CLAYCOMB -- Dale In Memory of Dale Emory Claycomb December 29, 1952 -- January 29, 2003 World's Best Dad Dear Dale, It's been one year today that I received the worst phone call of my life...the news that left us devastated...the one that changed my life forever. There isn't a day that goes by where something doesn't cross my path, bringing your face, your smile, your memory to mind. Sometimes its seeing Lifeguard high up in the sky and remembering when I used to wonder if you were with them on that flight. Other times it happens when Albuquerque Ambulance passes by me reminding me of the times I rode with you as a third rider. Most of the time, though, it's a song on the radio that still brings tears to my eyes, because I miss you so much. Looking at Alex, everyday, helps a lot because her eyes, her love and her smile are all you. She keeps your picture by her bed and hugs you every morning and every night. She's been dreaming about you a lot lately, which are answers to her prayers. Stephanie misses you too...and wonders how her wedding day will be without her dad there. Your friends at Sandia Labs and Lifeguard miss you so much and have done so many wonderful things for our little girl...they have so much love for you and her. Christmas was so hard without you there...the first time you weren't there to open gifts with us. I miss you, Dale, more than words could ever express. I missed you at Alex's kindergarten graduation, her first day of first grade, and her Christmas performance. I wish I didn't have to go through life raising her without you. You loved her more than life and you were her knight in shining armor. George has been wonderful to us and says you will always be a part of the family. He doesn't want to replace you ever, he's just helping to fill the void, especially for Alex. Dale, I want you to know that you will forever live on in my heart and you will never be forgotten. Thank you for giving me the most beautiful little girl in the world. She will always know what a hero her dad was. Thank you for being a father to Stephanie when her dad chose not to be. We love you and miss you more than ever, and hope we will all be together again, in God's perfect world, some day. Love always and forever, Giovanna, Stephanie and Alex.
