Katharina Hatfield passed away peacefully in her home on May 24, 2000. She was attended by her loving husband, Jim Hatfield; and daughter, Petra Dawson. Katharina was born in 1927 in Germany and came to the United States in 1960. She and her family settled in Albuquerque in 1972. She is survived by her husband, James Hatfield and three children, Kathleen Shy, William Shy and Petra Dawson. She also has four grandchildren, Chico and Elena Shy, Amy and Bryan Dickey. She had a full life surrounded by many friends and family. Her kind words and deeds will be remembered by many. A graveside service will be held at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Rd., in Rio Rancho, at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2000. Cremation arrangements by the Sunrise Society of NM, Ph 891-8200.
