Boyd -- Elaine Boyd, 69 years, a resident of Albuquerque for 29 years, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2001. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Joseph C. Boyd; two daughters, Jo Laine Halama and her husband, Tom of Albuquerque, and Erin McKay of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren, Lori, Jacob, Chris and Kristin; and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Boyd served her country having served in the U.S. Navy for two years. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery Santa Fe New Mexico on June 8, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Girl Scouts of America. Cremation arrangements are by Sunrise Society of New Mexico 891-8200.

Brentan -- Ruth Sklovsky Maxon Brentan, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2001. Ruth graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1936. She lived in Los Angeles from 1954 until 1994 when she returned to Albuquerque. Ruth was the very best mother. To Ruth's many friends and family, she is now"fine". Ruth is survived by her daughters, Sandra James of Los Angeles, CA, and Paula Brentan of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Melissa Denison of Des Moines, IA and Matthew Gassner of Albuquerque; great grandson, Cullen Denison of Des Moines, IA, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Emanuel Brentan, who practiced in Albuquerque until his death in 1953, her sister, Edith Covich, and her brother, Ira Maxon. The family would like to thank all of the Ruth's caregivers, the staff at Delta Hospice and the Montebello. They would especially like to thank Nikki and Laverne for the special care and love they have given Ruth. Currier -- Frances Cisco Currier. Memorial Services are scheduled at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2001 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church for Frances Cisco Currier of Artesia, NM who departed this life May 24, 2001 at her home. The Rev. Herb Robbins of St. Paul's Episcopal Church will officiate. Cremation is planned and there will be no visitation. Frances was born on October 19, 1918 in Nara Visa, NM, the youngest of five children to Cliff S. Cisco and Dolly Steckman Cisco. She was raised in Princeton, MO. She married Chas. E."Chili" Currier in Albuquerque on May 9, 1941. They moved to Carlsbad in 1941, Sherman, TX in 1945 and settled in Artesia in 1946. Frances worked for over 30 years as a volunteer with the National Foundation of the March of Dimes. She organized numerous fund raising events including dances, candy, peanut and balloon sales, and plane rides, to name a few, culminating in the March of Dimes Auction that was broadcast on local radio and television. During these years she took carloads of crippled children to and from summer camp near Albuquerque. Frances was recognized for her dedicated efforts numerous times by the National Foundation. She was also one of the founding members of the Artesia Hospital Auxiliary, served as president several times and was instrumental in the establishment of the Thrift Shop and the Pink Corner at the hospital. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and a charter member of the B.P.O. Does Lodge No. 1717 and a member of the Moose Lodge. She is survived by son, Mike C. Currier, wife, Linnie, and granddaughter, Missi of Carlsbad; son, Cliff G. Currier, and wife, Cheryl of Artesia and grandson, Ben, and his wife, Margaret of Austin, TX; and her brother, Robert Cisco of Honolulu, HI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; sisters, Lucille Ingalls, and Ruth Thompson; and brother, Jack Cisco. In lieu of flowers, Frances has requested that contributions be made to the B.P.O. Does Scholarship in care of Reba Murrill, P.O. Dull -- Scott Dull, M.D., a former resident of Albuquerque, died on Saturday, April 28th, 2001. He and a close friend, Martin Gleich, were climbing in the Wasatch Range outside of Salt Lake City when they were swept away by an avalanche that killed both of them. Scott is survived by his wife, Lynn Stimler, and their two young children, Spencer and Emily as well as his sisters and parents. Scott and Lynn lived in Albuquerque from 1991 until 1994. During this time Scott completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center and Lynn received a law degree from the University of New Mexico School of Law. After completing their studies in Albuquerque, the pair moved to Anchorage, Alaska where Scott took a job as an emergency physician with the Alaska Native Medical Center. He worked there for several years before moving across town to Providence hospital, where he eventually became the clinical director of the emergency department. He also held the post of state medical director for emergency services. Scott was a very skilled and successful physician who loved his work, but he is remembered by his enormous number of friends and his family more for his passion and tremendous zest for life. Scott was a very complex person who was constantly looking to improve his personal relationships and was eternally curious about others' life experiences and points of view. He had a childish love for laughter and was known for his sometimes bizarre sense of humor; he loved to make others laugh. He was also a profoundly spiritual man. Most of all, he loved his family and was a committed and enthusiastic husband and father. While it might sound cliché to speak of how a person lived life to its fullest, this description could certainly be applied to Scott Dull. He embraced life with arms wide open, and he profoundly influenced the lives of those around him. Scott will be deeply missed. A memorial service for Scott will be held on Wednesday, May 30th at 6:30pm at the Elena Gallegos picnic area at the head of Los Pinos trail.

