Carter -- Mrs. Adelicia"Lizzie" Carter died Sunday in Albuquerque at the age of 69. Mrs. Carter was a member of the Ladies Breakfast Club. She is preceded in death by her son, Armando Carter; lifetime companion, Francisco Gutierrez; daughter, Yvonne Carter; and son, Ismael Cruz. She is survived by her sons, Jesse Carter and wife, Diane, and James Carter and wife, Anita; daughters, Ramona Anaya and husband, Faustin, Pearl Serrano, Geniva Carter, Georgia Atencio, and Juanita Adelicia Arnada and husband, Anthony; her father and several brothers and sisters, residing in Bakersfield, CA; sister, Mary Manning; brother, Fred Garcia, both of Albuquerque; 25 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.TO MY MOTHER When God created you, dear one, He made a perfect thing that sent a gust of joy through Heaven and made the choirs sing. Chavez -- Amalia Gallegos Chavez passed away peacefully February 22, 1999. She was born in Progresso, NM, June 3, 1916 to Maria and Ramon Gallegos. She was raised on her parent's farm in Torrence County, graduated from Estancia HS with honors as beauty queen, BB jump center, Senior play. Amalia married Conrado V. Chavez and had three children, Conrad Jr., Olivia Sampson and Viola Chavez-Cropp, all of whom survive her. She is also survived by grandchildren, Marty and Laralea Chavez, Rick Gonzales and his wife, Roxanne, Michelle Austin and her husband, Rick, Tanya Cropp-Maes and her husband, Paul, Pete Cropp; great-grandchildren, Ricky, Alicia, Taylor, Nick; and one sister, Philomena Sanchez. Her impact on those who knew her was profound and her love indelible. She personified el dicho,"Mi casa es su casa." She was a"90s" woman as early as the 40s. With her strong, intelligent, independent nature, she kept an immaculate-beautiful home filled with her arts and crafts, cooked gourmet meals, owned and ran a beauty salon, was a community leader, school volunteer, expert seamstress, hostess extraordinaire, and first and foremost a wonderful, loving mother and wife. She did so much for others that everyone loved doing things for her. We loved to tease her of her aristocratic aire. Her inner beauty was matched by her physical beauty and her impeccable sense of style. Her love of God, family, music, dance, camping, gardening, travel, reading and cooking was contagious. The energy which she brought to everything she died is a cherished legacy. Godspeed, Mom, Granny, Gram, Mommy Dearest, Suegra, Auntie, Tia, Comadre, sister, friend, My Molly. Edwards -- Fay A. Edwards, age 90, passed away February 13, 1999 at 2:30 p.m. in Albuquerque. She was born June 10, 1908 in Mitchell, SD. She worked at Caterpillar Trucking in East Peoria during WWII. She was a member of Eastern Star DES #840 in Creve Cour, IL for 53 years and she was a member of the Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, LaVon Klein; sister, Laura Louise Smalley; several nieces and nephews; grandson, Terry Klein and wife, Vicki; granddaughter, Tina Ramalia and husband, Joe, granddaughter, Tauny Fincher and husband, Doyle,; daughter-in-law, Judy Klein, widow of grandson, Robert Klein, all of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren, Rebecca, Traci, Tara, Ryan, Kristina, Clinton, Amber, Melinda, Stacey, Travis and Bobbie Lynn. Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Edwards; son-in-law, Ted L. Klein; grandson, Robert L. Klein; great-grandsons, Robert Keith Klein; both parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Nelson; brothers, David, Herman, Dee, Clarence, Ray; and sister, Lula Mae. Fazio -- Rose Marie Fazio, 62, passed away Saturday, February 20, 1999. A former Nun in Louisville, KY she had made Albuquerque her home for over 20 years. She was an active member of St. Bernadette's Catholic Church and regularly sung in the choir. She is survived by her three children, Joseph Anthony Fazio, Marie Elena Ely and husband, Allen and Daniel Thomas Fazio; grandson, Joseph Robert Ely. Also surviving her are her three sisters and one brother, Dee Henry, Ann Riley, Florence Christman and James Coleman. Flores -- Eleanor"Leonor" T. Flores, went"home" to our Lord Jesus Christ, surrounded by her husband and children on February 20, 1999. She was born in Monte Vista, Colorado to Marcelino and Amalia Trujillo. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Louis B. Flores; her five children, Ceci Stott and husband, Pat, Daniel Flores and wife, Alexa, Robert Flores and wife, Linda, Rudy Flores and wife, Lori, Tess Powers and husband, Tom; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Mose Trujillo and wife, Ida of Denver, CO, Joe Trujillo and wife, Riley of Santa Fe, NM, Ted Trujillo and wife, Anna of Alameda, NM; and sisters,"Toni" Martinez of Belen, Marian Teachworth of San Diego, CA, Velma Sorrows and husband, Abie of Little Rock, AR, and Laura Candelaria of Las Cruces, NM. Mrs. Flores was preceded in death by her infant son, Louis Yfrene Flores; grandson, Thomas George Powers; great-granddaughter, Ashley Cecilia Stott; sisters,"Mela" Manuleita Barela, Helen Martinez, Carmen Romero, and Mary Lou Martinez; and brother, Fernando Trujillo. She also expressed her love to her numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Flores worked for GTE Lenkurt for over 12 years where she had many wonderful friends. She belonged to Mercy Missionaries, Ladies of the Altar, Rosary Society, Katherine Hudson's Renew Group of St. Bernadette, World Vision, and the Spanish Choir. She was always involved with children and will be remembered of picking up neighborhood children in her pink Rambler to take them to church. Mrs. Flores adored taking care of her grandchildren. She also expressed her love for her favorite scripture, Psalm 23. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE, with Deacon Al McLane reciting. Gallegos -- Alcario N. Gallegos, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away February 21, 1999 at a local hospital. He was born on September 25, 1941 in Albuquerque and is survived by his wife of 23 years, Nancy Herrera; and his four children, Irene Anaya, Lizann Trujillo, Daniel Herrera, Benjie Herrera; ten grandchildren; his five sisters and one brother, Alex Gonzales, Visenta Gonzales, Elena Maestas, Josefita Rivera, Maria Vigil, and Jesus Gallegos. Pallbearers will be Gordon Obrien, Jeff Anaya, Angle Trujillo, James Gonzales, George Gallegos, Louie Vigil. Honorary pallbearer Walter Sloan. Garcia -- Josephine Kavanaugh Garcia, born in Las Vegas, New Mexico, passed away February 17, 1999 in Albuquerque. She is survived by her daughters, Yvonne Garcia, Patricia Armijo and husband, Mike; and son, Joe Garcia and wife, Cindy; grandsons, Dustin, Daniel and Nicholas; and granddaughter, Lisa. She is survived by three sisters; four brothers; and many nephews, nieces and friends. A Memorial Mass was held for family and friends on February 20, 1999.

Gerber -- Patrick"Gube" Gerber, was born July 20, 1932 and passed away after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Harold and Ruby Gerber Texarkana, TX. Pat is survived by his children, Patricia Gerber, Scheryl and husband, Dr. Douglas Weaver, Nancy and husband, Tim Lamkin, Darrell and wife, Tracy Gerber; his grandchildren, Greg and his wife, Candice, Joslynn, Danielle, Eric, Curtis, Tawnie, Patrick W.; and great-grandson, Brandon, all of Albuquerque, (New Mexico). His brothers, Kenneth and wife, Carmen, their family of Texarkana, TX, Nicky and his wife, Sandy, their family of Longview, TX. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Mary Catherine Gildon and her children, Terry and wife, Linda Gildon, their sons, Mary Sue and husband, John Harley, their son, also, surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Pat grew up in Texarkana and at an early age joined the Air Force, was stationed in Albuquerque. After the service he became an Albuquerque Police Officer, retiring with the rank of sergeant after more than 20 years of service. He was affiliated with the Fraternal Order of Police, where he served as an officer in several positions: Temple Lodge #6 AF&AM, 32nd Degree, former member of the Ballut-Abyad Shrine. He retired to Texarkana to do what he enjoyed most, fishing. Graveside services will be held at Chapelwood Cemetery in Texarkana, Texas, with Rev. Rick Hazelett officiating. Pallbearers will be Darrell Gerber, Kenneth Gerber, Nicky Gerber, Terry Gildon, Avery Murrah and Mark Reamer. Honorary Pallbearers will be Greg Dunlap, Eric Weaver, Curtis Weaver, Patrick W. Gilcrease -- Rev. Robert Elijah"Buck" Gilcrease, 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1943, died Sunday, February 21, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Reatha Louise of the family home; daughter, Linda Karen Taul and husband, Edd of Mountainair, NM; son, Jerry Robert Gilcrease of Albuquerque; son-in-law, Walter Floyd of Albuquerque; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Peggy Jean Floyd; his parents; and two brothers. Since 1981, Mr. Gilcrease was a pastor at the Free Will Baptist Church. He also owned and operated Buck & Jerry's Self Service Station on south Broadway. In his early years, he was a heavy equipment operator in the area. Griego -- Our beloved husband, and devoted father and grandfather, Ernesto, age 71, passed away February 22, 1999. He was a lifelong resident of Carnuel, NM and was born May 15, 1927. