Murphree -- Evie E. Murphree, 101, a resident of Albuquerque since 1975, and formerly of Houston, TX, died on Sunday, September 20, 1998. She is survived by her daughter, Helen M. Long of Albuquerque; daughter-in-law, Gwendolyn Murphree of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Nancy Long, Marisa and Max Sanchez, and Alexis and Jessica Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Murphree, Sr.; sons, Harold E. Murphree, Jr., and Edward E. Murphree; and son-in-law, Worth Long. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Albuquerque Manor for their thoughtfulness and tender care given to Evie during this last year of her life. Cremation has taken place and there will be a family gathering at a later date to scatter her cremains and celebrate her life and tenacious spirit. French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd, NE.