Flores -- Mrs. Maria Candelaria Flores, 101, a resident of Albuquerque passed away peacefully at home in the arms of her loving family on May 25, 2001. Mrs. Flores is the beloved mother of four daughters Corina Garcia and husband Conrado, Maria Sanchez and husband Delfin, Theresa Trujillo and Lydia Gonzales and husband Manuel; one son, Fred Flores Sr. and wife Rachel. She is also survived by one brother, Jose Gabaldon and wife Cruz; 46 grandchildren, 98 great grandchildren and 37 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Manuel Flores; four daughters, Oralia Gallegos, Consuelo Gonzales, Patsy Flores and Elenor Moctezuma; three sons, Manuel Flores Jr., George Flores and Richard Flores. Mrs. Flores was a member of the catholic church. A Rosary will be recited Monday evening at 7:00 in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with visitation after 6:30. Joe Trujillo and Los Hermanos reciting. Mass Of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 9:00 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW , with final viewing at the church after 8:30. Father Manuel Viera, celebrant. Interment will follow at the Los Lentes Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Anthony Garcia, Delfin Sanchez, Dusty Gutierrez, Mike Trujillo, Manuel (Boggie) Flores, Manny Trujillo, George Trujillo and Mike Abeyta. Galvin -- Mr. George E. Galvin, a longtime resident of the Albuquerque area, died peacefully on Sunday morning, May 13, 2001 in his assisted-living residence in Alliance, OH. Mr. Galvin, or"Uncle George" as he was affectionately known, was born on August 9, 1907, in New York City. He was an alumnus of the Palmer School of Engineering, New York University, and Columbia University, and received his Licensee's Letters from the Sorbonne in Paris, France. Mr. Galvin was a lifetime member of the NRA, an avid hunter, fisherman, and photographer, and an accomplished leather tooler and chair caner. A former executive with American Airlines in New York and Clifton Precision Products of Philadelphia, Mr. Galvin and his wife, Olive, moved to the Zuni Indian Reservation in New Mexico in 1968, where he managed a Precision Products plant. When the plant closed, Mr. Galvin then worked for the Zuni Tribal Council. After retirement, the Galvins moved to Albuquerque. His wife of 37 years, Lt. Col. Olive P. Galvin, USMC (ret.); and two brothers, Walter Corlett and Daniel Terry preceded Mr. Galvin in death. A brother, David Warren; two sisters, Marion Beckers and Evelyn Vogt; and numerous nieces and nephews survive him. A 4:00 p.m. Graveside Service will be held Saturday, June 9, 2001, at Highland Memorial Park in Beloit, OH. Mr. D. Warren Galvin of Pensacola, Fla., will deliver his Uncle's eulogy. Gomez -- Johnny E. Gomez, a resident of Tracy, CA passed from this life May 25, 2001. Griego -- Petrolina "Tita" Griego, 90, a resident of Belen, peacefully passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2001. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, Legion of Mary, Blessed Sacrament, and Sacred Heart League. She was preceded in death by her husband, B.B. Griego; one son, George Griego, two infant daughters, Ramona and Dolores; her parents, Pedro and Secondina Ronquillo; one sister, Geneviva Ronquillo; one brother, Ben Ronquillo; one son-in-law, Grady Summey; and one daughter-in-law, Nancy Griego. Also, preceding her were a beloved adolescent brother and sister. Petrolina is survived by her two sons, Alex Griego and his wife, Linda of Albuquerque; and Edwin Griego and his wife, Regina of Belen; three daughters, Celia Romero and her husband, Mike; Dru Summey; and Kathy Griego, all of Albuquerque; 23 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews. A Viewing will be held on Monday, 5:30pm at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church with a Rosary at 6:00pm. Gutierrez -- Josephine M. Gutierrez, age 87, passed away May 21, 2001 at Los Alamitos Hospital in Los Alamitos, CA. Josephine was born April 18, 1914 in Colonias, NM to the home of Juan Pablo and Andrea Urban Gutierrez. She worked at Medley's Cafe in Santa Rosa for several years. She moved to Albuquerque in 1958 where