BLAKE -- Curtis H. Blake passed away on August 20, 2007 at the age of 73. Curtis was a loving and respected husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was born on February 4, 1934 in Radford, VA to Mrs. Jessie Frazier. Curtis is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Clara; daughters, Deborah Blake, formally of Albuquerque now residing in Grand Prairie, TX and Denise and husband, Michael; the second love of his life, granddaughter, Michelle Armand of Los Angeles, CA; son, Anthony Blake and wife, Lynne; and grandson, Seth Tidwell, all of Albuquerque. Curtis served honorably in the United States Air Force. This opportunity took him and his family to several countries, which included England, Guam, Okinawa, Japan, as well as many different states. Curtis was a recipient of the Purple Heart during his duty in the Vietnam War and retired after 23 years of service. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked with and later retired from the United States Postal Service, where he met many long time friends. After his last retirement, he spent countless hours watching his much loved sports, especially the Miami Dolphins and the Atlanta Braves. Really, he enjoyed any sport with a score. He and his wife were avid bowlers and were members of the Post Office bowling league for years at the Leisure Bowl on Lomas. The family wishes to thank Danielle Pete and the staff at Vista Care Hospice. Pallbearers will be Ron Marquez, Kenny Madrid, Matt Ayers, Seth Tidwell, Ryan Tidwell, and Ryan Bumphrey. CAPENER -- Maria Deluvina Capener, age 69, passed away at home on Monday, August 20, 2007. She was a resident of the Village of Los Ranchos, NM. Maria was born on July 8, 1938 in Los Lunas, NM to Juan and Mary Otero. She was preceded in death by her father, Juan Otero; brothers, Ernesto, Patrick, David Otero; and sister, Rosa Brenton. Maria is survived by her husband of 46 years, Glenn Capener; her children, Steven Capener of Albuquerque, Glenn Capener Jr. and wife, Gina of Santa Fe, Richard Capener and wife, Camille of Albuquerque. Maria had two grandsons and eight granddaughters who she loved and was very proud of. She is also survived by her mother, Mary Otero of Los Lunas; brothers, Alcario, Michael and Andy Otero all of Los Lunas; sisters, Tina Silva and husband, Johnny of Belen, Joann Trujillo and husband, Phil of Los Lunas; brother-in-law, Odell Capener and wife, Lorraine of Payette, Idaho; numerous nephews, nieces, and friends. Maria was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be missed dearly. A memorial service and interment will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Friday, August 24, 2007 at 11:00 a.m.. CARSON -- Callie Carson, Lt. Col. U.S. Army, retired, a longtime resident of New Mexico, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2007 in Albuquerque after a long illness. Ms. Carson lived a full and happy life, and she lived it "her way." She was a generous and giving person who touched many lives. She will be missed by all who knew her. CULLER -- Mabel June Culler Porter passed away peacefully on August 15, 2007 after going through her normal morning routine of making a pot of coffee about 4:00 a.m. and lying back down for a while before waking her beloved grandkids Danny and Shawna for school. She was loved and admired by everyone she met for being a devoted mother, grandmother, friend, co-worker and more than anything, a generous and caring human being. She will be missed very much. June was born in Albuquerque, NM on June 15, 1931 to Yourie H. Porter and Leta B. Sutton. She graduated from AHS in 1948 and had a wonderful adolescence with her mother; step-father, Earl; sisters, Myrline and Myrtle; brother, RL; and friends, Mary and Katy. Much of her childhood and early adult years were spent with family and friends in and around Corona, NM. She had many great memories and stories about everything from rattlesnake hunting, to chasing boys and family time with husband Earl and successive kids Debbie, Bill, Stefanie, David and finally the unexpected one, little Tommy. Her loving niece, Bertha, was never left behind in the early years. A tireless worker, she started at Albuquerque Stationery downtown, went on to work close to 30 years at the horse races during the State Fair, at The Downs, and in Santa Fe, and finally settled in at the Bridge St. Family Dollar store where she was their best worker for 8 years, going well into her seventies. Some of her favorite years were spent with daughter Stefanie who she worked with, was her best friend and loved to shop and talk. She was a lifelong resident of 911 Gatewood in the South Valley where she had countless friends, neighbors and acquaintances. June is survived by her two sons, Bill (wife, Terry) and David (wife, Sonia); her grandkids, Amanda and Jennifer, Danny and Shawna, Megan and Song Song; her ex-husband, Earl; and her son-in-law Art Hennigas. June has another son that shared coffee with her every morning and whose commitment and understanding meant the world to her, Gary Cortez. JOHNSON -- Doris J. Johnson, age 75, resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 19, 2997 after a short illness. Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald L. Johnson in 2001. Doris was born in St. Louis, MO in 1932 and moved to Albuquerque while in Jr. High School. Doris is survived by her four sons and their families: son Darrell L. Johnson of Moreno Valley, CA, granddaughter Kristen, grandson Corey, granddaughter Katelin, and great-grandson Donovan. Son Stephen L. Johnson and his wife Ruth of Rio Rancho, NM. Son Ronald A. Johnson and his wife Eileen of San Diego, CA, grandson Dylan, and granddaughter Morgan. Son Daren K. Johnson and his wife Kristy of Albuquerque, NM, grandson Kevin, granddaughter Brittny, and grandson Kyle. Doris is also survived by her brother Darwin Glaese and his wife Barbara of Boynton Beach, FL and her sister Marion F. Dixon of Albuquerque, NM. Doris has been an Avon Sales Representative for the last 24 years where she received numerous awards. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, August 25, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. at Fellowship Christian Church, 4800 Indian School Rd. in Albuquerque. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Doris Johnson's name.

