Lopez -- Joey Lopez, 17, was called home to be with the Lord after courageously battling a lengthy illness, Wednesday, September 1, 1999, while surrounded by his loving family. Joey was a very outgoing and loving young man who was born on April 11, 1982 in Albuquerque; he was a student at West Mesa High School; an avid Dallas Cowboy fan; he was an honorary volunteer Fire Fighter for the Bernalillo County Fire Department. Joey believed in living life to it's fullest, which meant doing the things he enjoyed most. For Joey, Red Lobster and Furr's Cafeteria were his favorite places to eat; he was an inventor and loved to experiment; he loved life and his family. He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Gavina Perea; his step-father, David Stewart. He is survived by his loving mother, Christina Stewart; his caring grandmother, Dottie Gonzales of the family home; one sister, Casandra Stewart; two brothers, Joshua and Jacob Stewart. Also surviving are a special father, Clarence Parker; a very special uncle, Dan Lopez; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and a host of friends. Joey will be greatly missed by his loving family and those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Visitations will be today, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the chapel of Garcia Mortuary, located on the corner of 8th and Iron, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, 9:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Fr. James Moore as Celebrant. Memorial contributions, in Joey's name, may be made to the Children's Camp Enchantment Program, c/o American Cancer Society, 5800 Lomas Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110, or the Make a Wish Foundation of NM, 5301 Central Ave. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108. Marsh -- Mrs. Rosemary Marsh, 74, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on September 2, 1999. Mrs. Marsh was the beloved wife of 32 years to Mr. Dannie Marsh. Mrs. Marsh is also survived by two daughters, Charlotte Archuleta and Marie Bowman and husband, Jay of California; one sister, Jennie Hubbell; one brother, Walter C. Hubbell; seven grandchildren, Mary and husband, Ruben, Mickey and husband, Charlie, Gloria, Chris and husband, Jay Jr., Morris and wife, Sandra, Denise and husband, Joe; 16 great-grandchildren; one niece, Carol Hoppe; two nephews, Paul and Luis Cervantes. Mrs. Marsh was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Johnny Ray Archuleta. Mrs. Marsh was a member of the Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, with visitation after 6:30 p.m. Ruben Barela, reciting. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning, 9:00 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW, with visitation at the church after 8:30 a.m. Father Jack, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be C.J. King, Keith King, Jay Bowman, Joe Martinez, Morris Archuleta, Charlie Kink and Robbie Sanchez. Petr -- Carole G. Petr, 59, a resident of Albuquerque since 1976, died Tuesday, August 31, 1999. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Petr; mother, Sophie Wutock-O'Brien; father, Frank Wutock; and step-father, John O'Brien. She will be missed by many family members and friends. Services will be held Friday, 3:30 p.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Rev. Stephen Anthony (Gunsalles) officiating. Interment will take place at Elmwood Cemetery, River Grove, Illinois. Family will receive friends Friday, 3:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE to the time of service.

Connell -- John L. Connell, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1963, died peacefully Wednesday, September 1, 1999. John was born January 16, 1917 in Rogers, Texas to Guy Jack and Elizabeth Connell. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Corie B. Connell; and brother, Guy Jack Connell. He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Connell, Patricia Calver and husband, Paul; son, Richard Connell and wife, Anna; brothers, Billy Connell and wife, Anna, John David and wife, Gloria; sister, Betty Jo Schwake and husband, Ray; sister-in-law, Jane Connell; grandchildren, Sheena and Jason Connell and Ryan Calver; and many lifelong friends. John served honorably in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He retired from the government and the FAA in 1974 after 32 years of service. He filled the remainder of his life with his family and his continued love of fishing, gardening and the exploration of New Mexico. His presence will be sorely missed. Services will be held Saturday, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Lemuel M. Boyles officiating. John will be buried along with his wife, Corie's cremains, at 3:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Couey -- Paul Couey Sr., 87, died on August 31, 1999 in Tulsa, Oklahoma of complications associated with Alzheimer's Disease. Paul was born in Trinidad, Colorado in 1912, and received his Bachelor's degree from San Diego State University, where he studied as a concert pianist. He married Thelma Smith in July, 1943, and they had two children, Paul Jr., born in 1944 and Jan, born in 1947. He served as a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy during World War II and went on to serve with the Veteran's Administration as an adjudicator. He and his wife moved to Albuquerque in 1946, where they raised their two children, were charter members of Immanuel Presbyterian Church, and spent their retirement years. He was preceded in death by his wife and son. He is survived by his daughter, Jan of Tulsa, her two children, Greg, a senior at the University of Kansas, and Stephanie, a freshman at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. He is also survived by his son's two children, Kelly Parker of Owasso, OK and Kristen Jowers of Alexandria, VA; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A private Memorial service is being held on September 4, at First Presbyterian Church, in Tulsa. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to the Alzheimer's Association.

Davis -- 1914-1999 Gwynn E. Davis, 84, a resident of Belen, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 1999 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Davis retired from the Santa Fe Railroad in 1963, where he had worked as a conductor. Many will remember Mr. Davis for the joy he brought to the residents of the county as he delivered flowers for the shop, he along with his wife, owned since 1947, Davis Floral. Mr. Davis was raised to Master Mason on April 11, 1938 in Hamlin Lodge, No. 958, A.F. & A.M. and was active in Bethlehem Lodge, No. 56. He was also a 50 year member of Jasmine Chapter 45 Order of the Eastern Star. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Davis; two sons, Charles Davis and his wife, Shirley of Lincoln, NE and Dale Davis of Belen; two sisters, Rowena Grayson and Gladis Norwood, both of Kerrville, TX; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 3, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Riverside Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 4, also at Riverside Chapel, with Dr. Tim Marrow officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Marge McGee, Betty McGee, Georgia McKown, Vanessa Higgs, Alice Torres, and Agnes Smith. Private interment will take place at a later date. Doty-Nunn -- Doty- Anas F. Doty-Nunn, 70, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, September 1, 1999. She is survived by her former husband, J.W. Nunn of Albuquerque; daughters, Wanda L. Scanlan and husband, Tim of Las Cruces and Wilma L. Ross and husband, Gary of Albuquerque; grandsons, Dirk Scanlan and wife, Melanie of Aztec, T.C. Scanlan of Las Cruces, and Cyrus Ross of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Vanetta Huff and husband, Chris of Farmington, Autumn Goodwin and husband, Mark of Las Cruces, Christal Garcia and husband, Daniel, Brandy Johnston and husband, Richard, all of Albuquerque; four great-grandchildren; twin sister, Gladys Cole and husband, Bob of Albuquerque; two sisters; and three brothers. Anas was preceded in death by her great-granddaughters, Angel Garcia and Jazzmin Johnston. She was a member of the Fiddler's Association of New Mexico.
