Allen -- Ann Allen, 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, died Wednesday, April 19, 2000. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Thomas E. Allen of Albuquerque; daughter, Judy King of Belmont, CA; granddaughter, Karen King of Alturas, CA; grandson, Mark King and wife, Evro of Redwood City, CA; great-granddaughters, Shannon King and Cheyenne King, all of Alturas, CA; brother, Leonard Forrester and wife, Thelma of Winter Park, FL; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mary Lou Harmening and Jackie Kuzior. Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Forrester of Reno, NV. Services will be held Monday, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Dalen -- Dorothy Jean"Tink" Dalen, 71, died unexpectedly due to natural causes Thursday, April 20, 2000 at her home in Durango, Colorado. Mrs. Dalen lived in Durango, Colorado for 12 years. A Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 25, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. at Hood Mortuary. Father Mike McCleary will be officiating. Visitation will be held at Hood Mortuary on Monday, from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Cremation will be at Hood Mortuary Crematory in Durango. Mrs. Dalen was born June 12, 1928 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Hubert and Dorothy Stollar. She graduated high school from Al Hambra High School in Al Hambra, CA, where she met Raymond Dalen. She married Ray on June 15, 1947 at Al Hambra, CA. She traveled with Ray to different city assignments for his Forest Service career, the last being Albuquerque. Mrs. Dalen was an artist, specializing in water colors, and she loved antiques. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved her kids and grandchildren more than anything else. She is survived by her husband, Ray Dalen of Durango; sons, Dan Dalen and his wife, Pat of Albuquerque and Gary Dalen of Santa Barbara, CA; daughters, Tina Hadley of Durango and Stacy Dalen of Santa Barbara, CA; her grandchildren, Sig Dalen of Albuquerque, Matt Dalen of Albuquerque, Heather Dalen of Albuquerque, Kurt Dalen, Lee Dalen, Nick Hefley, and Clint Hadley, all of Durango, CO; a sister, Ann Hollinger of Hemet, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Hospice of Mercy, 375 E. Park Ave., Durango, CO 81301.

Frasier -- Louise V. Weir Frasier, 86, long-time resident of Albuquerque died Tuesday, April 18, 2000. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt N. Frasier and her oldest granddaughter, Karen Platt. She is survived by ten children; thirty-four grandchildren and forty-four great-grandchildren. Surviving children are: Virginia and husband, Charlie Platt of Cheaspeake, OH, Dorothy, widow of Roy McGee of Nashville, TN, Carrie and husband, Franklin Smith of El Paso, TX, Hoyt J. Frasier and wife, Barbara of Bristol, TN, Thomas W. Frasier of Dandridge, TN, John R. Frasier of Davidson, NC, and wife, Charlotte, Patricia and husband, Richard Branda of Albuquerque, NM, Margaret and husband, Mike Antley of Rio Rancho, NM, Evelyn and husband, Al Strouse of Edgewood, NM, Martha and husband, Richard Alarid of Corrales, NM. Also surviving are two sisters, one brother, many nieces, nephews and dear friends, David Alarid and Mike Hand. Mama was loved and respected by many people and during her recent illness she was visited by forty-five relatives from eleven states. Family members would like to thank Dr. Jean Thomas and the surgical staff at Lovelace Medical Center for the care and compassion shown to them and their mother and grandmother. Cremation has taken place and there will be a graveside service in Flintville, TN. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to All Faiths Receiving Home of Albuqueque, NM or New Mexico Museum of Natural History in Albuquerque.

