BREEN -- Diane, 48, of Albuquerque, passed away on February 10, 2008. She was born on August 11, 1959 to William and Beverly Matier. She is survived by her husband, of 16 years, Rock Breen; twin sons, Jason and Joshua Matier; her mother, Beverly Matier; granddaughter, Kaheya and grandson, Xavier; brothers, Dave, Jeff, Brian, Steve, Mike, Bill, and Mark; sister, Karen Morlack and numerous nieces and nephews. CHAVEZ -- Bernardo "Bernie" Chavez, 66, lifelong resident of Albuquerque passed away on Sunday February 10, 2008 at home with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Solomon and Guadalupe Chavez and sister, Priscilla Dauber. He is survived by his wife, Eva Chavez; daughter, Normanda Chavez; son, Gabriel Chavez; and beloved grandson, Gabriel Chavez Jr. He is also survived by his twin brother, Peter Chavez; brothers, Jacob Chavez, Robert Chavez; sisters, Frances Romero and Anna Maes and many other dear family and friends who loved and will miss him. Bernie was born and raised in Martineztown. He was a retired U. S. Postal Letter Carrier, a 1960 graduate of Albuquerque High School and an original member of Los Madrugadores Golf Club. COFFELT -- Junior Walter Coffelt, 82, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1993, passed away on Saturday, February 9, 2008. Walter was born November 27, 1925 the son of Walter and Clara Henderson Coffelt in Silver Lake, Missouri. He had worked as a security officer for LANL and NTS before he retired. He is a United States Navy Veteran of World War II. After serving his country, he lived in Los Angeles, CA from 1946 to 1961, then moved to Los Alamos, NM and in 1993 he moved to Rio Rancho. Walter is also a long time member of the VFW, the American Legion, and in recent years became a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tessie Coffelt; and one grandchild, Matthew Coffelt; six brothers; and two sisters. Survivors are three children, Everett, Kerry, and Theresa; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren; and one sister, Emma Hudson. Interment will be at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, February 15, 2008 at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe. The Memorial Service for Walter will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2008 at the Central Baptist Church, 501 Aztec NW, Albuquerque, with Pastor Hilcias Barrios officiating. DUCKETT -- Janet Roberta Duckett, age 77 of Placitas, NM, passed away Friday, February 8, 2008 at a local care facility. She was born on March 16, 1930 in Matawan, New Jersey to Tinius and Judith Disch. She married Robert Duckett on September 6, 1953 in Houston, Texas. ESQUIBEL -- Ivan Esquibel was called home to be with the Lord Jesus after a long courageous battle with colon cancer on Sunday, February 10, 2008. He was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque; and the owner and operator of Ivan's Lock and Key Mobile Service. He was preceded in death by Sam Esquibel, Jimmy Esquibel, Joey, and Rocky. Ivan is survived by his loving wife, Anna (Garcia) Esquibel; Tanya Bachicha, Preston Jacobs Jr., Dominique Castillo, Sophie Esquibel, Stella Lemke, Doretta Salazar, Doreen Castillo, Connie Armijo, Isabel Esquibel, Ed Joiner, Brian Trino, the Lucero, Garcia, and Romero families; as well as many other family members and friends. GARCIA -- Rafael M. Garcia, 79, of Willard, NM passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 in Albuquerque, NM with his loving family beside him. Rafael was born April 7, 1928 in Derramadero, NM to Luciano and Franciscita (Marquez) Garcia. Rafael married Dulcinia Marez in Portales, NM on May 5, 1946 who preceded him in death on September 25, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Edward Garcia and son-in-law, George Padilla. Rafael was a member of the Estancia Senior Center, Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Willard, and was a musician. Rafael and wife Dulcinia were very loving people who opened their home to many family members as well as friends. Rafael is survived by his sons, Ambrosio R. Garcia and wife, Maggie of Albuquerque, NM; Ernest M. Garcia and Esther Carter of Albuquerque, NM; Albert S. Padilla and wife, Brenda of Willard, NM; daughter, Lucinda V. GIBSON -- Michael W. Gibson, born November 20, 1957, lost his battle with cancer on February 1, 2008, in Wichita, KS. Originally from Los Alamos, NM, Mike lived most of his life in the Albuquerque area where he utilized his skills as a Journeyman Plumber. Mike was preceded in death by his grandfather, William C. Moxley; his father, Daniel L. Gibson; and his younger brother, James A. Gibson. He is survived by his grandmother, Wilma I. Moxley; his mother, Kathleen Gibson; three daughters, Tiffany Lynch (Jeremy) of Burlington, WI, Candice Perone (Steve) of Scottsdale, AZ, Faith L. Gibson of Albuquerque; and one son, Michael E. Gibson of Albuquerque. In addition, he is survived by his brother, Daniel L. Gibson (Anne) of Wichita, KS; two sisters, Myra A. Garcia (David A.) and Karen S. White (Darell Allen) of Albuquerque. Mike also has two stepbrothers: Mike and Tom (Tracy) Avina of Carlsbad, CA; and one stepsister, Lisa Lopez (Sergio) of Yuma, AZ. He has four grandchildren, and 12 nieces and nephews. HORCASITAS -- Nan Horcasitas, age 49 of Albuquerque, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2008 at a local hospital. She was born May 20, 1958 in Morris, IL to Lester and Bernace Kruger. Despite an auto accident in 1985 which left her confined to a wheel chair from a spinal cord injury; she attended not only TVI where she earned her associates degree in accounting, but also the College of Santa Fe were she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration. Upon graduation she opened and operated Nan's Office Works in Albuquerque, provided book keeping services for El Pinto Restaurant for many years, and was on the board of Directors of Hospitality, Inc. Surviving are her sister, Janet (Paul) Lukas of Joilet, IL; her brother, Edward Kruger of Chicago, IL; close friend and former husband, Richard Horcasitas of Albuquerque, NM; several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles; her close and dear friends, Arthur and Jeanne Burnley of Placitas, NM and Jim Garcia of Albuquerque, NM. LAIRD -- CLIFFORD E. Clifford E. Laird passed away on February 7. 2008. He was 82 years old and had been a resident of Albuquerque for 13 years. Cliff was both a veteran of WWII and Korea War. He is survived by his loving wife Emma Duco Laird; his two children C. E. Laird and Linda Weaks and their spouses. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The internment will take place in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

