Obituary for Gerber

Patrick"Gube" Gerber, was born July 20, 1932 and passed away after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Harold and Ruby Gerber Texarkana, TX. Pat is survived by his children, Patricia Gerber, Scheryl and husband, Dr. Douglas Weaver, Nancy and husband, Tim Lamkin, Darrell and wife, Tracy Gerber; his grandchildren, Greg and his wife, Candice, Joslynn, Danielle, Eric, Curtis, Tawnie, Patrick W.; and great-grandson, Brandon, all of Albuquerque, (New Mexico). His brothers, Kenneth and wife, Carmen, their family of Texarkana, TX, Nicky and his wife, Sandy, their family of Longview, TX. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Mary Catherine Gildon and her children, Terry and wife, Linda Gildon, their sons, Mary Sue and husband, John Harley, their son, also, surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Pat grew up in Texarkana and at an early age joined the Air Force, was stationed in Albuquerque. After the service he became an Albuquerque Police Officer, retiring with the rank of sergeant after more than 20 years of service. He was affiliated with the Fraternal Order of Police, where he served as an officer in several positions: Temple Lodge #6 AF&AM, 32nd Degree, former member of the Ballut-Abyad Shrine. He retired to Texarkana to do what he enjoyed most, fishing. Graveside services will be held at Chapelwood Cemetery in Texarkana, Texas, with Rev. Rick Hazelett officiating. Pallbearers will be Darrell Gerber, Kenneth Gerber, Nicky Gerber, Terry Gildon, Avery Murrah and Mark Reamer. Honorary Pallbearers will be Greg Dunlap, Eric Weaver, Curtis Weaver, Patrick W. Gerber, Harold Mulberry and Clarence Rowe. Family prefers, if friends desire, memorial contributions be made"In Memory of Pat" to American Cancer Society.