Gutierrez -- Mr. Venceslado Juan Gutierrez, 91, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on April 20, 2000. Mr. Gutierrez is survived by one daughter, Lydia Baca and husband, Fileberto; one son, Joseph Gutierrez and Consuelo Salazar; seven grandchildren, Fileberto Jr., Toby, Anthony, Gail, Valentina, Celest and Paul; 14 great-grandchildren; a special friend, Angelica Constancia Castilione; many nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Gutierrez was a member of the Catholic Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII. A Rosary will be recited Sunday at 12:00 noon in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW, with visitation after 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning, 9:00 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW, with final viewing at the church after 8:30 a.m. Father Manuel Viera, Celebrant. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be Fileberto Baca Jr., Toby Baca, Anthony Baca, Bobby Zamora, Jerry Griego and Lee Romero. Hughes -- Carmen R. Hughes, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1945, died Wednesday, April 19, 2000. She is survived by her sons, Jim Hughes and wife, Lynelle of Albuquerque, and Robert Hughes of Arlington, TX; granddaughter, Tammy Rice of Henderson, NV; and sister, Rita Cardell and husband, Chet of Albuquerque. Along with enjoying the care and rewards of her family, Carmen was a valuable staff member with the Medicare Division of Equitable Life Assurance for twenty years. After her retirement, she unselfishly spent many years as a dedicated Senior Volunteer and contributed significant service to the community and Seniors helping Seniors. Services will be held Saturday, 2:00 p.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Rev. Joe McSorley officiating. Jumper -- Mallie E. Jumper, 94, a resident of Albuquerque, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2000. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Albuquerque. Mallie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis in 1984; two daughters, Brenda Jumper in 1985 and Norma Sue in 1938. She is survived by her loving daughters, Juanita Baker and her husband, Fredrick of Nov, MI, Maxine Parrish and her husband, James of Albuquerque; her sons, Jack and his wife, Kelly of Phoenix, AZ, Louis Jr. and his wife, Sandra of Pinok, AZ, and Jerry and his wife, Janie of Seneca, MO; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Lucero -- Mr. Virgil Lucero died Friday in Albuquerque at the age of 70. Mr. Lucero was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church for 40 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Lucero; brother, Roger Lucero; and great-granddaughter, Lexus Jinzo-Chavez. He is survived by his wife, Maria C. Lucero; sons, Danny Lucero and Virgil Vincent Lucero Jr. and wife, Shirley; daughters, Esther Garcia and husband, Ruben, Sybil Chavez and husband, Leroy, and Marie Gutierrez and husband, Offie; step-son, Ernest Gonzales; brothers, Fernando Lucero and wife, Gloria, Rudy Lucero and wife, Edna, and Richard Lucero and wife, Virginia of California; sisters, Viola Yardley and Lynn of Florida, and Priscilla Reyes and Teniente of Colorado; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Lucero will be held on Monday at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 7:30 a.m. by Fr. Juan Mendez. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be Marty Chavez, Phillip Gutierrez, Ernest Gonzalez, Chad Padilla, Leroy Chavez and Robert Lucero. Honorary pallbearers will be Shirley Lucero, Nicole Lucero, Matthew Lucero, Carlos Garcia, Joey Gonzales and Brian Jaramillo. May -- Byrnes"Bernie" May, age 88, a resident of Albuquerque, died April 19, 2000. He is survived by one daughter, Marcia A. Griffin of Santa Barbara, CA; one grandson, Frederick B. Howden IV of Houston, TX; one granddaughter, Melissa A. Howden of Oakland, CA; nephew, Dr. Alfred E. Dittert of Tempe, AZ; nieces, Joy D. Dale of Albuquerque, La Vera Farnworth of Sierra Madre, CA, and Gloria Speechley of Battlecreek, MI. Bernie was a graduate of Albuquerque High School and earned a BA Degree from UNM with a Major in Business Administration and Geology, and a Minor in Music. He also had a Commercial Aviator's License with a Flight Instructor's Rating. He was the President of May's Music Co., Inc. (now closed) in Albuquerque. Bernie was a member of first Albuquerque High School and University of New Mexico Bands and Albuquerque Civic Symphony Orchestra. He was a leader of his own famous, big band dance orchestra featuring Vivian Vance and the Golden Horn at UNM. He was a life