CLEVENGER -- Elizabeth "Betty" Clevenger, age 77 and a resident of Lawton, OK, died Thursday February 15, 2007 in Lawton following an illness. She was born on January 25, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA to J. Howard and Kathryn (Thomas) Grundy. She married Dr. Marshall Lewis Clevenger, M.D. in Philadelphia in April of 1958. He passed away on May 12, 1984. They were longtime residents of Albuquerque, moving here in 1958. Her husband founded the La Mesa Medical Center in Albuquerque, where she was a registered nurse. They were active supporters of the New Mexico Military Institute Alumni and Student activities. She was a member of the Junior League of Albuquerque. Mrs. Clevenger moved to Lawton, OK in 2002. Survivors include a daughter, Lisa McTiernan of Austin, TX; three sons and daughter-in-law, LTC Marshall L. Clevenger and Laura of Lawton, OK, George Parkhurst and Christine of Concord, CA, and Robert Kazmir Latven and Lisa of Thousand Oaks, CA; seven grandchildren, Sara Clevenger, Kristen Clevenger, Ashley McTiernan, Elizabeth Parkhurst, William Parkhurst, Katy Parkhurst, and Alix Latven; a sister-in-law, JoAnn Lammel and her husband, Robert of Albuquerque, NM and numerous other family in New Mexico. Her parents; husband; and a grandson, Robert Latven, preceded her in death. A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE with Deacon Sandy Hall officiating. COUPE -- Linda Coupe, 70, passed away on February 17, 2007. She was a life-long resident of Albuquerque, having been born on April 14, 1936. She is survived by son Joey Jones of Albuquerque, son Allen Jones and wife Doris of Albuquerque: daughter Diana Disch and fiancee Mike Pectol of Las Vegas, NV; sister Elsie Lock of Albuquerque; brother Lorenzo Jaramillo of Albuquerque, Frank Jaramillo of Belen; sister Mary Lou Hoselton of Belen; eight grandchildren, Adrienne Jones, Matthew Jones, Kevin Jones, Brandon Disch, Melissa Disch, Cristopher Nagy, Nicole Jones, Jesse Jones; and one great-grandchild, Dylan Disch. She was a very loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed. CRISWELL -- Judith Marie Criswell, of Albuquerque, born November, 7, 1940, died unexpectedly on February 14, 2007 at UNM Hospital. Survived by her loving husband, James Criswell of Albuquerque; daughter, Julene Cristine Criswell-Sharon and husband, Paul of Toronto, Canada; brother, Bruce Bond and wife, Cathy of Los Lunas; aunts, Beverly and Rosemarie "Dudy"; nieces, Tamara, Jennifer; and nephew, Shane. Judy was a exquisite woman, whose passions were cooking, gardening with her daughter, and raising Pekingese dogs, including her beloved dog Tuesday, Xie Xie, and her cat, Tor. Judy resided part time in Toronto, Canada and will be missed greatly by her family and friends there. A Memorial Service in her honor will be held at Holiday Park Community Church, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2007, 11435 Montgomery Blvd. NE, 87111. A reception immediately following to celebrate her life will be held at the residence of best friend, Cynthia Pounds, 12716 Chico Rd. NE, 505-294-7175. DEMAS -- James N. "Jim" Demas, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1951 died on Sunday, February 19, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Louise Demas; sons, James Demas, Jr. and wife, Susan, Tom Demas and wife, Jacque, and Chris Demas and wife, Melissa; step-daughter, Sandra Cooke; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Connie Beall and Helen Krahling; and numerous other relatives and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Elsie Fraley Demas in 1967 and his sister, Catherine. He was born on September 20, 1919 in Washington, D.C. to Nicholas and Rachael Demas. Jim proudly served in WWII in the United States Army as a member of the 70th Infantry Division Trail Blazers. He was employed by Sandia Labs for 30 years, retiring in 1981. A private Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2007 at Fairview Memorial Park followed by a reception at 1:00 p.m. at the home of Chris and Melissa Demas, 8332 Manuel Cia Ct. EVANS -- John Charles Evans September 12, 1961 - February 15, 2007 Our beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, John Charles Evans left us to join his Father in heaven on Thursday, February 15, 2007. John was born to Bob and Mary Evans in Albuquerque. He was the youngest of four children. After losing his father at a young age, John, his brothers and sister were raised by a courageous and devoted mother, Mary. Friends may visit with John from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2006 