KING -- Christiana King, age 95, of Albuquerque, entered into her eternal rest Sunday, August 19, 2007. She was the thirteenth of sixteen children born to Sarah and William Taylor, on Christmas day, 1911 in Mullin, TX. Christiana was the last remaining of the Taylor children. She lived in Portales, NM, for many years where she met J.R. King. They were married on November 29, 1933. He preceded her in death in 1986. They raised their six children in Albuquerque. Christiana was a faithful member of the Riverside Church of Christ for many years. She is survived by daughters, Janet Kerr of Amarillo, TX, Nancy Quintana and husband, Mike of Austin, TX, Cholly Johnson and husband, Loren of Assaria, KS; sons, Randy King and wife, Freda of Joplin, MO, John King and wife, Sandra of Amarillo, TX; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mari King and a great-grandson, Johnathan Joplin. LUCAS -- Rachel Lucas (Ogami) died Sunday, August 19, 2007. She was born in St. Louis, MO, December 28, 1968. Rachel was one of four children. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Stacey Lynn and Gretchen Renee; her nephew, Josh; and her grandparents. She is survived by her parents, Jesse and Evelyn Lucas; her fiance, Dewey Teague; her brother and his family, Jesse Lucas Jr., Lynette Lucas, nephews, Travis, Matthew, Dillon, and Zachary Lucas. Many wonderful aunts and uncles. Many beloved cousins and great cousins. Beautiful, wonderful, and loyal friends, neighbors, and caregivers. Her wonderful church family. Rachel graduated from Manzano High School and went to TVI then to Grand Junction College in CO and Arizona State University. She was a few credits away from her Bachelors Degree in English when she went blind and was unable to finish. Rachel was active in church and loved to go shopping mainly for others. She loved to do artwork, when she could see and she also wrote beautiful poetry and won many contests. Rachel served two terms as the New Mexico State MDA poster child starting in 1981. Rachel enjoyed music, movies, going out to eat, traveling and she really enjoyed her green house planting plants and flowers. We would like to extend great thanks to the Presbyterian Hospital ICU and Kaseman Hospice Staff for their great loving care and support. Our great loss will be Heavens great gain. MARTINEZ -- Edmund Lucio Martinez of Beaulaville, NC, died on August 13, 2007 from advanced Parkinson's Disease. Edmund was a longtime Albuquerque resident prior to relocating to North Carolina over 20 years ago. He was raised in Gallup and was the son of Jose Inez Martinez and Abedonia Mirabel Martinez. He is survived by his wife, Joy; his son, Wesley; his granddaughter, Marty (all residents of North Carolina); his brother, Jose Martinez (of Albuquerque); his sister, Tarsilla Martinez Davidson (of Conway, Arkansas); and many nephews and nieces. Edmund was a World War II veteran and honorably served in the United States Navy for over 30 years. Upon his naval retirement Edmund was an instructor at the University of New Mexico. His remains will be interned at sea.

