BRAMAN -- Donald Edwin Braman, Jr. "Paka", 79, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, June 30, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Janice; his sons, Andrew and James; daughters-in-law, Harlene and Cindy Braman; step-sons, Tony and John Williams; 21 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his brother, Richard Braman of Idaho Springs, CO and sister-in-law, Sue Hines of Wichita, KS; and daughter-in-law, Harlene Braman of Bushland, TX; He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathie; son, Donald E. Braman III, and daughter-in-law, Geni Braman, wife of Andrew. Donald was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, a Master Mason of Temple Lodge 6, The Albuquerque Scottish Rite Club, The Ballut Abyad Temple, Korean War Veteran Association and the DeSoto Club of America. He was a longtime employee of ARCA. Don was the proud owner of a '36 DeSoto Airflow and a '56 DeSoto Fire Dome. He always accentuated the positive in everyone. We love and miss you Paka!. ELY -- Daniel (Dan) Ely, 84, finished his full and successful life June 26, 2008 at his home on Nettles Island, FL with his devoted and beloved wife, Betty, at his side. Dan was born September 15, 1923 in Chicago, IL to George and Josephine Ely. He is survived by wife Betty; step-daughter Terry Dean and husband John of Houston, TX. Six children from his marriage with Katy Lou McIntosh: David Ely, Todd Ely and wife, Terry, Melissa Ely Martinez and husband, Louis, all of Albuquerque, Erin Ely and Doug Bielefeldt of Eugene OR; Therese Ely-Schmitter and husband, Dan of Seattle, WA, and Laura Ely of San Francisco, CA; 12 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister Joanne McIntosh of San Jose, CA and cousin Stan Reinisch of Chicago, IL. Private services were held in Florida. Dan graduated from High School and the Sea Scouts in Chicago and moved to Albuquerque during the 1940s to attend UNM. While at UNM, he played football and served in the Navy ROTC and made many long-lasting friendships. He graduated and received his Navy commission and was stationed in the Pacific during WWII and remained in the Navy Reserve for many years after returning home. He soon found he enjoyed sales and made a career in automobile retailing that led to his operating the Dan Ely Buick GMC Honda auto dealership in Albuquerque. He had particular interest in the RV industry including manufacturing a line of pickup campers. He was active in both the New Mexico and National Automobile Dealers Associations and GMC Dealer Advisory Board, serving on the boards and on many committees. Also, during his time in Albuquerque, he was active in the community with the Republican Party, particularly the Dave Cargo for Governor Campaign as Chairman and Treasurer; and Co-Chair of the Governor's Inaugural Committee. He also was a member of the UNM Lobo Club where he served on committees and was especially supportive of Coach Bob King and the UNM Men's Basketball program. Dan was appointed to the Board of the New Mexico Springer Boys School. He continued these activities until he sold his business and semi retired to Florida. In Florida, he was active in his community on Nettles Island (an RV Condominium vacation community), elected to the Nettles Island HOA Board and served on the St. Lucie County Code Enforcement Board. He continued his sales career on a semi-retired basis in Condominium sales and tried to wear out his boat and fishing gear by fishing as much as possible. Just as in Albuquerque, Dan made many friends on Nettles Island. Our husband, father and friend will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. FRONABARGER -- Iva Leota Landon Fronabarger, 89, of Stanley, NM, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2008 in Albuquerque, NM. Iva was born February 13, 1919 in Claude, TX to Joe and Nannie (Gist) Landon, both of whom preceded her in death. Iva married Jack Fronabarger on May 4, 1940 and they shared 57 years of happiness until Jack passed away in October, 1997. One son, Jan Alan, preceded her in death on September 18, 1985. Iva is survived by son Jerry and wife, Rosemary of Annapolis, MD; daughter Nancy Sowle and husband Dan of Stanley, NM; daughter Judy Alderson of Houston, TX; 5 grandchildren, Mark Sowle and wife Tina of Pagosa Springs, CO; Scott Sowle and wife Deanna of Albuquerque, NM; Sharon Fronabarger of New Hope, PA; Bambi Alderson-Shields and husband Bill of Houston, TX; Catherine Lott and husband Garen