at Cope Memorial Chapel, 404 W. Arrington, Farmington, NM. FLOOD -- Marina A. Flood, born June 25, 1916 in Dubuque, IA, went to the Lord on Friday, February 16, 2007. She is survived by her twin sister Marcella Kessler and her husband Charles of Albuquerque; her brother Irwin Wagner and wife Dorothy of Dubuque, IA; sister-in-law Leta Wagner of Dubuque, IA; brother-in-law Ralph Heiring of Dubuque, IA; niece Becky Dominguez and husband Max and their sons Max Charles and Joe Michael of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Warren M. Flood. She left Iowa in 1941 due to her health, and moved to Tucson, AZ; then Denver; and finally to Albuquerque in 1951. She was a member of Shrine of St. Bernadette since 1958, and was a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She retired from Southern Union Gas Company in 1977 after 25 years of service. Marina and Warren loved to spend their winters in Mesa, AZ, loved to fish, travel and play cards. Her last few years were spent at Las Colinas Village. Special thanks to the staff of Kaseman Presbyterian Hospice and to the caregivers at FootPrints of Albuquerque. GRAGG -- Rita Lucille Gragg was born August 15, 1938 in Rapid City, South Dakota. She passed away Sunday, February 18, 2007 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Rita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She had a passion for art and enjoyed crafting ceramics, as well as, teaching others the skill of making ceramics. Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Kenneth Gragg and she is survived by her father, Charles Davis of Lincoln, NE; three sons, Ronald David Warf and wife, Odelia of Houston, TX, Scott David Warf of Auburn, WA, and David Alan Warf of Las Vegas, NV; one brother, Richard Davis of California; four grandchildren, Danielle, Asia, Cody and Tyler; other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. HULL -- Richard F. "Dick" Hull, Lt. Col USAF (Ret), 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 16, 2007. Dick was born on May 26, 1922 in Colorado Springs, CO to Harold Hull and Margaret D. Hull. He grew up in Denver and, after attending the University of Denver, he joined the U.S. Air Force. Dick proudly served his country during WWII as a bombardier flying the B-17s. His plane and crew were hit by enemy fire and Dick spent 19 months in a German POW camp. Upon his return home, he met his very special lady, Mary Jane, who was a stewardess with United Air Lines. Dick and Mary Jane were married on January 5, 1946 in Montgomery, AL. Dick's many assignments in the Air Force enabled him to serve in Alaska, Alabama, Germany,Virginia and California. During his military career, he was awarded many honors, ribbons, and medals including the Air War Medal and the Purple Heart. Dick retired from the Air Force in 1970 in San Bernardino, CA. As a civilian, he was employed by the San Bernardino County Hospital as a patient services manager. He retired in 1980 and was active in various organizations including the United Way and Toastmasters. Dick enjoyed many sports, especially tennis and golf. His leisure time was happily spent enjoying great rounds of golf and participating in tournaments. He and Mary Jane also enjoyed travel, embarking on many cruise vacations through the years. Dick will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends and by those whose lives he touched. He will be remembered not only for his great love for his country and patriotism, but also as a loving, devoted brother, husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Jane; one daughter, Kathy Stephens and husband, Don, of Albuquerque; two brothers, Jack Hull and wife, Carol, of Aurora, CO and Bob Thomas and wife, Mary Ellen of Spring Lake, MI; one sister, Barbara Kruse of Laramie, WY; a cousin, Don Doolittle and wife, Dana, of Orange, CA; two granddaughters, Kelly Stephens and fiance, J.J. Territo, both of Chandler, AZ and Kristin Stephens of Albuquerque; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2007 at Daniels Family Funeral Services. KLARKOWSKI -- Rosemary Teresa (Miller) Klarkowski, 76, also known as Mrs. K. to students of Hanover Highlands Elementary School, former 42-year resident of Hanover Park IL, passed away peacefully in her sleep early Saturday morning, February 17, 2007 in Albuquerque NM after a two-year battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Chester of Albuquerque; her sister, Ann I. Miller; her brother, Lee Miller; and son, Chester Jr. She is survived by her younger brother, Russell