Toth -- Joseph Toth, 90, a resident of Albuquerque since 1973, died Monday, August 30, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Toth of the family home; daughter, Nancy Spisak and husband, John of Bella Vista, AR; sons, Dick Toth and wife, Sharon of Albuquerque and Don Toth and wife, Louise of Brecksville, OH; granddaughters, Debbie McDevitt and husband, Ron of Bosque Farms, Donna Turner and husband, Randy and Dorrie McDevitt, all of Albuquerque; grandson, Tony Hurtfield of Cleveland, OH; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law, Grace Skinner, Lenore Ball, and Gertrude Plesmid and husband, Joe; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Toth was a member of C.S.A. Lodge of America. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Services will be held Friday, September 3, 1999, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Pallbearers will be Randy Turner, Ronald McDevitt, Ryan McDevitt, and Robert Turner. Wood -- Lynn Raymond Wood, age 58, was received into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 29, 1999. A native of Albuquerque, Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Ruth Wood and Bliss De Wood and his maternal grandmother, Chloe Bossa. He was a life-long member of the Church of Christ, a graduate of Valley High School, and he served in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie of the family home; his daughter, Diana Perry and husband, Ken; son, Alan Raymond of North Hollywood, CA; and daughter, Debra Stinger and husband, Devin of Tualatin, OR. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held this morning at 11:00 a.m. in Chapel of Sandia Funeral Care, 7601 Wyoming Blvd NE. Following the service, friends are invited to meet and share refreshments with the family at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Hall, 1860 Griegos Road NW. Babbitt -- Frances H. Babbitt, 61, of Mountain Shadow Drive, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 1999 at her home. Frances was born November 28, 1937 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Fred J. St. Amour and Olga M. Maurice St. Amour. She was raised in Racine, Wisconsin. She graduated from St. Catherine's Catholic High School and attended the University of Wisconsin for 1 1/2 years. She married Lon Babbitt and while her husband was in medical school they lived in Madison, Wisconsin, settling in Green Bay, Wisconsin in 1968. They moved to Carlsbad in 1984. In 1991, she earned her BS degree from College of the Southwest, and went into Christian Counseling, working with Life Management at Guadalupe Medical Center and with Laurie Reif. She was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church, on the Board of Directors of Sun Country Amateur Golf Association, and was President of the Riverside Country Club Women's Golf Association, as well as being on the Country Club Board of Directors. She was an avid golfer and won awards in Senior Olympics and Carlsbad City championships. Her parents; and a brother, David St. Amour preceded her in death. She is survived by Dr. Lon Babbitt of Carlsbad, NM; son, Stephen Babbitt and wife, Tammie of San Diego, CA; daughters, Jennifer Babbitt of Napa, CA, Theresa Babbitt-Kline and husband, Donald of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Mary Babbitt of Carlsbad, Kathleen Marshall and husband, James of Salt Lake City, UT, Rachel Babbitt of Fort Collins, CO; sisters, Anne Stelzner and husband, Harry of Waterford, WS and Jane Lees and husband, Bob of Bagley, WS; and grandchildren, Katie Jo Boaz, David Boaz, Adrienne Kline, Jocelyn Kline and Sarah Frances Marshall. Frances will lie in state Friday, September 2, 1999, 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m., and Saturday, September 4, 1999, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Denton-Funchess Funeral Home Chapel. A Vigil will be Friday, September 3, 1999, 7:00 p.m., at Denton-Funchess Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 4, 1999, 3:00 p.m., at St. Edwards Catholic Church with Father Noel Kramer officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Interment of cremains will be Thursday, September 9, 1999, 9:00 a.m., at Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM. Connell -- John L. Connell, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1963, died peacefully Wednesday, September 1, 1999. John was born January 16, 1917 in Rogers, Texas to Guy Jack and Elizabeth Connell. He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Corie B. Connell; and brother, Guy Jack Connell. He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Connell, Patricia Calver and husband, Paul; son, Richard Connell and wife, Anna; brothers, Billy Connell and wife, Anna, John David and wife, Gloria; sister, Betty Jo Schwake and husband, Ray; sister-in-law, Jane Connell; grandchildren, Sheena and Jason Connell and Ryan Calver; and many lifelong friends. John served honorably in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He retired from the government and the FAA in 1974 after 32 years of service. He filled the remainder of his life with his family and his continued