MARTINEZ -- George S. Martinez, 62, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2008. He was a life-time resident of Los Ranchos, NM. George served honorably in the US Army and worked as an Iron worker and meat cutter. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alberto and Lorenzita Martinez. He is survived by his children, George Martinez, Jr. and Natalia Jaramillo; former wife, Dorothy Martinez; and grandchildren, Monique and Logan Martinez; sisters, Priscilla Cordova and Terri Lujan; brother, Eddie Hopkins; and other family and friends who loved him and will miss him. Services will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church, 4th and Mildred, NW, on Wednesday, September 3, 2008. The Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. followed by the celebration of Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Joseph Jo Jo Baca, Isacc Santiago Martinez, Steve Cordova Jr., Joe Nieto, Eddie Hopkins, and Donald Harrison. LUJAN -- Peter Lujan of Albuquerque,New Mexico died at his residence on August 21st. Mr. Lujan was born in Pastura, New Mexico on September 20, 1923. He graduated high school in Tucumcari, New Mexico, where he was president of his class. He attended Lourdes Seminary before enlisting in the United States Army in June of 1943. He served with distinction with the Parachute Airborne Command and fought in the Pacific Theater earning a Silver Star for Valor in the liberation of Luzon, Philippines. He married Eva Sierra in June 1946. Following discharge from the service Mr. Lujan worked for the Bureau of Reclamation before attending and graduating from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Arts in Mechanical Engineering in 1956. He was a founding member of the engineering firm, Bridgers and Paxton where he worked for over 43 years and retired as an Executive Vice President. He was responsible for the development and completion of many major engineering projects in the city of Albuquerque, and other major cities in the southwest. An avid golfer, Mr. Lujan was known and revered by many in the community and was active in multiple civic affairs. He was a member of the Albuquerque Rotary Club. Mr. Lujan is survived by his wife, and two sisters, Bertha Bisbee of Valley Center, California and Mary Lujan of Fresno, California and a brother Lawrence Lujan of Emonak, Alaska. His children include sons Steven of Maui, Hawaii, Peter, Michael and David and daughter Patricia Reed of Albuquerque. He was blessed with eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. A Rosary and Mass will be held at 9:30 AM on August 26th at Our Lady of the Fatima Church at 4020 Lomas Boulevard Northeast in Albuquerque. Mr. Lujan will be interned August 26th, at 1:00 PM at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

LUJAN -- Raul J. Lujan, 38, was reunited with his mother, Rita Lujan, in heaven on Wednesday, July 30, 2008. He is survived by his children, Angelica Lujan, Aleczander Lujan and Avery Lujan; grandchildren, Mario McNeely and Mikaela McNeely; sister, Michelle Smith and husband Demitrius; close family members, Naomi Gallegos, Melecia Lucero, Lawrence Lucero, Jane Chacon and husband Pete, Tino Lujan, June Burress, Paul Gallegos, Deevon Gallegos, Chamar Gallegos, and Christian Gallegos. VIGIL -- Ernesto Vigil, 92, of Torreon, NM passed away Saturday, July 12, 2008 in Albuquerque, NM with his loving family beside him. Ernesto was born August 30, 1915 in Torreon, NM to Antonio Jose and Rosarito (Lujan) Vigil. Ernesto married Carlota G. (Garcia) Vigil on December 16, 1935 in Manzano, NM, she preceded him in death on November 28, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his parents; sister, Alicia Vigil; and brother, Pete Vigil. Ernesto is survived by his sons, Ernie Vigil and wife Melba; Gabriel Sanchez; Dan Vigil and wife Donna; Abe Vigil and wife Antoinet; daughters, Selena Lujan and husband Rosendo; Carol Chavez and husband Carmel; Onila Garcia and husband Mariano; brother, Tony Vigil; sisters, Lupita Martinez; Theresa Candelaria; Mary Aragon; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. A Rosary will be recited on Monday, July 14, 2008 at 7:00 p.m., at the San Antonio Catholic Church in Torreon, NM.