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Mario Griego; and a special daughter-in-law, Rita Griego. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bennie Griego; sister, Reyes Gutierrez; five children, Marcella Siller, Frances White, Lori Dykes, Jeannie Brittain and David Griego; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; also many nieces, nephews and friends. He had strong faith in his beliefs as a Jehovah's Witness for 41 years. His love and laughter will never be forgotten. He will be greatly missed. Hacker -- Meridith Juanita Hacker passed on after a short illness to eternal life on February 20, 1999 at the age of 72. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bob Samuel Hacker of Sandia Park; three daughters, Rebecca and husband, Frank Brown of Tucson, Sammie and husband, John Schick of Albuquerque, Deborah and husband, Ed Mulligan of Albuquerque; and one son, Larry and wife, Claudia Hacker of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen and wife, Toni Hacker. She has ten grandchildren and spouses, Cary Rumley, Dennis Seibert, Susan and Mark Hillmeyer, Doug Schick, Shawn and Deandra Mulligan, Bob and Becky Mulligan, Evan Mulligan, Joshua Hacker, Karen and Cheryl Hacker. She has eight great-grandchildren, James Mulligan, Ryan Mulligan, Justin Mulligan, Mark Mulligan, Shannon Mulligan, Eric Hillmeyer, Cary Shuburg and Marjerle Shuburg. Juanita's driving force in life was her family and religion. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and was loved by many. As a mother she was very proud of the accomplishments of her five children. She guided her children to always keep in mind how important family is in life. Education was important to her and she would often babysit so that her children could go to classes. She was an Ordained Minister, holding the office of Elder in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Music was a large part of her life. As her children were growing up she loved to play the piano and organ for them. As a gifted organist she gave a ministry of music to many people. As her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grew up they often spent days with Grandma working in her east mountain home orchard, feeding the birds, or just playing games-anything as long as her kids were having fun. She positively influenced many lives during her 30 years as an independent newspaper distributor in the east mountain area. Memorial services will be held 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 25, 1999 at the Juan Tabo branch of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on 4701 Juan Tabo with High Priest Dick Hahn presiding. Hodges -- Esther Mary Hodges, 83, a resident of Albuquerque for 41 years, passed away Monday, February 22, 1999. She is survived by her children, Byrdie Sue Walters and husband, Dean of Albuquerque, Alden B. Hodges, Jr. and wife, Joyce of Albuquerque and Mary Esther Swaim and husband, Kenneth of San Francisco, CA; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Anna May Mason of Buckner, MO; sister-in-law, Naomi Peace of Albuquerque; nieces; nephews; and many loving family and friends. Mrs. Hodges was preceded in death by her husband, Alden B. Hodges, Sr. on January 11, 1990. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Albuquerque. Jempson -- LTC James R. Jempson (U.S. Army, Retired), 59, a resident of Sandia Park for 5 1/2 years, died Friday, February 19, 1999. In 1954, he was the youngest boy in Buffalo, NY to receive the rank of Eagle Scout. During his 23 year military career, he received numerous awards for his many contributions to include the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star Medal, and Purple Heart. He is survived by his wife, Nancy J.; children, Heather R. Riikonen and husband, Chris of East Lake, FL, Dawn J. Haynes and husband, Chris of Belews Creek, NC, Jessamyn R. and Joseph R. Jempson of Sandia Park, NM; grandchildren, Arianna Rae and Dalton James Riikonen, and Mackenzie Bridgette Haynes; brothers, Charles T. Jempson and wife, Karen of Micanopy, FL, and Samuel R. Jempson of Buffalo, NY; and three nephews. Jennings -- Dr. Charles W. Jennings, 80, went to be with his Lord on Friday, February 19, 1999. He lived in Albuquerque for the last 37 years. He was a member of the Oasis Family Church. He was much loved by his family and friends for his keen intellect, Godly