Obituary for Dalen

Dorothy Jean"Tink" Dalen, 71, died unexpectedly due to natural causes Thursday, April 20, 2000 at her home in Durango, Colorado. Mrs. Dalen lived in Durango, Colorado for 12 years. A Funeral service will be Tuesday, April 25, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. at Hood Mortuary. Father Mike McCleary will be officiating. Visitation will be held at Hood Mortuary on Monday, from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Cremation will be at Hood Mortuary Crematory in Durango. Mrs. Dalen was born June 12, 1928 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Hubert and Dorothy Stollar. She graduated high school from Al Hambra High School in Al Hambra, CA, where she met Raymond Dalen. She married Ray on June 15, 1947 at Al Hambra, CA. She traveled with Ray to different city assignments for his Forest Service career, the last being Albuquerque. Mrs. Dalen was an artist, specializing in water colors, and she loved antiques. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved her kids and grandchildren more than anything else. She is survived by her husband, Ray Dalen of Durango; sons, Dan Dalen and his wife, Pat of Albuquerque and Gary Dalen of Santa Barbara, CA; daughters, Tina Hadley of Durango and Stacy Dalen of Santa Barbara, CA; her grandchildren, Sig Dalen of Albuquerque, Matt Dalen of Albuquerque, Heather Dalen of Albuquerque, Kurt Dalen, Lee Dalen, Nick Hefley, and Clint Hadley, all of Durango, CO; a sister, Ann Hollinger of Hemet, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Hospice of Mercy, 375 E. Park Ave., Durango, CO 81301.