LANG -- Helen L. Lang, 86, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2008, after a long illness at her home. Helen was born October 5, 1922 in McPherson, KS, attended public schools, graduated from McPherson High School in 1940, and attended McPherson College for one year. She went to Denver, CO to attend Barnes School of Commerce (business school). While she was in Denver, she met John Lang, her now deceased husband, who was stationed at Lowrey Field, just outside of Denver. Helen left Denver and returned to McPherson for a period of time, and it was in McPherson on November 19, 1944, that Helen and John were married. Shortly after they were married, John was sent overseas for the duration of the war. Helen spent part of the time working in McPherson and the rest of the time working in Albuquerque, where she lived with John's mother and stepfather until John returned to the states. She continued working with the government in Albuquerque. John and Helen eventually built their own home. Helen worked for the government and was a Welcome Wagon Hostess. She was a longtime member of La Mesa Presbyterian Church and served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher. She also attended the Women's Bible Study Group luncheons at La Mesa Church. Helen was also a Girl Scout leader, a Cub Scout den mother, and did various other volunteer work. Helen is survived by her son, Ronald E. Lang; grandchildren, Debbie Gurule, Jonathan Scheller, Elizabeth Lang and Christopher Lang; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Budd. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lang and daughter, Judith Kay Scheller. Helen will be greatly missed by relatives and friends. MARTINEZ -- Larry Martinez, 61 went to be with his lord on February 10, 2008. He was born on November 26, 1946 in Roswell, NM to Ben and Trina Martinez. MOE -- Johnny B. Moe, 41, a resident of Santa Cruz, passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2008. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald E. Moe; brother, Chester C. Duran; sister, Judy Angel Moe and grandparents, Celestino and Jane Gallegos. Johnny was the owner of Moe Maintenance and was well known and respected through out Albuquerque and the Espamola Community. He was a wonderful husband, father, son and God-father, but most of all he was a wonderful caring and kind friend to everyone he knew and met along the path of life. He loved to fish, camp and loved children. He was always willing to help anyone in need and would say, "A good deed a day will never hurt anyone." He had the biggest heart. Johnny is survived by his son, Justin Moe; daughter, Linnea Moe, both of Albuquerque; mother of his children, Ana Lucia Moe of Albuquerque; mother, Sofie B. MORGAN -- BRENT K. On Monday February 11, 2008 Brent K. Morgan passed away unexpectedly at age 44. He is survived by his wife of 20 years Holly and their children Cameron, age 18, and Renee, age 12. He is also survived by his mom, Linda Morgan; brother, APD SGT., Ty Morgan, ; sister, Asti Morgan; grandma, Lelia Moore and grandmother, Ingrid Morgan; aunt, Marlane Norman; uncle, Eric Morgan; and several cousins. Brent was preceded in death by his father, Rees Morgan and grandfather, Casey Moore. After honorably serving 15 years in the United States Army Brent was currently completing his degree in Computer Science. PATTERSON -- Robert Rex Patterson was born December 10, 1938 in Watseka, Illinois to George O. and Ruth Helen Young Patterson. He died February 8, 2008 in Albuquerque. Bob graduated from Onarga High School in 1957 and attended the University of Illinois. While serving in the Army as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne "Screaming Eagles", he met and married Sharon Sue Wolfe on March 28, 1964. Bob and Sharon moved to Las Cruses, NM where he earned his B.S. and Masters Degree in fisheries biology from NMSU. After retiring from the NM Department of Game and Fish, Bob spent several years as an official umpire for Little League Baseball. When his son Bryan suffered a brain injury, he became an advocate for victims of brain injury, lobbying the legislature on their behalf. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; sons, Bryan (Tyrell) and David (Jamie); brother, George; sister, Ruth Ann (Bob) Glover; brothers-in-law, Scott (Donna) Wolfe and Grover (Susan) Wolfe; several nephews and nieces, and many, many friends. A Graveside Service with full military honors will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2008 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. STRANGE -- James Stevens Strange, an Albuquerque resident for 16 years, died Sunday, February 10, 2008. He was born March 11, 1965 in College Station, TX. Jay was a Registered Nurse in the OR at University of New Mexico Hospital. Jay worked his way through nursing school by bartending at Applebee's. Jay will be missed by all who knew him. He was a good friend and an outstanding nurse. Jay is survived by his mother, Elizabeth M. WADLEY -- Marsha Louise Wadley Born October 15, 1958 died February 10, 2008 at age 49. Marsha was born in Albuquerque to Mattie B. Williams (Wadley) a beloved member of Grant Chapel AME Church who preceded her in death.
