Black -- Billie Jayne Sparks Black, 70, died Friday, March 6, 1998, in Rio Rancho, NM. She was born July 30, 1927, in Ennis, Texas, the youngest of eight children of John Williams and Lillie Eliza Jane Sparks. She is survived by her husband, Carl Lee Black II of Rio Rancho; and her children, Lola Jane Ulrich of Austin, TX, John Ulrich IV of Bloomfield Hills, MI, B. Ellis French of Allen, TX, Carla Jayne Black McCown of Pflugerville, TX, and William Carl Lee Black of Rio Rancho. She also leaves two step-children, Pamela Ann Black Francis and Carl Lee (Trey) Black III of Tucson, AZ. She also leaves nine grandchildren. Mrs. Black was a gregarious, beautiful woman who never met a stranger. She was known for making friends feel like family. She was an extremely gifted pianist who played professionally and various churches. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The Rev. Dr. Roger Paynter of First Baptist Church of Austin will officiate at graveside services, which will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 10, 1998, at Austin Memorial Park in Austin, TX. Arrangements are being handled by Cook Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar, Austin. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.

Burgess -- Rodney"Rod" Burgess, 60, a resident of Albuquerque since 1946, died Thursday, March 5, 1998. He is survived by his daughters, Shanon Goldberg and husband, Mitch of Lenoir City, TN, and Nisa Fazio and husband, John, of Odessa, TX; grandson, Nicholas Fazio of Odessa, TX; granddaughter, Selena Goldberg of Lenoir City, TN; father, M.G. Burgess of Albuquerque; and aunts, Geneva Bond and Evelyn Clarke, both of Miami, FL. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Burgess in 1993. Mr. Burgess was a longtime employee for AT&T and later was employed by the Intel Corporation. Cameron -- Robert G."Bob" Cameron, 67, a resident of Albuquerque since 1985, died Sunday, March 8, 1998. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Gwen Cameron of Albuquerque; daughter, Florence Cameron; son, Robert Cameron; step-daughter, Elizabeth Hanson and husband, Keith; and grandchildren, Anna and John. Mr. Cameron was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served during the Korean War. He then achieved a Master's Degree in Engineering. Before moving here from New Jersey, he was employed as a Personnel Manager and then retired from A. T. & T. Mr. Cameron was an active volunteer with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) at the Bear Canyon Senior Citizen Center where he gave computer classes. Mr. Cameron was a member of the New Mexico Computer Society, and wrote a column for their monthly newsletter. He was also a Microsoft Beta Tester. Services will be held Thursday, 12:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE, with Pastor Mick Erickson officiating. Interment will take place at 3:00 p.m., at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Fluke -- James H. Fluke, 72, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, died Saturday, March 7, 1998. He is survived by his wife, Judy K. Fluke of Albuquerque; sons, Richard Fluke and wife, Takako of Albuquerque, and Daryl Fluke and wife, Angela of Bernalillo; stepdaughter, Tina Marie Springer and husband, Donald of Greensville, TN; grandchildren, Helen Stipe, Beth Fluke, James Fluke, Carl Matthew Fluke, Stephanie Springer, Emilie Hebron, and Kellie Lynne Hebron-Fluke; great-grandson, Aiden Stipe; niece, Nanette Fluke of Albuquerque; nephew, Leslie Fluke of Loveland, CO; and other loving relatives. James was born in Deming. He was raised in Jemez Springs and in Albuquerque. James served in the US Army during WWII. Francis -- Felicita"Feli" Francis passed away on March 6, 1998 in Albuquerque. She was born in Palas, New Mexico on June 20, 1911 and married Floyd Francis on December 14, 1942 in Albuquerque. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; brother, Raphael; and her two sisters, Rita and Tica. She will be missed by loving neighbors and relatives. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 1998, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. Guentz -- Kenneth A. Guentz, a resident of Albuquerque for the past 42 years, and a former executive with the Rio Grande Steel Company, passed away at his home on Monday, March 9, 1998, of natural causes. He was born at Woodward, Oklahoma on November 19, 1914. Mr. Guentz is survived by Claire Guentz, his wife of 47 years. The Guentz's have two married children, Dudley L. Guentz of Edgewood, New Mexico, and Judith Guentz-Hester of Denver, Colorado; and four grandchildren, Patricia, Amber, Andrea and Kyle. Also surviving is his brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Merle Houk of Albuquerque; his sister-in-law, Betty Lujan of Santa Fe, NM; and his sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Don Bagley of Kansas City, Missouri. Memorial services will be held at Fitzgerald and Sons Chapel, 3113 Carlisle NE at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 1998. The Reverend Ron Grenemeyer will preside. Private interment will take place at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe. Hefferle -- Mary B. Hefferle, died with dignity, Friday, March 6, 1998 in her home. Mary is survived by her younger brother, Tom Balok and his wife, Mary of Salt Lake City, UT; sisters-in-law, Pauline Balok of Los Lunas and Billie Balok of Gallup; nephews, Steve Balok and Glen Morehouse of Los Lunas, Jack Balok of Fence Lake, Alan and Clint Balok and Marlin Morehouse, all of Gallup, and Tom Balok of South Jordan, UT; and friends as dear as family, Virginia Rodgers and Monique Denzler of Albuquerque, and Bertha Ashcroft of Los Lunas. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Balok; brothers and sisters, Anna Balok, Stephen Balok, John Balok Jr., Elizebeth Morehouse, Frank Balok, Pauline Stockton and Jack Balok, Sr. She was born in Page, NM on August 14, 1909 in the Zuni Mountains to immigrant parents, John and Anna Balok. Mary continued her education in the early thirties by enrolling in nursing school at Holy Cross Tuberculosis Sanitarium in Deming, NM. She received her nursing degree, then moved to Gallup, NM to work in St. Mary's Hospital as a floor and later as a surgical nurse. Mary married Joseph Hefferle in early 1940. She then moved to Albuquerque where she spent her life dedicated to her husband and her magical gift of growing fruits and vegetables. Mary's memory will live in the hearts of those who loved her so dearly. Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 11, 1998, 10:30 a.m., St. John Vianncy Catholic Church in Gallup, with Father Walter Opalewski, Celebrant. Huston -- Charles W."Chuck" Huston, Jr. was born on July 1, 1920, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He attended the University of Omaha in Nebraska, where he pursued a degree in business administration. After serving in the US Air Force, he moved to Fargo, North Dakota where be became a top salesman for Pratt-Lambert Paint Company. On April 22, 1963, Chuck suffered a massive stroke, which left him with a speech impediment known as aphasia. Because of this experience Chuck became a dedicated advocate on behalf of stroke victims. He tirelessly promoted the"Aphasic Bill of Rights" and dedicated his time and efforts to the attention of all 50 states as well as the Office of the President of the United States. Hillary Rodham Clinton and US Senator Pete V. Domenici both acknowledged Chuck's work in this area. On April 18, 1997, Senator Domenici placed a statement in the Congressional Record explaining the misconceptions associated with aphasia and acknowledging Chuck's efforts in making people aware of this important issue. Chuck was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Alyce M. Huston, his parents and a sister. He is survived by his children, Doris Gardner of Westminster, CO, Lee Hamilton and wife, Cindy of Grand Forks, ND, Margaret Thompson and husband, Michael of Eden Prairie, MN, Carol Hamilton and husband, David Khon of Beverly Hills, CA; as well as his companion, Lucia Salat. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Jane Hamilton and Betty Mitchell. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 12, 1998 at St. John's United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. Jones -- Ellen H. Jones, 96, a resident of Albuquerque since 1971, died Thursday, March 5, 1998. She is survived by her daughter, Joy L. Medley and husband, Kelman A. of Albuquerque; grandsons, Michael R. Medley of Albuquerque and Glen A. Medley of Gilbert, AZ; granddaughter, Karen L. Medley, R.N. of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Jones, Jr. She came to Gallup as a Harvey Girl, where she met her husband. They retired to Albuquerque in 1971. Mrs. Jones was a member of Hermosa Baptist Church and was active in Sunday School and many other programs. She was a member of ESA service organization. Mrs. Jones enjoyed playing bridge. She loved children and animals, and was always a good friend. Graveside services were held Monday, 2:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery, with Rev. King -- Roger Dale King, 58, a resident of Albuquerque for 15 years, died Friday, March 6, 1998. Mckay -- Daniel (Danny) P. McKay, 16, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, March 6, 1998. Medina -- Thomas Medina Born April 25, 1937 went to be with Our Lord March 6, 1998. Born in Ojo Sarco, NM. He worked in the mines in Colorado and also in the Uranium Mines in Grants, NM, for 22 years. He is survived by daughters, Verda Lucero and Viola Medina; grandchildren, Crystal, Valerie and Adelaido; sisters, Ida Padilla, Mary Martinez, Lurden Rivera; brothers, Ismael Medina wife, Grace and Armando Medina. Morgan -- Morgan Morgan, 68 passed away on Saturday March 7, 1998. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Marie Morgan. He is survived by his three daughters, Georgia Blauch, of Mechanicsburg, PA, Barbara Perry of Camdenton, MO, Susanne M. Morgan served in the Air Force and owned and operated AAA Collection Agency for 28 years in Albuquerque. Potts -- Barbara Potts, beloved wife of the late Frank Potts, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 8, 1998 at the age of 62. Her life was a shining example of faith in Jesus Christ. Roybal -- Mr. Louie Roybal, age 56, died Sunday in Albuquerque. Mr. Roybal was a member of the San Jose Catholic Church and was involved as a prayer group leader. He is survived by his mother, Connie Roybal; wife, Alma Roybal; daughters, Carol Roybal, Melissa Becerra and Lillian Peralta; sisters, Joan Stephens and Stella Baca; and 10 grandchildren. Sanchez -- Natividad Sanchez, 92, passed away on March 8, 1998. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Erminio Sanchez, Nick P. Sanchez, Gabriel Sanchez and Philipe Sanchez. She is survived by her nieces, Christine Sanchez, and Mary Garcia; sister-in-law, Josie Sanchez, and numerous other nieces and nephews, and family members who loved her and will miss her. Snodgrass -- Mary Snodgrass, 74, a resident of Albuquerque for 46 years, died Saturday, March 7, 1998. She is survived by her only daughter, Melinda M. Snodgrass, a screenwriter, and her son-in-law, Carl D. Keim Jr., an Architect-Intern with Flatow, Moore, Shaffer & McCabe. Mrs. Snodgrass was preceded in death by her husband, J. Vigil -- Mary Grande Vigil, born January 6, 1898 lived to be 100 years young. A life-long resident of Albuquerque, she passed away peacefully at St. Francis Nursing Home Thursday, March 5, 1998. She is survived by two children, Carmen Montoya and husband, Antonio, and Martin Vigil and long-time dedicated companion, Helen Kenney. Mary was also a mother to a second family, her granddaughters, Teresa Marie and Connie Louise. She raised the girls with their father when her daughter-in-law, Marie passed away. The girls were ages 4 and 2 at the time. This act of love was a testimony to her spirit of unselfish giving to her family and all those around her. She is also survived by one sister, Rose Garcia of Hesperia, CA; loving granddaughters, Frances Montoya of Albuquerque, Teresa Muldez and husband, Fran of Clayton, NM, Connie Spence and husband, Michael of Star, ID; and grandson, Richard Montoya and wife, Fran of Albuquerque; five great-grandchildren, Rachel Muldez, David Montoya, Mike Montoya, Stephen Montoya and Gabriel Martin Spence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin; her parents, Charlie and Carmelita Garcia Grande; her brothers, Diamonte Grande, Milton Grande; and sisters, Margaret Richardi and Felicia Richardson. She had many friends and acquaintances from her many years of service with J.C. Penney in downtown Albuquerque. Mary lived a very active life through her 94th birthday. Her father, Charlie Grande was born in Naples, Italy and was a pioneer businessman in Albuquerque. He was the proprietor of the White House Hotel and Restaurant-Saloon located on Railroad Avenue across the train depot in"New Albuquerque," now known as First Street. The family wishes to acknowledge Carmen and Frances Montoya for their daily loving care of our mother while she was at St. Francis Nursing Home as well as the staff at St. Francis for the wonderful care they gave to Mary over the past five years. Rosary will be held on Sunday, March 8 at 7:00 p.m. at Strong-Thorne Mortuary. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church on Monday, March 9 at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

He was born September 15, 1916 to Fred W. and Louise (Kohlmann) Windmoeller Sr. in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is survived by his wife, Nell Ludwig Windmoeller Jr. of the home; children, Henry Windmoeller and wife, Stephanie of Chevy Chase, MD, and Louise Swanson and husband, Steve of Littleton, CO; stepchildren, Rosie Tripp and husband, Don Jr. of Socorro, Darlene Anderson and husband, C.B. of Albuquerque, and Charlene Coles and husband, Lonnie of Anthony, NM; grandchildren, Jason Windmoeller, Kelly Swanson, Kerrie Swanson, Katie Swanson, Don Tripp III, Kim Gonzales, Natalie Thompson, Chad Anderson, Justin Coles, and Michele Coles; five great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, March 10, at 7:00 p.m. at San Miguel Catholic church in Socorro. Yates -- Glen Evans Yates, 84, died Friday, March 6, 1998, at a local hospital in Abilene, TX. He is survived by his wife, Laura Ann Kyzar Yates of Abilene, TX; daughter, Charlene Richmond and husband, Richard of Pagosa Springs, CO; sister, Dorothy Evans and husband, Arthur D. of Abilene, TX; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Yates was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Rook Yates on January 16, 1992. He was born in Elmer, OK on December 24, 1913. Mr. Yates graduated from high school in Mt. View, OK, and was a 1936 graduate of Oklahoma A & M in Stillwater, OK. He was a sales manager with GMAC for 33 years and moved to Abilene from Albuquerque three years ago. Mr. Yates married Laura Ann Kyzar in Abilene on May 2, 1997. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque and a 32nd Degree Mason. Mr. Yates was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theaters and attaining the rank of 1st Lieutenant. Services will be held Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., at Chester T.