MEYER -- Ernest A. Meyer, Jr., 61, passed away August 15, 2007. He was born August 26, 1945 to Ernest and Virginia Meyer. Ernie was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his mother; brothers, Thomas Meyer and wife, Debbie, Robert Meyer and wife, Vicki; sisters, Carol Wageley and husband, Steve, Janet Telford and husband, Daniel; along with numerous nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces, and extended family in Eastport, Long Island. He is also survived by two special friends, Andy Cain and Steve Clapper; his former wife, Millie Meyer; numerous friends and co-workers in the St. Louis area; and friends throughout the country. Cremation has taken place. MORE -- Terry Hill More, age 58, passed away July 24, 2007, of an apparent heart attack. He was the beloved son of Edward Anson More, and the late Marion Hill More, and stepson of Christine Bercaw More. Terry was born in Pittsburgh, PA on April 25, 1949. He lived in Cincinnati, OH, and attended Indian Hill High School. He graduated from Millersburg Military Academy in Millersburg, KY and was commissioned a Lt. Colonel in the ROTC. He attended Los Angeles Pierce College and produced the campus radio show, the "Terrible Terry Radio Show". He was employed by the Kendun Recording Studio in Burbank, CA for 15 years, where he produced musical albums for Sergio Mendes, Stan Kenton, and Cher, as well as other leading musicians. He moved to Albuquerque and was a computer programmer for Great Western Animal Health Supply for 12 years. Terry is survived by his parents and his two brothers, Edward Anson More III, of Tijeras, NM, and Stephen Chase More, of Los Lunas, NM; and stepsister, Cheryl Lewis of Dunedin, FL. A private memorial service will be held later in Albuquerque, and in Cape Coral, FL, home of his parents.

SANCHEZ -- Juan J. Sanchez, 82, went to be with the Lord on August 18, 2007. Juan was a lifetime resident of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, North Valley. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dolores Sanchez; his children, Jose Sanchez and Sandra Barela, Ronnie Sanchez and his wife, Annie Marie, Evelyn Harris and her husband, Kenneth; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Sophia Johnson; 14 godchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Juan was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ambrosio and Plaxedes Sanchez; son, David Sanchez; sisters, Sarafina Chavez and Corina Duran. He retired from the Santa Fe Railroad after 42 years of service. Juan was a devout Roman Catholic. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Japan during Occupational Forces after World War II. He was a member of the SNMDMP #2 of Alameda, NM and the American Legion Post 69. A loving father, godfather, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for everyone's concern and compassion during this difficult time. THOMPSON -- Jane Thompson, age 93, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2007 at her home at La Vida Llena Retirement Community in NE Albuquerque. She was predeceased by her husband of over 60 years, F. Burt Thompson, almost 10 years ago. She is survived by her four children, Dr. Tommy (Peggy) Thompson of Reno, NV, Dr. Jack (Dawn) Thompson of Clarkston, MI, Robert (Donna) Thompson of Edgewood, NM, and Ann (Jack) Steele of Mesquite, NV. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and by two sisters, Jo (Bud) Moore of Garden Grove, CA, and Elizabeth (Horace) Elliott of Sun City, AZ. She was born on April 20, 1914 in Devol, OK to John Manly and Linda Ollie Shaw. She graduated from high school in Amarillo, TX and moved to Tucumcari, NM with her husband where her four children were born. They also lived in Las Vegas, NM for 6 years and moved to Albuquerque in 1957. She and her husband were faithful and active members of the Trinity Baptist Church in Tucumcari, the First Baptist Church in Las Vegas, and Heights Baptist and First Baptist Churches in Albuquerque. She was an accomplished seamstress, making most of the clothes for herself and her children. She was also an accomplished cook and pie maker. She and her husband were active in a craft and travel group known as the Blackfeet Tribe and visited many foreign lands and made beautiful flower and photo crafts for their homes. Funeral arrangements are being handled by French's Mortuary at 1111 University NE (Phone: (505-843-6333) in Albuquerque. Internment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

WRIGHT -- Lois M. Wright, age 82, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, was called to Eternal Life by the Lord, Monday, August 20, 2007. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA, and married her High School sweetheart, Al in 1945, then proceeded to move to Albuquerque in 1947. Lois retired from the University of New Mexico after 27 years of dedicated service. She was a volunteer at the Albuquerque Convention and Visitor Bureau. She will be fondly remembered as "the Lady" who loved to teach the neighborhood children to kick a football. Lois will be greatly missed by her loving family and by those whose hearts she touched. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert H. Wright; parents, Milton and Helen Lew; and a brother, William Lew. Lois is survived by her loving daughter, Stacy Schroeder and her husband, Milt; her precious granddaughter, Katie Schroeder; her step-grandchildren, Jessica Izzard, and Elizabeth Schroeder; her brother, M. John Lew; and other family members and friends. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Jill, Jamie, and staff of the Copper Rose; as well as to Dorie and the staff of Amber Care Hospice, for the wonderful care given to Lois.
