Hilary -- In Memoriam Anna B. Hilary March 15, 1910 - September 27, 2001Today, we remember our mother with both sadness and gladness. Sad that she is no longer with us in person, but glad that she had been our mother. Her life was not an easy one, especially during the Depression and the early years of marriage to our father. They moved quite often to follow job opportunities and lived at Ft. Hancock, NJ during WWII. They finally settled in Kenmore, NY a suburb of Buffalo, where she lived for over 40 years. Our father died in 1980. She was a devoted wife and mother always putting her family first and facing each new challenge with courage and determination. She was active in her church and YWCA and was a voracious reader and unbeatable"game player", Scrabble was her specialty second only to crossword puzzles. After moving to Albuquerque in 1992, partly because she was promised"no more blizzards", she led a quiet life of self-contentment. Her gentle sense of humor, occasionally interspersed with a playful barb, lasted to her final hours. She remains with us today in our hearts and memories. She has merely gone ahead as always to prepare a place for us to be together again. With all our love, Sue, Carol and Richard.