she worked at Kirtland Air Force Base as cafeteria manager for five years. She was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Parish in Albuquerque and St. Anthony Catholic Church in Long Beach, CA. Josephine loved to crochet, sew, knit, bake and play bingo. She was a loving sister and aunt and will truly be missed. She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Theresa Duran and Antonia Warlick; two nephews, Bobby Ray Gutierrez and Marshall Bass. Survivors include two brothers, Jose F. Gutierrez and wife, Josephine of Albuquerque, Horacio Gutierrez of Santa Rosa; three sisters, Dolores Salazar and husband, Donald of Albuquerque, Otilia Wisniewski and husband, Frank of El Paso, TX and Pita Sanchez of Las Vegas, NV; 16 nieces and nephews; 15 great-nieces and nephews; and two great-great-nieces and nephews. Rosary Services will be recited on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. from Chavez Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa with Father Stephen Schultz officiating. Hoffsis -- Joe Ann Hoffsis, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 22, 2001 at Valle Norte Caring Center where she was recovering from a recent operation and stroke. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jim Hoffsis; son, John Hoffsis; sister, Donna Kelly and husband, Gene Kelly of North Baltimore, OH. Joe Ann was born in Galatea, OH on August 3, 1927. She had been a merchant in Albuquerque's Old Town plaza since 1974. She owned and operated the Treasure House with her husband, Jim and son, John until 1999, when she opened up her own shop called Old Things. She was very active in Old Town issues, having served on the board of directors of the Old Town Merchant's Association for many years. Cremation has taken place by French Mortuary, and memorial services will be held at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul NE, on a date yet to be determined. Lucero -- Ike R. Lucero, a resident of Albuquerque for 50 years died Saturday May 26, 2001. Morgan -- John H. Morgan, 84, of Sun City, AZ, formerly of Albuquerque, passed away on May 14, 2001 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Louise, of Sun City; a son, Cole Morgan, and wife, Rina, and their children, Kate and John Paul, all of Belgium; daughters, Christine Garcia and husband, Henry Garcia, M.D. and their children, Angela and Raymond, all of Albuquerque, and Rosanne Henson and husband, Jay of Arizona. John is also survived by a brother, Paul, and wife, Pat; sisters, Winifred Tetzlaff, of Pittsburgh, PA, Maria Egizi, of Los Angeles, CA; and many nieces and nephews. John was born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 23, 1916 and graduated from Pittsburgh University with a degree in mechanical engineering. John moved his family to Albuquerque in 1955 where he was employed by Sandia National Labs. He was later employed by GTE Lenkurt. John was an Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII and a former member of the NM Gun Club Assoc., serving as president in 1969. A Private Service with Military Honors was held in Arizona. Norman -- Maggie Norman-Schoenbach, 49, a resident of Corrales for the past eleven years, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2001. Maggie was born July 5, 1951 the daughter of Robert Tisdale and Mary Elizabeth McFadden Norman in Annapolis, Maryland. Maggie was the Owner/Operator of her own therapy practice in Corrales, where she helped many people. She was active in her community in many areas. Maggie was preceded in death by her mother, Mary E. Norman, she is survived by her husband Glen Schoenback, father, Robert T. Norman and wife Margaret Jane, daughter, Heather Hutchison-Ayers and husband Christopher, six brothrs, Robert M. Norman, William M. Norman, Richard M. Norman, John H. Norman, Michael Norman and David Norman, six sisters, Mary Elizabeth Colby, Carole Hawthorne, Theresa Langford, Grace Stevens, Beverly Satores, and Patricia Norman, and one grandson, Brogan Ayers. Nover -- Fran Nover, a former resident of Albuquerque joined her loving father in death on May 10, 2001. Fran served in county government while living in Albuquerque. She is survived