SISNEROS -- Alfonso "Al" "Ponch" Daniel Sisneros Born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, February 17, 1983 Departed March 15, 2008, resided in Albuquerque, New Mexico. While on a short visit to Melrose, Massachusetts for the Easter Holiday and to visit his mother, step-father, and extended family, Alfonso passed away due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Alfonso was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, then moved to Melrose Massachusetts at the age of five. He spent his childhood traveling back and forth to be with his family in New Mexico. Alfonso graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 2001, where he played basketball. He attended the University of Massachusetts, Salem State College, and was presently working on his degree at UNM in Albuquerque. Alfonso always knew someday he would come "home" to New Mexico, and we are all grateful for the short amount of time we were given to have him back where he wanted to be. Alfonso was a hard-working young man with a contagious smile and the ability to touch people's hearts quickly. For the past year, Alfonso was employed as a restaurant manager for Village Inn restaurants in Albuquerque and got the opportunity to know the business his father has known all his life. Alfonso spent many occasions working side by side with his dad, as recently as catering for the NMAA at the UNM "PIT". Alfonso also had aspirations of becoming a firefighter so he could continue to give to others besides his family. Preceded in death by great-grandparents, Alfonso "Al" "Radio" Gurule and Josephine Apodoca Gurule, of Santa Fe; Fecundo and Helen Sisneros, of Santa Fe, and Alois Reich, father of Robert Reich, of Melrose, MA. Beloved son of Harold "Anthony" Sisneros and wife, Carla, of Albuquerque; Laura Reich and husband, Robert, of Melrose. Loving brother of Mellissa Romero and husband, Randy; twin brothers, Cameron and Jeremy Sisneros; Stephanie Wallace and Tessa Reich of Melrose. Adored grandson of Frances and Joe R. Sisneros, formerly of Santa Fe, residing in Rio Rancho; Lucy Trujillo of Santa Fe; and Clementine Reich of Melrose. Proud and loving uncle to Natalia, Mya, Julian, Camille, Leroy, and Charles Jr. All of whom he would have done anything for to assure their safety and happiness. Special aunt, Sylvia Sisneros of Santa Fe; children and surrogate brothers, and sister; Joshua Herrera, Jason Herrera, and Angelique Lujan. Special cousins, Loretta and Steve Gonzales and daughter, Victoria. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Christian Burial was held on March 19, 2008, in Melrose MA. A Rosary will be recited Monday, March 31, 2008, at 6:30 p.m. at the residence. A second Rosary will be recited at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, with the Memorial Service following at 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Annunciation parish 2532 Vermont NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. for any further information, call 410-1148.
