MONTGOMERY -- Ann Louise Montgomery entered Eternal Life on Christmas Day 2007, after a courageous battle with numerous disabilities since birth. She was born in Albuquerque on June 26, 1935. Ann always maintained a cheerful attitude and a positive outlook. She always had a warm greeting for everyone. Ann spread sunshine wherever she went. Her Christian beliefs were her strength throughout her life. Despite her many disabilities she graduated from Highland High School. She continued her education at College of Emporia, KS, graduated with a degree in Religion and Education. Ann furthered her education at Teachers State College in Kansas and continued her degree at Western New Mexico in Silver City. She studied Hebrew under Rabbi Shore. Ann is survived by a sister, Christine Demijohn; brother, Ray Montgomery; two loving nieces, Hollie Roerick and Kara Gibson; loving nephews, Eddie Erickson, Gene Montgomery, Dustin and Justin Montgomery, and Ray Montgomery; three great nephews, Alex, Monty and Max; and one great niece, Christine Ann. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Thelma Montgomery; and nephew, Scott Erickson. Ann loved her family. Services will be held Sunday, December 30, 2007, 1:00 p.m., at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 114 Carlisle SE. Interment will be held on Monday, December 31, 2007, 1:00 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. PEARSON -- Margarito Alejandro, 54, "Alex" passed away peacefully December 25th, 2007. He was an honorable veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a hard working, intelligent, handsome outdoorsman, who loved serving God, fishing for trout in Pilar and watching Ultimate Fighting. We are certain he is fishing in the beautiful streams of heaven with his beloved mother, Rose. He will be missed by his three children, Desiree Martinez, her husband Earl James and grandchildren, Amber, Joseph, Ezekiel, and Abigail of Chama; Alex III, his wife Sharon and grandchildren Alex IV, Santiago, and Christopher of Albuquerque; Isaac and new wife Marlayna Lechuga Pearson of Albuquerque; loving sister Judy Fannoun, brother-in-law Tony and nieces Melinda and Elizabeth, all of California; brother Fidel, wife Theresa and niece and nephews James, Samuel, Amanda, and Mark Anthony of Bosque Farms; father Margarito Alejandro Valdez, and half brother and sister Chris Valdez and Carol Sisneros of Colorado and numerous other relatives living in Taos. Alex's faith, generosity, and sense of humor, will be missed by all; along with his heartfelt prayers, practical jokes, and talent at the grill. All who knew this strong, God loving man were impressed and touched by his strength even in the worst of times. He was a wonderful dad, brother, grandfather, and friend. We will miss you Dad, and our lives will not be the same without you. PESCETTI -- James "Buddy" Pescetti, Sr., 59, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 28 years, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2007. Buddy was born April 7, 1948 in Queens, New York. Buddy was preceded in death by one son, Jason Pescetti in January 2007. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Joanne of the family home; two children, James Pescetti, Jr. and his wife, Kristina Palya of Albuquerque, and Jillian Pescetti of Rio Rancho; four grandchildren, Jazmyn, Jeremy, Tyler, and Rachel. RASMUSSEN -- Robert J. Chief Warrant Officer, Robert J. Rasmussen, USAF, Ret., a resident of Albuquerque, died December 22, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Betty Rasmussen and his many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gladys Rasmussen. CWO Rasmussen served his country in the US Air Force for 30 years. His service during WWII was with the Eighth Air Force and was shot down over Germany and became a prisoner of war. During his distinguished career he received the Air Medal, the Joint Services Commendation Medal and the Purple Heart. RAYBON -- Virginia Gabriella Ashe-Raybon, 83, soared toward heaven on Dec. 29, 2007, after a short illness. She is survived by: her loving husband of 19 years, Grady Raybon; her children, Virginia L. Raybon of Albuquerque, Kateri Adkins and her husband Allen of Farmington, N.M.; Karen Smith of Tucson, Ariz.; Michael Smith and his wife Sandra; her children and their grandchildren in Albuquerque; Chuck Smith and his wife Veronica, and their daughter Gabriella of Rio Rancho. Virginia is also survived by her five sisters, Flora Paiz, Angela Rodriguez and husband Albert, Grace Olivas and husband Nick, Lisa Chavez and husband Ray, and Stella Archuletta and husband Steve, and her four brothers, Arthur Ashe and wife Debra Lee, Joseph and wife Marcella, Reyes and wife Elizabeth, and Patrick and wife Gloria and two sisters-in-law, Helen and Liz Ashe. Virginia was a nurse practitioner for over 30 years in Albuquerque at Presbyterian Hospital and Lovelace Medical Center. Her friends knew her as "Smitty." Virginia was one of 15 children. She was preceded in death by her parents Eliza and Arthur Ashe of Buena Vista, N.M., her sisters Sarah Ashe, Susie, and her brothers Arturo, Emilio and Albert. Virginia leaves behind numerous nephews, nieces and friends who will greatly miss her. Services are pending. STRONG -- Jan - (Mona Janice) Strong was born January 4, 1952, the daughter of Mona Lou and Addison Strong, in Albuquerque where she spent her life with the exception of a few years in Hawaii. She loved the city of Albuquerque and living at Park Plaza among friends. She is survived by her mother, Mona Lou Strong; her twin sister; and best friend Lynn Blackburn; her sister Donna Strong; her daughter Clarie Miller and Clarie's husband Brett and four grandchildren, Ty, Shelby, Tanner and Kyleigh. She is also survived by her nephew, Wes Blackburn; nieces Victoria Strong and her daughter Alexia; her Aunt Alice Whitehill; and cousins Dan Wilson, Kathy Spiess and their families; her mother in law Betty Brown; and many loving cousins. She was preceded in death by her father Addison Strong; and grand and great grand parents, the Strongs and Wilsons, long time Albuquerque residents. She worked for Core-Mark International Inc., whose continued concern and friendship has been heartwarming. She passed away December 22, 2007. Jan never let the cancer define her, continuing her life in every way living each day with a smile, independently and to the fullest. Jan loved her life and felt blessed always. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Chapel 215 Locust St. N. E. January 4 Friday at 3:00 p.m. A celebration of her life will follow at Park Plaza 1331 Park Ave. S.W. THOMPSON -- Lois Brown Thompson, 94, died on Wednesday, December 27, 2007. She is survived by her brothers, Harold Brown and David Brown and wife, Virginia; her daughter, Loi Carlson and husband, Erik; son, David Thompson and wife, Claudia; daughter, Judy Howard and husband, Bob; 11 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Meredith; a son, Robert Arnold; and her parents, John Nicolai Brown and Ada Johnson Brown. Lois was a nurse, active in Lutheran Church activities, a rose consultant and the BEST mom. A private family celebration of her life will be held.
