ALGOTT -- Gladys Matilda Algott passed away at her home, on Tuesday, December 5th, 2006. Born on January 7th, 1918, to parents, Adolphus Louis Maedgen and Lilly Bell Reynolds, Gladys was a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico for 42 years. She was co-owner of Albuquerque Collections Service, along with her husband, Raymond F. Algott, who preceded her in death in 2004. Gladys was also a Veteran of the United States Army, County Treasurer in Riley County, Kansas, and owned The Credit of Manah. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Inner Wheel, and Sigma-Sigma Sorority. She is survived by her son, Gerald Algott and wife, Nancy, of Albuquerque, NM; her sister, Barbara Mandel, of Las Cruces, NM; her brother, Laneal Maedgen, of Valera, TX; grandchildren, Kelley and Miranda Algott; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services are conducted by Strong-Thorne Mortuary, Albuquerque, NM, 505-842-8800, with interment to follow at a later date, in Leonardville, Kansas, at Leonardville Cemetery.
