1914 and moved to Albuquerque with his mother and sister as a small child. His mother, Viola, married Cliff G. Redd in 1923, who adopted Bud and his sister, Thelma on May 17, 1929. Bud married his old childhood friend, the gorgeous UNM beauty queen, Jane Sorenson, on October 9, 1937. At the time of the marriage, Bud was already selling real estate in Albuquerque and owned "six suits and a Packard automobile." He was in the real estate business for some 60 years, interrupted by a stint in the Army during W.W. II. During the war, Jane stayed home and raised the kids, had a Victory Garden and kept the home fires burning. After the War, and for decades, Bud devoted much of his spare time to raising money for the Red Cross, the Community Chest, the YMCA, the First Presbyterian Church and others. His civic endeavors included the Albuquerque Zoning Commission, the N.M. Real Estate Commission and many others. It seemed like our father knew everyone in Albuquerque and half of the people outside Albuquerque. He was industrious, highly respected and successful. His children, Robert King Redd, Bruce Creighton Redd, and Joan Redd, will miss him greatly as will his grandchildren, Samuel Redd, William Redd, Rachel Redd, Emily Ausbrook, Tres Zaglool, and especially his granddaughter, Meg Zins, who was his caretaker the last eleven years of his life. We invite all who knew Bud to a memorial service to be held at 11:00 a.m. on January 11, 2008 in the chapel at Sunset Memorial Park. Come and celebrate the life of a remarkable guy who loved Albuquerque and gave so much of himself to make Albuquerque the great city it is today.
