Bannerman -- Jacqueline (Jackie) Marie Bannerman died on August 28, 2002. Born August 11, 1921 in Chadron, Nebraska, she married Edward James Sexton Bannerman of Edgemont, S. D. on March 31, 1946. Jackie and Ed lived in Rangely and Grand Junction, Colorado, and have been residents of Grants, New Mexico since 1960. Jackie was active in theatrical productions when she lived in Colorado and she was a Matron of the Eastern Star Chapter in Grants, New Mexico. She worked at Capri Jewelers in Grants and was active in the Women's Auxiliary of the Cibola General Hospital. Jackie was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Turnbull Potts; and her father, John Denman Potts. She is survived by her husband, Ed Bannerman; her daughter, Candy Bannerman and husband, Don Bryan; and her sons, John Bannerman and wife, Vicki Voida Bannerman, and Scott Bannerman and wife, Cincie Bell Bannerman. Four grandchildren, Marissa Bannerman, Ian Bannerman and his wife, Kim Parmer Bannerman, Sarah Bannerman and Edward James (EJ) Sexton Bannerman, II; and many friends. No Memorial Service is planned at this time. Donations may be given to the Indigent Program of the Quality Continuum Hospice Program or to the Cibola General Hospital Auxiliary. Busby -- Virginia Busby, 77, of Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, died on Sunday, August 25, 2002. Those who celebrate her life are husband of 55 years, William; sister, Dorothy Fleener; daughters, Linda, Marilyn and Shari; granddaughters, Maria and husband Joey, Terra and Maria; and great-granddaughter, Michaela. Virginia's giving spirit will be remembered by the March of Dimes, All Faith's Receiving Home, Girl Scouts of America, and the English as a second language program at Hoffmantown Church. In keeping with her spirit, Virginia has donated her body to UNM Medical School. A memorial service will be held at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort, on Friday, August 30, from 1:30 p.m - 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a polio foundation or a charity of your choice.

Calderon -- Mrs. Lupe G. Calderdon died Thursday, August 29, 2002 in Albuquerque at the age of 84. Mrs. Calderon is survived by her husband, Alfonso M. Calderon; grandchildren, Debbie Romero and husband, Jose Luis, Raymond Mark Tapia and wife, Anna, and David Tapia; great-grandchildren, Lisa Magdaleno and husband, Rudy, Tina Martinez, Mitchell Martinez, Monique Tapia and Alejandra Tapia; and great-great-grandchildren, Mario, Debra, James, Nikki, Hannibal, Adrien and Mitchell Jr. Funeral Services for Mrs. Calderon will be held on Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Pajarito Cemetery. Fischer -- Arthur J. Fischer, MD, 88, a resident of New Mexico for 44 years and of Albuquerque for 36 years, passed away Monday, August 26, 2002. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA and was married for 63 years to Grace Rankin Fischer, who preceded him in death five years ago. Dr. Fischer was retired from the Lovelace Clinic, where he served as an Ear Nose and Throat Physician and Surgeon and also served as President of the Staff at Lovelace. He attended Dartmouth College, graduated from the University of Florida and the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. He was also a Professor of Ear Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. He was on the original task force that founded the UNM Medical School. Dr. Fischer is survived by his four children, Diane Bush and her husband, Irving of Los Angeles, Arthur Fischer and his wife, Sharon of Roseville, CA, State Senator Sue Wilson Beffort and her husband, Steve of Albuquerque, and Timothy Fischer and his wife, Janis of Scottsdale, AZ; ten grandchildren, Tony Stephen, Tim Stephen, Brian Fischer, Chad Fischer, Sean Curtis, Eric Curtis, Lisa Fischer, Tim Fischer, Michael Bush and David Bush; five great grandchildren, Walker Stephen, Duncan Stephen, Caroline Grace Stephen, Jordan Bush and Camryn Bush and one sister, Francis Rubiner of Tucson. Dr. Fischer served in Europe as a Captain in the Army-Air Force during WWII as a Flight Surgeon. Hanks -- Delfina Jennie Hanks, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on August 24, 2002. Delfina was born on June 5, 1933 in Albuquerque, NM. She was a very loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her entire life centered upon caring for her precious children and grandchildren. Delfina was welcomed and loved everywhere she went and she will be fondly remembered. She is survived by her children, Jerry Rivera of Wilmington, CA, Anthony Rivera of Fresno, CA, Emily and husband, Edward Aguayo, Toni McGrown; brother, David Trujillo, all of Albuquerque; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends. A visitation for Delfina will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2002 at 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Sunrise Funeral Options. Hill -- Harold W. "Bill" Hill, age 78, a resident of Albuquerque for 40 years, died Tuesday, August 27, 2002, at his home. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Alethea ¯Lea¯ Hill; a son, David and wife, Ginny of Bluewater, NM; a daughter, Susan E. Hill of Albuquerque; three grandchildren, Joshua Hill and wife, Nicole of Newport News, VA, Allison Morris and husband, Bobby of San Rafael, NM, Zachary Hill and wife, April of Ft. Carson, CO.; great-grandson, Oliver Jack Morris of San Rafael, NM. Bill was born in Decatur, IL to Herman and Lillian Hood Hill. The family then moved to Rock Island, IL where Bill graduated from Rock Island High School in 1942. He then joined the US Army Air Corp, was trained as an Instrument Technician. Bill was stationed in England with the 8th Air Force, 364th Fighter Group, 383rd Fighter Squadron and was discharged in 1945. He enrolled in Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. After two years he went to work for Missman, Stanley, Farmer and Assoc., Civil Engineers for seven years. At which time he and his family moved to Champaign, IL where Bill attended the University of Illinois and he received a degree in Civil Engineering. They moved to Greeley, CO where he worked for Hoskins and Assoc., Civil Engineers, and also gained his registration as a Profession Engineer and Land Surveyor. When the company moved in 1962, the family moved to Albuquerque where Bill worked for the Corps of Engineers, ending his career as Chief of the Flood Plain Management Branch in 1975 After retirement, he and his wife moved to Albuquerque's South Valley. He opened and ran Hill¯s Saddle Service for 20 years and retired again. Bill was an active member of the NM Appaloosa Horse Club during those years. Bill then volunteered as a greeter at the Bio Park and was with them for more than four years. Retaining his interest in the Army Air Force, Bill joined the NM 8th Air Force Historical Society and became the permanent membership chairman. He also kept his connection with the 364th Fighter Group and attended their yearly conventions. Memorial service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW (3 blocks North of Paseo Del Norte) with Rev. Kim Fields-Haley officiating. A reception will follow at French Mortuary Westside Reception Hall. Interment will take place at a later date at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Meyer -- Nancy Ellen Meyer, passed away suddenly, but peacefully, Tuesday morning, August 27, 2002, following a brief illness. Nancy was born December 11, 1918 in Louisville, KY, the daughter of John and Florence Stone. She met Harold R. Meyer in 1941 at a USO dance while he was stationed at Fort Knox, KY and they remained sweethearts during his years of service in the Second Armoured Division. They married after the war, in October 1945 and lived in Ypsilanti, MI until their retirement in 1977 when they moved to Rio Rancho, NM. Nancy was a career secretary, spending the majority of her working years at Eastern Michigan University and the University of Michigan. She and Harold had 49 loving years together until his death in 1995. Nancy is survived by their only son, Malcolm Meyer and his wife, Sue of Ypsilanti, MI. Both Harold and Nancy were very active members of the Rio Rancho United Methodist Church. Nancy served as President and Secretary over the years for the United Methodist Women (UMW). She also had been active with and loved her work with the various church youth groups. She was an avid crafter and quilter and an active member of the Tumbleweeds. She and Harold had been active with the US Army 2nd Armoured Division Veterans and with Bell Telephone Pioneers. She was a loving and dedicated wife, a caring and nurturing mother, a good friend to her many friends and neighbors. She loved to grow roses but her greatest love was surrounding herself with young people. A Memorial Service will be held at the Rio Rancho United Methodist Church, 1652 Abrazo Road NE, Rio Rancho, NM on Saturday, August 31, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall. She will be interred, with her loving husband, Harold, at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 North Guadulupe, Santa Fe, NM on Tuesday, September 3, 2002. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations, be made in Nancy's name, to the Rio Rancho United Methodist Church Youth Groups. Moe -- Antoinette Moe, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1989, died Tuesday, August 27, 2002. She is survived by her son, George Victor Moe of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Marie Moe of Albuquerque; brother, Salvator Rego of Matawan, NJ; sister, Jenny Baker of Karney, NJ; three grandsons, Victor Moe and wife, Marina of Las Vegas, NV, Donald Evola and wife, Vicki of Seattle, WA and Jeffrey Evola and wife, Chris of Los Angeles, CA; two great-grandchildren, Deseree and Vincent Moe, both of Las Vegas, NV; and loving friend, Connie Apodaca of Albuquerque. Mrs. Moe was a very loving, forgiving and humble person. She loved and devoted her whole life to her family. Mrs. Moe had been a Neapolitan Singer and sang her whole life, even up until her death. Pettefer -- Edgar D. Pettefer, 85, a veteran of WWII and longtime resident of Albuquerque since 1945, died Thursday, August 29, 2002. He is survived by his son, Randall E. Pettefer and several loving friends. Edgar was preceded in death by his wife, Mary H. Pettefer, just two months ago. He had been a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Albuquerque since the 1950¯s and enjoyed serving as a Scoutmaster there. He led the Boy Scout Troop into the Gila wilderness in 1958. When he could, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Services will be held Tuesday September 3, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming NE, with Rev. Robertson -- Tammy Lynn Robertson passed away on August 26, 2002 after a long illness. She was 41 years old. Tammy is survived by her loving husband, David; her daughter, Wendy; her son, Jeffery, all of the home; her stepdaughter, Holly Topliss and husband, Wayne of Louisville, CO; her stepson, John Easley and wife Jennifer of Estancia, NM a granddaughter, Hanna Topliss; and a grandson, Caden Easley. She is also survived by her parents, George and Sandra Brown of Louisville, CO, a sister, Trina Brown of Astoria, NY; a brother, Jordan Brown and family of Port Ludlow, WA. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robbyn Brown. Tammy was employed as a senior escrow officer for First American Title Co. She was a member of Valley Christian Church. Tammy was the treasurer of the Atrisco Valley Little League for 12 years and had coached tee ball and little league girls' softball also. She was past president of the Rio Grande High School Girls' Softball Booster Club. She was a member of the New Mexico home Builders Association. Tammy was born in Denver, CO on December 24, 1960 and grew up in Louisville, CO where she participated in many sports. After her marriage to David she continued her interest in sports and played on various softball and volleyball teams in Albuquerque. She never missed watching her Denver Broncos on TV. Tammy embraced life joyously and loved her extended family deeply. She was always ready to give a helping hand to any individual or organization when needed. Tammy's passing leaves a void in the lives of everyone who knew and loved her. Strong-Thorne Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Casper Montoya, Wayne Topliss, Darrell Rickert, Jordan Brown, Bradley Robertson and Timothy Hanosh. She is survived by her husband, Robert"Bob" Schultz; her daughter, Bridgett Greenleaf and husband, Robert of Albuquerque; son, Christopher Schultz and wife, Kristin, of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Leah; father, Ora Horton; brothers, Robert DeLoach, Travis Horton, Larry DeLoach, Jerry DeLoach and Wayne DeLoach.¯ She was a co-owner with her husband of"Strictly Southwestern" on Eubank.¯ She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who know her. Shuford -- Patty Newell Shuford, 69, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, August 25, 2002 after a short battle with cancer, at home with her loved ones by her side. A native of El Paso, Texas, she is survived by her husband, David Marcus Shuford, Sr.. David shared his life and love with her for nearly 50 years. They were married on April Fool¯s Day 1953 after only knowing each other for six months. She is also survived by her mother, Patty Dell Newell; her son, David Marcus Shuford, Jr., his wife Karen, and their three daughters, Stephanie Campbell and her husband Tim, Amy Shuford and Kelli Shuford; her daughter, Claire Newell Shuford; and her daughter, Leslie Diane Gartner and her husband, Ed, and their daughter, Jessica Gartner. She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Lewis Newell. Patty was the keeper of the family home and loved it when it was filled with her family. Her precious grandchildren were the light of her life. She drew joy and strength from music of all kinds, her favorites were classical, opera, and mariachi music. Services will be held Saturday, August 31, 2002, at 3:00 p.m., at the Chester T. Tapia -- Bernabel A. Tapia (Ben), was called home to our Lord on Wednesday, August 28, 2002. Mr. Tapia was born in St. Johns, Arizona on December 26, 1908. He is survived by three daughters, Cordelia (Cordie) Sanchez, Agnes (DeeDee) Gonzales and husband, Andy of Hercules, CA and Barbara Fernandez and husband, Mike; two sons, Joe Richard and wife, Nancy and Joe Ernest and wife, Lucy; sister-in-law, Irene Pillar; two nieces, Elvira Roybal and husband, Alejandro of El Paso, TX and Louise Sorrels and husband, Robert of San Acacia, NM; three nephews, Joaquin (Jack) Chavez and wife, Dorothy, Arturo Chavez and Eddie Baca and wife, Rose of Magdalena, NM; cousin, Tillie Mendoza and husband, Frank of Superior, AZ; countless beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, friends and neighbors.¯ Mr. Tapia was preceded in death by his father, Jose Nestor Tapia; step-mother, Manuelita Tapia; son, Emilio Tapia, Sr.; his beloved wife of 70 years, Severita (Sadie) Provencher Tapia; great-grandson, Jeremy Campos; sister-in-law, Juanita Provencher; brothers-in-law, John Pillar and Demosthenes Provencher; son-in-law, Raymond Sanchez; and recently, granddaughter, Adele Darlene Sanchez. Mr. Tapia spent many years cattle ranching in Quemado, NM. He relocated to Albuquerque in 1938 where he and Severita lovingly raised their family. He was employed by the AT&SF Railroad in 1941, and retired in 1973. Rosary will be recited Friday, 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas NE. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.¯ Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.¯Pallbearers will be Joe R. Tapia, Jr., Chris Tapia, Bernie Sanchez, Sr., Frank Gonzales, Paul Tapia and Leonard Mark Sanchez. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Winter -- Keith W. Winter, 42, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on August 26, 2002. Keith is survived by his loving parents, Kelly and Jeanette Winter; his loving sister, Lynette Winter; brothers, Alan Winter and Terry, Kelly Winter and Kathy, Jimmy Winter and Lisa, Doug Winter and Diana, Bruce Winter and wife, Leola, Bryan Winter and wife, Dannilynn; 16 nieces and nephews; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Keith was a member of the Catholic Church. A visitation will be Friday evening after 6:30 p.m. at the Church of the Ascension, 2150 Raymac SW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by The Legion of Mary. A final viewing will be Saturday morning from 8:30am until 9:00am at the Church of the Ascension with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00am by Father Edmund Savilla.
