Hall -- Ted W. Hall, age 74, passed away on May 26, 2000 at his home in Truth or Consequences, where he was a resident since 1974. Ted was born in Missouri on August 22, 1925, the son of Clair Hammell Hall and the former Rubye Emma (Turk) Hall. After graduating from High School, Ted entered the U.S. Air Force where he began his career as a pilot. Upon completing his military service, he flew bi-planes as a crop duster and for the U.S. Forest Service in reconnaissance and reseeding efforts. Several years later, he obtained his commercial pilots license and became a charter pilot. In the ensuing years, Ted logged many thousands of hours in the air and flew a number of distinguished people to locations throughout the United States including the Governor of New Mexico and high-ranking corporate leaders on many occasions. Ted was always an avid outdoorsman, but retirement allowed much more time for his interests in this area. He was often found in the forest hunting or cutting wood, or more often, out on the lake. Countless hours were spent in pursuit of that"monster bass" which often found its way into his boat. His passion for fishing was certainly contagious and he took particular joy when he saw the look on a first time fisherman's face as they landed their first fish. Many an hour was spent at the local coffee shops recounting the endless tales of the"big one that got away". May people were the recipient of his caring nature. Ted always seemed to find a much needed home for some extra firewood, food or other items to help someone in need. He genuinely cared about the well-being of others and affected their lives in many positive ways. He is survived by a sister-in-law, Florence Hall of Truth or Consequences, NM; his two nephews, Loren W. & wife, Jackie Hall of T or C, NM and Clint A. and wife, Juanita Hall of Albuquerque, NM; a niece, Kelli L. and husband, Dale Marshall of T or C, NM; three grand-nephews and two grand-nieces. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Hall. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be conducted on Wednesday, May 31, at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of French Mortuary with Rev. Shon A. Wagner officiating. Arrangements are by French Mortuary of TorC, Inc. (505) 894-2574