of Elgin, IL; 1 great-grandchild, Madelyn Sowle of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Dorotha Dee Robertson of Albuquerque, NM; sister-in-law Zoy Risinger of Knox City, TX; many nieces, nephews and cousins and a multitude of friends. Iva was a school teacher in her earlier years. Iva taught typing, shorthand and bookkeeping at Stanley High School. She served as Stanley Postmaster for 25 years. Iva was a very active member in the Stanley Union Church, and served as church secretary more than 59 years. She was a 50 year member of Stanley Homemakers' Club, a member and supporter of the NM Barbed Wire Collectors Association and the Stanley Cemetery Association. Iva was a competitive player in card games, domino games such as 42, 84, Chickenfoot, Mexican Train and Shoot the Moon. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune and was an avid reader. She enjoyed history and was known as the unofficial historian for the Stanley area. Two of her favorite annual events were the Stanley Homecoming in October and the church's annual pie auction on Old Fashion Day. Iva was a kind-hearted, loving and generous person who touched the heart of everyone who knew her. She will certainly be missed by her many friends. A Viewing will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary Chapel in Moriarty, NM from 3:00 pm to 6:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 10:00 AM at the Stanley Union Church in Stanley, NM; Pastor James Thompson and Reverend Richard Hyman officiating. Interment will follow at the Stanley Cemetery in Stanley, NM. Pallbearers are Mark Sowle, Scott Sowle, Bill Shields, Ed Robertson, Mike Risinger and Sam Loya. LUNA -- Fidel S. Luna Sr., 67, was called home to the Lord July 1, 2008. Fidel was born in Bonus, Texas to Jose and Juanita Luna Sr. He loved playing, coaching and umpiring baseball games. He was a parishioner of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and helped with the Thunderbird Little League and retired from the United State Postal Services. He loved being outdoors and spending time with his family. Fidel is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Nora Stahulak; son Israel Luna Sr.; and brother Jessie Luna. He is survived by his loving wife Adela Luna; children Cynthia Rosas and husband Robert, Rachel Lucero and husband Peter, Evangeline Mclean and husband Omar Lucero, Michael Luna and wife Monica, James Luna, Fidel Luna Jr. and wife Bronwyn, Julie Montoya, Donna Montoya, Dianne Montoya; and son-in-law Robert Stahulak; 20 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. LUTJE -- Roger W. Lutje of Placitas, NM and Pinedale, WY passed away June 28, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends. Roger was born May 17, 1946 in Palo Alto, CA to Wilma and Allain Lutje, he was preceded in death by his parents and brother, George. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughter, Alexandria; and granddaughter, Raquel of the home; son, James of Albuquerque; sister-in-law, Terrie Fisher; and nephew, Austin Fisher of Scottsdale, AZ. Roger served in the Navy during Vietnam. His love of golf and travel took him many places. Roger also loved a good party. Roger owned his company for 30 years. MARTINEZ -- Eugenio Martinez, 77, resident of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, June 30, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Silveria Martinez; son, Eugene T. Martinez, Jr. and wife, Libby; daughters, Barbara J. Zon and Carl Nard, and Margaret Martinez and Randy Echavarria; granddaughters, Gwendolyn Zon and Jennifer Martinez; grandsons, Robert J. and Eugene C. Martinez, III; great-grandson, Joshua Soto; brother, David Quintana and wife, Frances; sisters, Delia Quintana, Marie McAllister and husband, Mark; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son, Robert K. Martinez; mother, Agneda Quintana; sisters, Consuelo Castillo and Rosaline Martinez. Eugenio was raised in Pecos and Upper Colonias, NM. He joined the Air Force in 1949, and served during the Korean Comflict. After leaving active duty, he worked as a civil servant at Kirtland Air Force Base for 38 years. He worked for the atomic energy commission as a guard, for the USAF as a meat cutter, and for the 1606th Transport Squadron as a mechanic doing vehicle maintenance. He also was a Union Steward for the employees at Kirtland. Eugenio was a part-time farmer and rancher and enjoyed the forest and the high country, mountains, rivers, and streams. He loved to hunt, fish, play the guitar and violin, and sing with his friends and family. He also cut hair in the military for the troops and has been cutting hair for friends and family since. Eugenio loved to socialize and spend time with people. He will be remembered as a hard worker and wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, July 2, 2008, 6:30 p.m,. at French Mortuary, University Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 3, 2008, 9:30 a.