Pinkard -- Paulette"Polly" J. Pinkard, 58, a resident of Albuquerque for two years, died on Tuesday, March 13, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth M. Pinkard; daughter, Laura Todd and husband, Gregg of Jacksonville, AR; son, James Pinkard of San Antonio, TX; mother, Julia Johnson of Virginia, MN; sisters, Penny Harrington of Virginia, MN and Rae Lange of Memphis,TN. Polly was a devoted and loving wife and mother and a very loyal friend. Always remember she lived a full and happy life. She was always true to herself and true to others. She worked for the US Air Force for 18 years. Polly was a member of the American Society of Military Comptrollers and a member of the Association of Government Accountants. She loved to fly and was both a Commercial and Instructor pilot. She completed Air War College and was actively enrolled in the DLAMP program. She received numerous Air Force awards and accommodations. Polly was also a member of MENSA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The 10th Life Foundation, P.O. Romero -- Mela Romero, 91, a resident of Albuquerque for over 24 years, died Saturday, March 10, 2001. She is survived by her sons, Arthur Romero and wife, Virginia of Belen, Charles Romero of Glendale, CA, and Gene Romero and wife, Shirley of Kingsport, TN; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter; and special nieces and nephew and good friends, Celia, Peggy and Mike. She was preceded in death by husband, Nash Romero in 1978 and her parents, Juan Martinez and Piedad Otero. Mela was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited Thursday, March 15, 2001, 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated on Friday March 16, 2001, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption, Lomas and Tennessee. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Smith -- Richard Britt Smith, 81, a resident of Albuquerque for 14 years, died on Monday, March 12, 2001. Richard is survived by his wife of 52 years, Robbie Smith; daughter, Skylar Smith of Reston, VA; son, Mark Smith of Orange County, CA. He was preceded in death by his son, Phillip Smith in 1966. Richard retired from the Securities and Exchange Commission in January of 1986. He then moved to Albuquerque the following year where he resided with his wife. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2001, at St. Johnťs Episcopal Cathedral, 4th & Silver SW. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. John's Episcopal Cathedral Endowment Fund, 318 Silver SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102 or charity of choice.

Webb -- Orval Webb, a resident of Albuquerque since 1937, died Monday, March 12, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Juanita L. Webb of the family home; sons, Ed Webb and wife, Patricia of Albuquerque and Victor (Bobby) Webb and wife, Jeannie of Peralta; daughter, Jeanie Fishel and husband, Bob of Glenmoore, PA; seven grandchildren, Mike Webb, Robbie Webb, Shauna Schroeder, Erik Fishel, Leslie Fishel, Robert Webb, Patrick Webb; four great-grandchildren, Austin Webb, Trent Webb, Hannah Schroeder, Nicole Webb; sister, Joyce Pittmon and husband, Morris of Silom Springs, AR. Orval was born on February 1, 1917 in Olustee, OK to Alanzo Grey Webb and Mattie Estelle DeShazo Webb. the family lived in Reed, OK where Orval attended school at Jay Buckle Springs Schoolhouse. They later lived in Wellington, TX, Lone Rock, AR and Willo Springs, MO. He moved to Albuquerque in 1937. He worked leveling land, and later drove a truck for Works Market. On July 13, 1940 he married Juanita Wiley and they farmed in Willard, NM and Herford, TX. They returned to Albuquerque in 1946 where he worked for J.W. Jones Construction, Allison & Haney Construction and Hydro Conduet Corporation until May of 1974, when he was forced to retire because of heart problems. Orval loved to fish, and as health permitted, he spent many winters in San Carlos, Mexico fishing from his tin boat. Services will be held, Thursday, 2:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor David Morgan. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Pallbearers will be Mike Webb, Robbie Webb, Robert Webb, Erik Fishel, Dan Schroeder and Jerry Wiley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Patrick Webb and Leon Wiley. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Thursday, 12:00 noon until service. Biery -- Charles Biery, 83, a resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, March 12, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Priscilla; and daughter, Elaine. Mr. Biery was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine and son, Chuck. Cremation has taken place and a private Memorial Service will be held. Bonnel -- Eula Mae Atchley Bonnel, 87, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico for 23 years, left for her eternal home on Sunday, March 11, 2001. She is survived by her daughters, Janice Kent and husband, Larry of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Joyce Reese and husband, Martin of Spanish Fork, Utah; son, Jerry Riggs and wife, Toby, of Lee's Summit, Missouri; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Eula moved to Kansas City, Missouri from Oklahoma at the age of 51. She lived in Kansas City, Missouri for 50 years where she was employed by Wolferman's Grocery Stores for 15 years until their closing. Eula moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1978 from Kansas City, Missouri. She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She had been involved in the American Business Women's Association and the Women's Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 7900, Kansas City, Missouri. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her smile and spirit will always be with us. Services will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2001, 1:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints - Manzano Ward, 12701 Indian School. Brown -- Eva G. Brown, 84, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, and resident of Albuquerque since 1933, died Sunday, March 11, 2001. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Joseph H. Brown; sons, Bill Logsdon, Roy Logsdon and Clifford Dale Logsdon, all of Albuquerque and Robert Brown of Chandler, AZ; daughters, Mae Current of California and Joyce Vanderleest of Marina, CA, Ruby Hamilton of Phoenix, AZ and Rosie Scott of Albuquerque; and 105 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held Thursday, 2:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Alameda, 8818 2nd NW, with Rev. Marvin Capehart officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Buttke -- Allen K. Buttke, 71, a loving husband and devoted father, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 10, 2001. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Harriet Buttke and two brothers, Harold Buttke and Eddie Buttke. Al is survived by his wife of 41 years, Warnell (Ruby) Buttke; one son, Allen F. Buttke and wife, Rene, of Edgewood; four daughters, Linda K. Buttke, of Los Lunas, Patricia Kemp and husband, Lee of Albuquerque, Wanda Kemp of Albuquerque, Sue Lovett and husband, Billy of Edgewood; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Copet of Marshfield, WI; brother, Carl Buttke of Alabama. Al was born and raised in Marshfield, WI. He retired after serving 21 years with the U.S. Air Force. Al was a life member of American Legion Post 99, the Stievos, 40/ 8 Voiturr 1534 and VFW Post 401. He served as a Commander of Post 99 and as a Department Commander for New Mexico. His most recent appointment was Programs Director for the American Legion Department of NM, which he held for 21 years. He was a member of the National Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation Commission in Washington, DC for 15 years. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the SICU staff at the VA Medical Center for the wonderful care they provided. Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2001 at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. A Funeral Service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2001 at the American Legion Post 49, 11007 Central NE. Pallbearers are Ralph Kemp, RJ. Kemp, Mark Bonham, Lee Kemp, Billy Lovett and Tony Santillanes. Interment will follow at National Cemetery in Santa Fe at 11:30 a.m. A gathering of family and friends will be held at American Legion Post 49 following interment. Arrangements are by Strong-Thorne Mortuary.

Cole -- Stephanie Ann Cole, 23, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, March 12, 2001. She was the beloved daughter of W. Dwight and Barbara Cole; sister of Amy Marie Markham and husband, Jeff and Jason John Cole; and granddaughter of Mary C. Savage, all of Albuquerque.