member of UNM Alumni Association and Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, Circulation Manager of New Mexico State Tribune (now the Albuquerque Tribune), National Chairman of Music Association of 20-30 Clubs, Albuquerque Community Chest 20-30 Club organization committee member (now the United Way), founder of New Mexico Music Director's Association, New Mexico Music Teacher's Association, New Mexico State Fair Band Day and the Annual All-State Music Festival, State Chairman of Rural Music National Federation of Music Clubs and Music War Council of America, Director and President of Albuquerque Civic Symphony Orchestra (now New Mexico Symphony Orchestra), awarded Fellowship Diploma National College in Toronto, Canada, member of Dealer's Advisory Board Conn Band Instrument Co., Elkhart, IN, Director (two terms) and Secretary (one term) of the National Association of Music Merchants, Chief Flight Instructor USNR War Training Service in WWII, listed in Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in Commerce and Industry and International Who's Who Supplement, joined the Rotary Club of Albuquerque in 1948 and served as Entertainment Chairman under six Presidents, Program Chairman under two Presidents, member of Rotary Bowling Team for ten years, Program Speaker on two occasions, receiving standing ovations on both"The Story of the Golden Horn" and"The Earth Below", as a Rotary"Mashed Potato Circuit Program Speaker" by request talks were given on"The Story of the Golden Horn" at clubs throughout the state. Bernie was named the 14th Rotary Living Legend. A visitation will be held Monday, April 24, 2000, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Tuesday, April 25, 2000, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. A Funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, with Reverend Tom Salmon officiating. Herbert Koogle, Col. Clay Keene, Rex Allender, J.D. Huss, Don Dresp, James Stevens, Dale Mackey and James Hulsman will serve as pallbearers. Woody Woodward, Douglas Ballard, Archie Westfall, Jack Campbell, Ken Hippe, Abe Pena, Charlie Davis, Ed Beaumont, Robert R. Ryan and Herbert Briggs will serve as honorary pallbearers. Mcnabb -- Mr. Elbert Ray (Snapper) McNabb Jr., 56, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on April 18, 2000. Mr. McNabb is survived by one daughter, Maria McNabb; his mother, Ester McNabb; two sons, Raymond Blair and Steven Blair; three brothers, Danny McNabb, Daryl McNabb and wife, Connie and Elden McNabb and wife, Barb; his ex-wife, Mary McNabb; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. McNabb was of the Methodist faith, he loved to hunt, was a member of the Moose Lodge, retired from PNM in 1988, and currently employed by Gardner Zemke. A Rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, with Deacon Harry Beare, reciting. Smith -- Gayle Gladys Smith, 85, died peacefully on April 19, 2000. A resident of New Mexico since the early 60's, she was born and was a long term resident of the Western Slope of Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Harold (Slim) Smith. She is survived by her sister, Mary Ellen and Don Clark of Sun City West, AZ; her children, William (Bill) and Eunice Smith of New Castle, CO, Pat Phillips and Ann Gallegos of Albuquerque, Fred and Mabel Smith of Placitas, Rebecca (Becky) and Dave Dobbs of Manila, UT; her nine grandchildren and their children. The family would like to thank the staff at Los Palomas Nursing Center for their care and friendship over the last four years, as well as all of her friends for their continued care and concern. Stafford -- Vivian Tache Stafford, 85, a lifelong resident of Roslyn, Washington, died Tuesday, April 18, 2000. She is survived by her son, Robert C. Stafford and wife, Betty Jo of Albuquerque; grandsons, William R. Stafford of Walnut Creek, CA and Brian C. Stafford and Veronica of Albuquerque; great-grandchildren, Nicolas C. Stafford and Issac J. Stafford, both of Albuquerque; brother, Robert Tache of Cle Elum, WA; nephew, William H. Tache and wife, Jan of Hawaii; and many other cousins and friends in the Cle Elum, Roslyn, WA area. Mrs. Stafford had been visiting her son in Albuquerque and became ill. She was a member of the Episcopal Church in Roslyn, WA. During her stay in Albuquerque she made many friends, thus there will be services in Albuquerque. Vivian will be dearly missed by all her family and many friends in Albuquerque and the Cle Elum-Roslyn area. Services will be held Saturday, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Deacon Bob Contreras officiating. Services will also be held in Cle Elum, WA.
