MCGUIRE -- RUTH E. Ruthie returned to heaven on April 16, 2007. She is survived by a son, Gene Pennington; daughter, Brenda Ostertag and husband, Daniel; daughter, Maryann Wersonick and husband, David Laurie; granddaughter, Jennifer Bernard; and two great-granddaughters, Stevie and Caitlin, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a co-founder for the Association for Education of Handicapped Children here in New Mexico and was a lady locksmith for 27 years at Duke City Lock and Key. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother, confidant and loyal friend to many. She was an avid writer of poetry and songs that poured from her gentle heart. She always had a smile and a kind word. She wished to be remembered for her immeasurable sense of humor and generous heart that brought joy and smiles to so many more than she realized. We who were blessed to know her will cherish her memory in our hearts, and she will walk in our souls forever. Memorial Service and Mass is on April 27, 2007 5:30 p.m. at Queen Of Heaven. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St Jude's Children's Hospital.

MCTERNAN -- Carolyn Rita Crow McTernan was 77 years old, born on March 2, 1930, and passed away on April 20, 2007. Carolyn passed away from complications due to a mild stroke after living with Alzheimer's for nine years. She leaves behind Patrick (Jim) McTernan, her husband and her love for 52 years; William Crow of Tajunga, CA; a brother; six children, Michelle McTernan of Kansas City MO and partner, Donna Wessner, Hugh McTernan of Arlington, VA and wife, Coy, Michael McTernan of Albuquerque, NM and wife, Tracy, Rita (McTernan) Slack of Jacksonville, FL and husband, Kevin, William McTernan of Albuquerque, NM and wife, Suzanne, and Stephen McTernan of Albuquerque, NM; 14 grandchildren, Shannon (McTernan) Frei, Sheena (McTernan) Ramos, Lucas McTernan, Jacob McTernan, Amber Slack, Kylie Slack, Meaghan Slack, Rachael Slack, Zoey Slack, Jenna Slack, Brendan McTernan, Nate McTernan, Katherine McTernan, and Lauren McTernan; two great-grandchildren, Devon Ramos and Taj Frei. Carolyn and Jim attended St. Louis grade school at 59th and Swope Parkway in Kansas City, MO. Carolyn graduated from Hogan High School. In 1997, Jim and Carolyn moved to Rio Rancho, NM where they attended St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She enjoyed watching her youngest son, Stephen (who has Down's syndrome) participate in the Rio Rancho Special Olympics. She also was proud to see him working at Albertson's in Rio Rancho. Carolyn was an example of Christ's Love here on earth; 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8 She was always patient, kind, not envious, not boasting, never proud, she didn't dishonor others, not self-seeking, not easily angered, kept no record of wrongs, did not delight in evil but rejoiced in the truth. She always trusted, hoped, and persevered - her love never failed. Everyone that new Carolyn loved her and her beautiful smile. Viewing and Rosary will be held at French's Mortuary on Golf Course Rd. and Paradise in Albuquerque, NM at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2007. The funeral service will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2007. PARTIN -- Charles W. "Chuck" Partin, 55, of Albuquerque passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2007. He was born March 2, 1952 in Albuquerque to Tech Sgt. U.S.A.F. Graham H. and Waneta Partin. He was an auto mechanic for many years in and around the Albuquerque area. In his spare time he enjoyed drawing. He is survived by his mother, Waneta B. Partin-Weatherhead of Albuquerque; step-children, Micheal Walter of Utah, Bruce Crosby of Valencia County, Krista Crosby of Albuquerque; step-brother, Dan Weatherhead of Albuquerque; step-sister, Sandra Kirsch of CA; and several step-grandchildren and nieces as well as cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bobbie Partin in 1972; his father, Graham H. Partin in 1959; and his step-father, Paul Weatherhead in 1989. Services will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2007, 2:00 p.m., at Temple Baptist Church, 1613 Arizona Northeast. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. PAYNE -- RICHARD BRETT In Loving Memory of Richard Brett Payne January 9, 1964 - April 18, 2007 Richard Brett Payne, 43, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully in his sleep from natural causes on Wednesday, April 18, 2007. He is survived by his father, Orville R. Payne; sisters, Vicki Martinez and husband, Jeff of Espanola, Christy Bridges and husband, Rocky of Farmington, Bridget Payne of Albuquerque; and brother, Tim Payne and wife, Michelle of Albuquerque. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many special friends. Richard was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Payne. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend to many. Richard was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and was very happy when they won their "one for the thumb." He proclaimed to be an expert fisherman (actually he was pretty good)! He enjoyed cooking, bowling, and a good Jack and Coke. His family and friends will deeply miss his smile, sense of humor and general good will. ROMERO -- Petrita Romero passed away April 20, 2007 in Albuquerque, surrounded by her family. She was born in Monticello, New Mexico on May 29, 1912, to Delfino and Virginia Montoya. Petrita was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who touched the lives of all who came in contact with her. She is survived by her children, daughters, Gloria M. Chavez and her husband, George, Jeanne Cuaron and her husband, Gilbert of Albuquerque; son, Andy Romero and his wife, Pauline of Corona, CA.; sisters, Martha Romero and Rosie Padilla; grandchildren, Jolene Smith, Marianne Anaya, Melody Nagel, Laura Wilson, Karla Silver, Deanna Smith, Darryl Romero, Andrea Romero, Eileen Romero, Charlie Cuaron, Crystal Kirschman; 21 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and numerous relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her two husbands Pat A. Romero and Leo Espinosa; her daughter, Gladys Pike, and her son, Spec. 5 Charles A. Romero, who was killed in Vietnam, on September 5, 1969.
