James Stevens Strange, an Albuquerque resident for 16 years, died Sunday, February 10, 2008. He was born March 11, 1965 in College Station, TX. Jay was a Registered Nurse in the OR at University of New Mexico Hospital. Jay worked his way through nursing school by bartending at Applebee's. Jay will be missed by all who knew him. He was a good friend and an outstanding nurse. Jay is survived by his mother, Elizabeth M. Tarchala of Porter, IN; siblings, Shaun (Richard) Beecher of Martinsville, IN, Gene (Emily) Strange of Arlington, TX, Peggy (Charles) Thomas of Portage, IN, and Colleen (Jan) Olstad of Albuquerque; six nieces and nephews; aunt, Anita (Eloy) Serna of Albuquerque, uncle, Theodore (Jeanie) Stephens of Palo Alto, CA. He was preceded in death by his father, James Strange, sister, Sherry Strange and step-father, Barney Tarchala. Visitation will be Friday, February 15, 2008, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd., NE. Services and burial will be in Chesterton, IN where he will be buried next to his sister, Sherry.