spirit and quiet wisdom. Dr. Jennings was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. He attend the Univ. of Toledo, the Univ. of Calif., and received his Ph.D. in chemistry from Duke University. In WWII, from 1942-46, he served in the US Navy, in the Pacific, reaching the rank of Lieutenant. He was a research chemist at Sandia National Laboratories from 1957 until his retirement in 1988. He was nationally recognized for his research on printed circuits. He received the President's Award from the International Printed Circuit Society in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the advancement of the electronic interconnection technology and the electronics industry. He is survived by his wife, Donna H. Jennings; son, Charles Joseph Jennings and wife, Cathy and daughter, Christa of Okinawa, Japan; daughters, Mary Martha and husband, Leon Hoskins and daughter, Contessa of Columbia, MO; daughter, Anabelle and husband, Don Muchmore and children, Joe and Lisa of Superior, CO; step-daughter, Stephanie Landry and husband, Glenn Smith and children, Ransom and Rachel Heather of Albuquerque; step-son, Mark Landry and children, Jason, Lyla and Misty of Port Arthur, TX; and step-son, Blake Landry and friend, Lori Galloway of California. He was preceded in death by Martha Belle Jennings in 1974. Molina -- Nicolas Molina, 77, a resident of Belen, passed away Monday, February 22, 1999. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and was a very active member of the Belen Senior Citizens. He was in the U.S. Army during WWII and during that time he met his future wife, Marcia Lucero of Taos, NM who was also serving in the WACKS during WWII. They married while they were still in the service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. He was a licensed pilot and loved flying whenever he could. He was wonderful family man and loved his children dearly. All of his spare time was spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcia in 1990; his parents, Nancianseno and Adela Molina; and two brothers, Ruben and Lawrence. He is survived by his children, Nick Jr. of San Francisco, CA, Patricia Molina of Belen, Mary Alice Chavez and husband, Albert of Belen; six grandchildren, Nick Molina and his wife, Leslie, Daniel Trujillo and his wife, Geraldine of Belen, Miguel Trujillo and his wife, Vickie of Peralta, NM, Julie Chavez of Albuquerque, Esequiel Trujillo and his wife, Erica of Belen, and Sarah Mendrano and her husband, Lupe of Belen; six great-grandchildren, Daniel Trujillo III, Ruben Molina, Kassandra Trujillo, Christopher Trujillo, Lupito Mendrano, and Nicolas Trujillo. He is also survived by two brothers, Eloy and his wife, Tommie of Belen, Junior and his wife, Dolores of Albuquerque; one sister, Ninfa Aragon and her husband, Andrew of Albuquerque. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Viewing will be held Tuesday, January 23, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with Rosary to follow at 6:00 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home. Mass will be held Wednesday, January 23, 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Patrick -- Vonceil June Patrick passed away Saturday, February 20, 1999 after a brief illness. She was born February 4, 1932. Her daughter, Shirley Jean Harris, preceded her in death. Picoult -- Charles Picoult, age 91, a resident of McAlester, Oklahoma, died Saturday, February 20, 1999 at a local nursing home. Charles was born on August 31, 1907 in Paris, France to Solomon and Molly Schoenberg Picoult. He married Mariam Dorene Robbins on August 19, 1940 in Jefferson City, Missouri and they lived in Lettleton, Colorado for 20 years and Albuquerque for 20 years. They came to McAlester in December of 1995 from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Charles was a self-employed paint contractor and retired when he was in his 80s. He was a member of the Masonic Temple Lodge #6 of Albuquerque. He was also an active Shriner in the Ballut Abyad Temple of Albuquerque and a member of the Scottish Rite, Centennial Lodge of Perfection, Denver Consistory. He was of the Jewish faith and was a founding member of Congregation Albert in Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mariam Picoult on August 21, 1998; four brothers, Ben Picoult, Joe Picoult, Jack Picoult and Al Picoult; and sister, Rose Schklair. She is survived by daughter, Paulette Picoult of McAlester, OK; two sons, Gregory Picoult and wife, Karen of Solon, OH, Harris Picoult and wife, Denie of Portland, OR; brother, Stanley Picoult and wife, Anja of