GALLEGOS -- Robert A. In Loving Memory of Robert A. Gallegos December 21, 2004 On Your First Anniversary God knew you were failing, that the hills were hard to climb, so he gently closed your eye lids and whispered "Peace Be Thine." In tears we watched you leaving and watched you being carried away. Our hearts were near to breaking. You fought so hard to stay. It broke our hearts to see you go but you did not go alone for part of us went with you as you left to rest in your new eternal home. This past year has been the most difficult time for all of us. Once again, our lives have been changed forever. This Christmas will be so hard for us to try and get through it. You wanted to come home for Christmas so much. We live each day wondering what went wrong but once more we are left with unanswered questions. I hope someday we will understand the reasons why. You are loved and missed so much. We think about you every day. "We miss you Papa." Sampson, Lexy, Nic, and Little Robert You will never be forgotten Your Loving Family

PEREZ -- ELSIE G. IN LOVING MEMORY MY FIRST CHRISTMAS IN HEAVEN I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below With tiny lights, like Heaven's stars, reflecting on the snow. The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away the tear For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year. I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear But the sounds of music can't compare with the Christmas choir up here. I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring, For it is beyond description, to hear the angels sing. I know how much you miss me; I see the pain inside your heart But I am not so far away, we really aren't apart. So be happy for me, dear ones, you know I hold you dear And be glad I'm spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year. I sent you each a special gift, from my heavenly home above. I sent you each a memory of my undying love. After all, love is a gift more precious than pure gold It was always most important in the stories Jesus told. Please love and keep each other, as the Father said to do. For I can't count the blessings or love He has for each of you. So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that tear Remember, I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year. - Author Unknown With Love Samuel and Thomas

Dolores was known to say, ". . . a lady who will tell her age will tell everything." She did not tell. Dolores, a proud Colonel's wife, lived in El Paso most of her adult years, and was a retired teacher. After a brief attempt at making Albuquerque, NM her home, she lived her final five years in the DFW area near her nephew, Dale A. Lancaster. She was born in Washington D.C. and was a graduate of George Washington University. She was a former member of the Kappa Delta Society, and the El Paso and Albuquerque Women's Clubs, and a former member of the First Baptist Church, El Paso, TX. Some of her fondest memories were of her childhood years living in a home built by her father, Robert E. Lancaster Sr., in Chevy Chase, MD on Oliver Street. Also sharing most cherished memories was from her regular appearances on the TV show, "Inga's Angle," a beauty program on NBC TV in D.C. And, she was thrilled to be part of a cast for the movie, "Price of Peace." She had a great love of music (particularly at the symphony), art, nature, and cats. Dolores was preceded in death by: husband, Col. Eldon Woerner Schmid; father, Robert E. Lancaster, Sr.; mother, Annie Marie Gulley Lancaster; brother, Robert E. Lancaster, Jr., and his wife, Margaret (Peg). She is survived by: rescue cats, Baby Doll and Sherrie; daughter, Carole Doellen Burton, and her husband, Wayne of Albuquerque, NM; grandson, Scott Randolph Burton and his wife, Irene and their son, Noah of Los Lunas, NM; grandson, Craig Montgomery Burton; nephew, Dale A. Lancaster and his wife, Tracy of Murphy, TX; niece, Jane Stamey and her husband, Charles of Asheville, NC; nephew, Robert E. Lancaster, III, and his wife, Cheryl of Charlotte, NC; nephew, Richard Lancaster of Indian Head, MD. Dolores was most grateful for her best friend, Louise Drumheller of La Laz, NM. She frequently, fondly said that Louise was, "like a sister to me." A virtually life-long, very dear friend, Doris "Holly" Dougherty of Concord, NC, who had stayed pen pals to the end, was particularly faithful in the last five years when Dolores wasn't writing back. Holly's cards and letters were a source of sunshine for Dolores. Louise and Holly, take a big bow - Dolores loves you more than you'll ever know. Thank God for good friends and family who give unconditional love.