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1818 Coal Pl SE. Rick Castillo, Michael L. Lucero, Robert J. Amanda was preceded in death by her father, Wayne McDonald; grandparents, Sadie and Rusty McDonald. MENGHI -- Michael. Staff Sergeant Michael J. Menghi, 26, a member of the US Air Force of Albuquerque, and formerly of Wilmington, NC, passed away on, Sunday, June 29, 2008 near Madrid, NM. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Menghi of Albuquerque; daughter, Isabella A. Menghi, of Albuquerque; sister, Christine Ann Menghi and husband, Gary C. Davis; nieces, Elizabeth Davis and Breanna Davis; very loving aunts and uncles, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael Joseph Menghi; and a sister, Annie Menghi. He was born on Friday, June 11, 1982 in Wilmington, NC and graduated from Laney High School, class of 2000. In 2000, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed in several areas prior to coming to his current duty assignment, Kirtland Air Force Base. ORDONEZ -- Martha Ordonez, 85, passed away peacefully at home with her children around her on June 30, 2008. She is preceded in death by her brother, Frank; her husband, Fernando; and her mother, Anita. She is survived by her children Christine Apodaca and husband Toman, Dr. Robert Ordonez and wife Gloria, Edward Ordonez and wife Anita, and William Chavez and wife Lupe; nine grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews whom she helped to raise and care for. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. SANCHEZ-LOPEZ -- Lucy Sanchez-Lopez went to be with her Lord on Monday, June 30, 2008 with her family and special friends, Gloria and Ruth, at her bedside. Lucy was born October 27, 1947. She is survived by her two children, Arthur Archuleta and wife, Carol, from Farmington, NM, and Loretta Gonzales from Bernalillo, NM. She is also survived by her brother, Richard H. Lopez; and by her sister, Maria Beatrice Sanchez; her grandchildren, Michael Lake and wife, Renee, and Christina Lake; her great-grandchildren, Shane, Ashleigh, Alyssa, Joshua, Angel, Kayla, and Jasmin; her two uncles, Francisco S. Sanchez and wife, Connie, from Fort Worth, TX, and Leo Lopez and wife, Carla, from Edgewood, NM; her three aunts, Carolina Saiz from Tijeras, NM, Vickie Garcia and husband, Roman, from Carnuel, NM, and Mela L. Baca and husband, Raymond, from Albuquerque; as well as by numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and many cherished friends. Lucy was a beautiful Christian and loved the Lord. STELLMAN -- Marc Andrew Stellman, 55 passed away June 26, 2008 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born July 7, 1952 in San Francisco, CA, to the late George W. Stellman and Billie F. Williams. In 1957 he moved to Texas with his family. In 1978 he moved to Albuquerque, NM. He was a truck driver most of his life. He is survived by his son, Troy Stellman and wife Rebecca and granddaughter Kirstin of Albuquerque, his sister Linda Holt and husband Gary of Washington, his brother Richard Stellman and wife Judy of Oregon and several nieces and nephews. VALENTINE -- Antoinette B. Valentine, 86, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1975, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2008. Antoinette was born December 24, 1921, the daughter of Alphonso and Pauline Stomato Bruno in Jersey City, NJ. She was an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bingo. Antoinette was preceded in death by her husband, James V. Valentine in 1989; daughter, Paula Rosa, and son James J. Valentine, both in 2000. She is survived by her four children, Christine Poswiatowski of Sebastian, FL, Allen Valentine and wife Jackalyn of Oscada, MI, Janice Valentine of Rio Rancho, and Diane Jennings and husband Carl of Rio Rancho; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Joann Valentine, son-in-law, Stephen Poswiatowski, and son-in-law, Roman Rosa; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by the people whose lives she touched.