Rockville, MD; two sisters, Adel Ross and husband, Jerry of Las Vegas, NV, Celia Scileppi of Kernersville, NC; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Randall -- Stephen D. Randall, age 38, resident of Albuquerque since 1972, died February 1999. He is survived by his mother, Joan W. Russell; his father, Donald C. Randall; four sisters; one brother; six nieces and two nephews, with whom he enjoyed playing cards and telling stories. Steve was employed by Dieters German Car Specialists. He was an accomplished singer, winning competitions and playing leads during and after high school. He also raced cars; holding office with the Albuquerque Chapter of the Sports Car Club of America. He has won national recognition for Auto-Cross and has been Regional Champion several times. Steve also worked corners at various racing venues and often taught his skills. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE with Rico Saavedra presiding. Schlosser -- Alan Schlosser, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, February 21, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lillian of Albuquerque; son, Don and wife, Colleen of Los Lunas; grandchildren, Matthew, Luke, Nova Dawn; and brother, Guy Schlosser of Shidler, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ellen Murheid Schlosser; and five brothers, Delbert, Bob, Wes, Herb and Leo. Mr. Schlosser was in the U.S. Army 2nd Armored Division during WWII and was a member of American Legion Post 49. He was born in Crawford County, Illinois where he lived until moving to Cortez, Colorado in 1956. He moved to Albuquerque in 1957 and was a longtime Frontier Airlines employee and former unit manager of Bellamah Corporation. He retired to Mesa, Arizona in 1977 and relocated to Albuquerque in 1995. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 9500 Constitution NE on Wednesday, February 24, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be for the family at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Scott -- Ruby Jean Scott"Miss Ruby", 61, died Sunday, February 21, 1999. She was born on March 10, 1937 to Gene and Ruby May in Forth Worth, Texas. Mrs. Scott is survived by her husband, Chuck Mooney; daughter, Kristen Lynn and husband, Jay Johnston of Albuquerque; sons, Shannon Charles Scott and wife, Lora of Albuquerque, Shawn Cameron Scott and wife, Aida Frances of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Shelby Raeann Johnston, Jacob Waylon Johnston, Shawn Cameron Scott II, and Charles Justin Scott; mother, Ruby May of Albuquerque; sister, April Dawn Morrow of Albuquerque; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Gene May and sister, Patricia Ann"Penny" West. While living in Forth Worth, TX in the 1960's, she was the president and on the Board of Directors of the Casa Amigos Show Theater (Casa Manana Play House). She was also the vice president of the Northwestern Hills Garden Club in Forth Worth. From the mid 60's to the early 70's, she was the president of the Culinary Arts Department of the Junior Women's Club. Her parents founded and operated"Doc Hollidays Hock Shop's" in Albuquerque. Mrs. Scott moved to Albuquerque in early 1976, she owned and operated"Albuquerque Pawn Shop" until the present. She was quite busy as she opened, owned, and operated the"Sundance Saloon and Dance Hall" from 1983 to 1994. To all of her patrons, Mrs. Scott was lovingly known as"Miss Ruby." She was a very prominent business woman, and she loved the pawn shop business and the night life. Mrs. Scott was a social butterfly and loved to be in the spot light. She loved to dance and act. Ruby was a loving boss, friend, daughter, mother, and grandmother. She is loved by many and will be missed by all. Services will be held Wednesday, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE. Simpson -- Jamie Michelle Simpson, 19, formerly of Hiawatha, died late Thursday evening, February 18, 1999 at her residence in Midland, Texas. Jaime was born November 23, 1979 in Las Vegas, Nevada, the daughter of James and Lana Crandall Simpson. She moved to Hiawatha at the age of six and attended Hiawatha Public Schools and Midland Community College. While at Hiawatha High School, she was a member of the Kays and Student Government. Jamie was employed at the Hiawatha Fitness Center and Gus' Restaurant throughout her High School years and Trendy-T's in Midland. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hiawatha. She was preceded in death by a sister, Heather Simpson; maternal grandparents, Jack and Inabelle Crandall; and paternal grandmother, Della Simpson.