by her mother; three sisters; one brother; and her former husband. She has left many loving friends and especially those who made her life so special at the Summit Apartments. Mrs. Padilla is the beloved mother to three daughters, Della Gonzales and husband Ray, Irene Anaya and husband Henry Sr. Sarah Perea; two sons, Serafine Padilla and wife Dolores and Manuel Padilla; she is also survived by two sisters, Tommie Martinez and Helen Carriaga; one brother, Pedro Padilla Jr., 19 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; a special cousin Avelina Batagilia. She is preceded in death by her husband Olivio Padilla Sr., sons, Olivio, Frankie and Vincent Padilla, a sister Josie Padilla and a brother Louie Padilla. Mrs. Padilla, was a member of the Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited Monday evening at 7:00 at Our Lady of The Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW with visitation at the church after 6:30. Mass of Christain Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 11:00 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with final visitation at the church after 10:30. Father Gene Gries, Opream., celebrant. Rein -- Janette B. Rein, 76 (though she would say 39), librarian, vegetable gardener, carpenter, activist and humorist passed away May 21, 2001. She was accompanied by her daughter, Jill at the time of her passing and showed grace and humor till the peaceful end. She was born on June 15, 1924 in New York and has since lived in various states. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Rein and is survived by her daughters, Jill Gatwood and her husband, Byron, Susan Rucker and her husband, Ernie Bradbury; son, Brooks Magruder and his wife, Sue Doke, Brad Magruder and his partner, KatSue; grandchildren, Nigel and Olivia Gatwood, Jenna and Jillian Bradbury; sister, Katherine Grego of New York. Sanchez -- Tillie M. Sanchez, 86, a life-long resident of Belen, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2001 at her residence. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, and Saint Vincent De Paul Society. She was a 1rst grade teacher with the Belen Public Schools for over 44 years and Teacher of the Year in 1978. Her many students will always remember her, as she was also a teacher at Head Start and CCD. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Ramon and Rosalia Sanchez. Tillie is survived by her nephew, Jim Culp of Belen; two sisters, Dora Bustamante and her husband, Arturo of Belen; Corine Luna and her husband, Jim of Albuquerque; two brothers, Leo Sanchez and his wife, Peggy of Belen; and Milton Sanchez and his wife, Ninfa of Albuquerque; and one sister-in-law, Agnes Sanchez of Belen. Vollmann -- Arthur Vollmann, father of Albuquerque attorney Tim Vollmann, died on May 19, 2001, in Albuquerque after a brief illness. Mr. Vollmann was born in Chicago, IL, on Ocotber 20, 1920, and had lived in FullCA, since 1955. Before moving to California, Mr. Vollmann was a professional jazz drummer and became an accountant after graduating from La Salle College in 1951. Since his retirement as corporate controller at Beckman Instruments in 1982. Mr. Vollmann actively participated in senior softball and recently played with the over-80 team that won the World Series in Winnipeg. Mr. Vollmann is survived by his wife of 56 years, Florence; his three children, Tim of Albuquerque, Alan of North Potomac, MD and Sue of Whitefish, MT; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Mr. Vollmann who served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II, and will be buried with honors on Tuesday, May 29th at Santa Fe National Cemetery. A memorial mass will be celebrated in Fullerton, CA on Saturday, June 9th at 11:00 a.m., at St. Juliana Falconieri Catholic Church, where Mr. Vollmann was one of the original parishioners. Wells -- Jack "Cracker" Wells, 77, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, passed away in Roswell, NM on May 24, 2001. Jack was born on January 20, 1924 to James L. and Mennel L. (McDaniel) Wells in Gran Quivira, NM. Jack lived in Roswell, NM for 30 years, he was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.
