Obituary for ALGOTT

Gladys Matilda Algott passed away at her home, on Tuesday, December 5th, 2006. Born on January 7th, 1918, to parents, Adolphus Louis Maedgen and Lilly Bell Reynolds, Gladys was a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico for 42 years. She was co-owner of Albuquerque Collections Service, along with her husband, Raymond F. Algott, who preceded her in death in 2004. Gladys was also a Veteran of the United States Army, County Treasurer in Riley County, Kansas, and owned The Credit of Manah. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Inner Wheel, and Sigma-Sigma Sorority. She is survived by her son, Gerald Algott and wife, Nancy, of Albuquerque, NM; her sister, Barbara Mandel, of Las Cruces, NM; her brother, Laneal Maedgen, of Valera, TX; grandchildren, Kelley and Miranda Algott; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services are conducted by Strong-Thorne Mortuary, Albuquerque, NM, 505-842-8800, with interment to follow at a later date, in Leonardville, Kansas, at Leonardville Cemetery.
