Obituary for BERTINETTI

DOMINIC F. Memorial Service for Dominic F. Bertinetti will be held at 10 a.m. on January 4, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church 1800 Redrock Dr., Gallup, NM. "Uncle Floyd" died December 30, 2007 born July 25, 1937. Uncle Floyd to those who were close to him was also known as the "Cake Man" to many in Gallup. Uncle Floyd graduated from Gallup High School in 1956, then served his country in the United States Air Force. He then attended bookkeeping school in Albuquerque. After spending 4 years in Colorado he returned to Gallup. He lived in Zuni for several years finally moving back to Gallup to care for his parents. He worked for a local business before retiring. His love for young people and helping others brought him out of retirement and he began working at Central High School serving lunches to the staff and students. He also served the community during the summer months, working for the summer lunch program. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dominic and Helen Bertinetti and two nieces. He is survived by two brothers, David and Jerry Bertinetti; and one sister, Melvina Lewis all of Gallup; four nieces and one nephew; six great-nieces and six great-nephews. A family reception will be held following the Memorial Service at the First United Methodist Church.