love of fishing, gardening and the exploration of New Mexico. His presence will be sorely missed. Memorial services will be held Saturday, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Lemuel M. Boyles officiating. Davis -- 1914-1999 Gwynn E. Davis, 84, a resident of Belen, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 1999 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Davis retired from the Santa Fe Railroad in 1963, where he had worked as a conductor. Many will remember Mr. Davis for the joy he brought to the residents of the county as he delivered flowers for the shop, he along with his wife, owned since 1947, Davis Floral. Mr. Davis was raised to Master Mason on April 11, 1938 in Hamlin Lodge, No. 958, A.F. & A.M. and was active in Bethlehem Lodge, No. 56. He was also a 50 year member of Jasmine Chapter 45 Order of the Eastern Star. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Davis; two sons, Charles Davis and his wife, Shirley of Lincoln, NE and Dale Davis of Belen; two sisters, Rowena Grayson and Gladis Norwood, both of Kerrville, TX; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 3, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Riverside Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 4, also at Riverside Chapel, with Dr. Tim Marrow officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Marge McGee, Betty McGee, Georgia McKown, Vanessa Higgs, Alice Torres, and Agnes Smith. Private interment will take place at a later date. Doty-Nunn -- Doty- Anas F. Doty-Nunn, 70, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, September 1, 1999. She is survived by her former husband, J.W. Nunn of Albuquerque; daughters, Wanda L. Scanlan and husband, Tim of Las Cruces and Wilma L. Ross and husband, Gary of Albuquerque; grandsons, Dirk Scanlan and wife, Melanie of Aztec, T.C. Scanlan of Las Cruces, and Cyrus Ross of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Vanetta Huff and husband, Chris of Farmington, Autumn Goodwin and husband, Mark of Las Cruces, Christal Garcia and husband, Daniel, Brandy Johnston and husband, Richard, all of Albuquerque; four great-grandchildren; twin sister, Gladys Cole and husband, Bob of Albuquerque; two sisters; and three brothers. Anas was preceded in death by her great-granddaughters, Angel Garcia and Jazzmin Johnston. She was a member of the Fiddler's Association of New Mexico. Galloway -- John Scott Galloway, beloved son and brother, died of a heart attack August 31, 1999 at the age of 45. He leaves behind his mother, Josephine D. Mechem and her husband, Edwin L. Mechem; his three sisters, Ann, Beth and Christin and their husbands, Gerald, Larry and Bill. He is also survived by his niece, Downie; nephews, Thomas and Stanley. John was preceded in death by his father, Stanley D. Galloway and his niece, Jennifer Ann Van Hanerbeke. It is impossible to express how much he will be missed. John was a graduate of Highland High School and the University of New Mexico's Robert O. Anderson School of Business with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. Services will be held Tuesday, September 7, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Michael's and All Angels Episcopal Church, 601 Montano Rd. NW. Helling -- Kenneth W. Helling, born on February 28, 1916 in Madison, South Dakota, died on Tuesday, August 31, 1999 at the age of 83 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Emma Jean Helling of Albuquerque; two daughters, Yvonne Rodriguez of Albuquerque, Loretta Helling of Las Vegas, NV; one brother, Hubert Helling of Seattle, WA; one sister, Vernis Persoon of Lewiston, IN; two sons-in-law, Pete Rodriguez and Rob Smith; one granddaughter, Jeannette Waid and husband, Mark Waid; one great-grandson, Mark Allen Waid. Kenneth served in the Army Air Corps as a Medical Corpsman during WWII and was married to Emma Jean for 54 years. He was a resident of Albuquerque since 1942 and served as Usher Captain at Immaculate Conception Church and a member of People of Praise Prayer Group at Glory Hall. Visitation will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, September 3, 1999, at Palm Chapel, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. A Rosary will be recited by Deacon George Sandoval at 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 3, 1999, at Palm Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 4, 1999, with Father Renfroe officiating at Immaculate Conception Church, 619 Copper Ave. NW. Juarez -- Margo Reno Juarez, 53, passed away September 1, 1999. She will be remembered as a loving mother, Tia, and grandmother, who dedicated her life to helping friends and family. She is survived by her children, Roberto"Beto" Felipe Juarez, Reyna Luz Juarez and son-in-law, Larries Vigil; grandchildren, Eloy Silva-Vigil and Alicia Elena Vigil; mothers, Joan Wengler and Ramona Juarez; uncle, Duane Reno; ex-husband, Roberto Juarez Y Familia, Teresa Juarez, Juan Juarez, Santiago Juarez, Ray Juarez, Jesus Juarez, Luis Juarez, Adan Juarez; dear friends, Fonda Osbourne, Eleanor Chavez, Rose Rael; and numerous other friends and family who loved and will miss her.
