Obituary for ROMERO

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Wednesday December 07, 2005

Joshua "J.R." Romero, age 17, was a resident of Los Lunas, NM. On Friday, December 2, 2005, Our Lord Jesus opened up his arms and called our beloved son and brother home to join his loved ones whom have preceded him in death. Josh brought great joy to his parents on July 2, 1988, when he was born. He was born and raised in Los Lunas, where he grew up to be a fine young man that was loved by everyone who knew him. He touched the lives of so many people in the short time that he was with us. Josh was active in sports. He played baseball, basketball, and wrestled. However, football was his sport of choice. Josh also enjoyed the great outdoors. He loved to go fishing, camping, hunting, and water skiing. Josh enjoyed staying home and spending time with his brother Gabe, watching movies and playing X-box. Most of all he enjoyed being with his girlfriend, Jessica whom he loved dearly and had hoped to marry. Josh loved being around family and friends. He always greeted others with hugs and kindness. Josh was always ready to help and would willingly put aside whatever he was doing to assist others. Josh was loved by everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed and will forever live in our hearts. We truly believe that Josh was an angel sent to us by God. Josh is survived by his parents, Anthony and Victoria Romero; his brother, Gabriel; his girlfriend, Jessica Murillo of Los Lunas; his maternal grandmother, Marcella Piro and companion, Jose Mendez; great-grandmother, Mariana Mendoza of Los Lunas; paternal grandparents, Jesus and Lucy Romero of Peralta; great-grandmothers, Chanita Romero and Margaret Rael; his aunts and uncles, Cynthia Mendoza, Camile Contreras and husband, Raymond, Dorie Ann Romero and companion, Rodney Molina, Joseph Romero and wife, Teresa; cousins, Dominic Sosa, Amanda Sisneros, Daniel Romero, Robert and Eric Romero, Robyn Mendoza, Alex Apodaca, Rebekah and Karyn Sanchez and Jonathan Contreras; several great aunts, uncles, and second cousins.