Miller; sons, Michael and wife, Doreen of Elgin, IL, James and wife, Patricia of Albuquerque; daughter, Janine Patterson and husband, Brian of Albuquerque; and nine grandchildren, James, Alice, Corey, Russell, Alethea, Patrick, Madelaine, Ellery, and Creighton. MYERS -- Lois Eleanor Myers, 92, passed away at her home into the loving arms of her Savior on Friday, February 16, 2007. Lois was born to Leo and Emily Lacey in a sod house in Wallace County, KS, on January 26, 1915. After earning her RN degree in 1936, she married Preston, her high school sweetheart, and they made their home in Denver, CO. In 1955, the family moved to Albuquerque when Preston was relocated by Mountain Bell Telephone Co. She dedicated her life to loving and caring for her family, friends, and many in need of her loving care. She was a faithful and supporting member of St. John's United Methodist Church for 52 years. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Preston, and her sister, Fern Levan. She is survived by her sister, Laberta Powell; daughter Donna Gardner and husband, Murray, of Kamuela, HI; daughter Shirley Marble and husband, Cliff, of Albuquerque; and daughter Emily Greenwood and husband, Dave, also of Albuquerque; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many loyal friends. PIERUCKI -- Christina Elena Pierucki, M.D., 51, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, CO. She is survived by her father, Capt. E. John Pierucki USN (Ret.) and stepmother, Barbara Pierucki; sister, Angelina Louise Pierucki of Finksburg, MD; brother, Eric John Pierucki of Volta Redonda, Brazil and sister-in-law, Andreia Barcelos Pierucki. Born September, 9, 1955 in Washington D.C., she attended various schools abroad and in the U.S. due to her father's Navy assignments. In 1973, she graduated from Eldorado High School in Albuquerque, later graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1978 and a Doctorate of Medicine in 1987 from the University of New Mexico. She completed her surgery internship at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, later practicing in French Camp, Modesto and Sacramento, CA. She was honored in 1988 for "Service above Self" by the Rotary Club of Albuquerque Del Norte with a Paul Harris Fellow Award in recognition of her skills as a medical surgeon and compassionate care of the many patients she treated. In 1997, she joined the Fort Collins Surgical Associates as a general surgeon specializing in breast diseases and later had an independent surgical practice in Fort Collins. She was also a trauma surgeon at Poudre Valley Hospital. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2007, 3:00 p.m., at Faith Lutheran Church, 10000 Spain NE. SUGGS -- James Edward Suggs was born October 3, 1924, in Pauls Valley, OK and went home to be with his Lord Saturday, February 17, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn of 57 years; daughters, Sheryl Barrett of Edmond, OK, and Linda Thomas and husband, Gary of Elko, NV; five grandchildren, Geoff of San Francisco, CA, Jennifer of Indianapolis, IN, Megan of Albuquerque, Kyle of Norfolk, VA, and Kurt of Elko, NV; and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry Suggs and wife, Carlene of Pauls Valley, OK, and Donald Suggs of Arlington, TX; and numerous family and friends. Following high school graduation, Jim joined the U.S. Navy. After flight training, he transferred to the U.S. Marines as a fighter pilot where he earned three distinguished flying crosses along with other medals. Jim had a State Farm Insurance Agency for over 20 years in Albuquerque. He had been a Christian from boyhood and in later years rededicated his life to serving Jesus Christ, his church and his community. Jim also enjoyed the morning fellowship with his golfing friends. VANDERFECHT -- Alice Vanderfecht, 97, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away Friday, February 16, 2007. She is survived by her daughter, Loretta M Stark; grandsons, Frank J. Ruvolo and wife, Carol and Roger J. Ruvolo and wife, Dianne; granddaughter, Diana M. Duke and special friend, Daniel Montano; great-grandchildren Cinnamon R. Ruvolo, Robert E. ZELENY -- James Zeleny, 61, from Artesia, NM, and current longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2007. He was a National Champion race car driver and was inducted into the Drag Racing Hall of Fame. He is survived by his sons, Jason and Troy; daughter, Shannon; brother, Travis; and sister, Carolyn. A private Memorial Service will be held at the family's home on Wednesday, February 21, 2007.
