HEBNER, ETHAN PHILLIP Ethan Phillip Hebner ("Bubba Kat"), 20 of Albuquerque, died on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from injuries sustained in a car accident. Ethan was born on July 5, 1994 in Albuquerque to Greg and Tammy Hebner where he attended Dennis Chavez Elementary, Madison Middle School and La Cueva High School. Ethan was very involved in Boy Scouts and this was a major part of his, and his family's lives. Ethan earned his Arrow of Light and was an Eagle Scout, joining his father and brothers as Eagles. He backpacked through Philmont Scout Ranch and stood on the top of the Tooth of Time. He was an Assistant Scoutmaster and was currently serving as an Eagle Scout advisor for Troop 220, helping the next generation of Scouts become Eagles. Ethan is survived by his parents, his brothers: Mitchell and Evan Hebner, all of Albuquerque, his grandparents: Marilyn Baker, Trilla, IL and Ted and Norma Hebner, Pekin, IL; his uncles and aunts: Andy and Christine Baker of Trilla, IL and Mike and Sally Hebner of Abilene, TX. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Louis Baker, Trilla, IL and his uncle Tony Joe Baker, Trilla, IL. Ethan had a radiant smile, and showed it all the time. He laughed often and included others in his humor. Ethan never met a stranger. Music was always a part of his life and he played bass in a local band. His love of life and people was only surpassed by his love of all animals, first fostered when he was a youth volunteer at Animal Humane of New Mexico and Talking Talons Youth Leadership. He especially liked reptiles, amphibians, and spiders even when they occasionally bit him. Always seeking adventure, Ethan planned to journey to the Amazon rainforest and study animals in the wild. He loved the open and quiet spaces of the Illinois countryside and looked forward to visiting every summer. Ethan had an eclectic and deep spiritual outlook that went far beyond his age, and which sustained both him and his family during our difficult times. A Celebration of Ethan's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at Covenant United Methodist Church, 8510 Wyoming Blvd NE with a reception following at the church. Urn bearers are Mitchell Hebner, Evan Hebner, Jordan Orlovsky, Kevin Bielek, Drew Stahelin and Mark Westlake. Dress as you wish because Ethan wanted people to be comfortable. Ethan's family would like to thank the compassionate and caring staff at UNMH Trauma ICU. One of Ethan's final gifts was to bless the lives of many others as an organ donor. Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be returned to the Earth at the places he loved. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Animal Humane of New Mexico, Talking Talons Youth Leadership, The Rainforest Trust or any animal charity of your choice. Please visit our online guestbook for Ethan at www.frenchfunerals.com. FRENCH - Wyoming 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE (505) 823-9400
