Maestas -- Furgencio Maestas, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on June 28, 2000. He is survived by his loving wife, Rafelita Maestas; a son, Fernando Montoya and wife, Roberta, and their children, Candyce and Jacqueline; a daughter, Bernice Lucero and husband, Toby, and their children, Andrea and Claudia. Also surviving are three sisters, Lucarita Lovato of Bernalillo, Eutemia Martinez of Farmington, and Luisa Del Real of California. Furgencio was born in San Luis New Mexico, he and Rafelita were married 58 years ago in Sanctuario de San Lorenzo. Furgencio worked most of his life in the field of construction, where he was a plasterer for close to 50 years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Friends may visit on Saturday, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday evening, 7:00 p.m., at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning at 9:00 a.m., also at the Church. Interment will take place at 2:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Martinez, Martin Parra, Steven Duran, Larry Gurule, Carlos Roybal, Pete Tarddei Jr., and Brian Reaquie. Services are entrusted to Alameda Mortuary, 9420 4th St. NW, Gary Santillanes CFSP.

Merritt -- Reba Merritt, 71, born in Las Vegas, NM, a resident of Albuquerque for 65 years, died suddenly, Wednesday, June 28, 2000. Mrs. Merritt was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John A. Merritt Jr. in 1994. Mrs. Merritt is survived by two sons, Steven A. Merritt, Richard A. Merritt and wife, Yolanda; twin daughters, Jan D. Merritt, Ann D. Cuellar; two grandsons, Matthew J. Cuellar and John R. Merritt; sister, Bettye Jobe and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Merritt was a member of the University Church of Christ. She retired from Montgomery Wards in 1983. She lovingly cared for her family and friends, and will be greatly missed. A Memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 3, 2000, in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, with Albert Martin of University Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Albuquerque Christian Children's Home, 5700 Winter Haven Rd. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120. Garcia -- Damacio Garcia, 91, a prominent businessman and lifelong resident of Los Chavez, NM, passed away Wednesday evening after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Longinita Garcia; his sister, Petra Sedillo; and his brother, Tony Garcia. He is survived by his four children, Nellie Herrera and husband, Frank of Los Chavez, Nash Garcia and wife, Ilene of Tucumcari, Leroy Garcia and wife, Betty of Los Chavez, Deborah Carrasco and husband, Nick of Los Lunas; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Damacio is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Friday, 6:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Los Chavez, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Rosary music will be Mariachis by Manny Trujillo. Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, 9:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment will be at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church Cemetery. Steven Herrera and his two sons, Joshua and Jesse, will provide the music during Mass. She is survived by her parents, Patrick Martinez and Darshelle Gutierrez; grandparents, Steve and Beverly Gutierrez, and Debra Martinez; great-grandparents, Mr. And Mrs. Albino Martinez, Pete and Helen Gutierrez, and Mr. And Mrs. Lorenzo Huerta. Also surviving are three uncles, Matthew Pecos, Steven Gutierrez, and Daniel Gutierrez; one aunt, Valerie Gutierrez. A Rosary will be recited this evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, this morning, 11:00 a.m., at Vista Verde Memorial Park in Rio Rancho. Griego -- Max Griego, 65, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, June 21, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Rita Griego of the family home; four children, David Griego and wife, Annie, Michael Griego and wife, Frances, Steven Griego and Karen Griego, all of Albuquerque; mother, Aurora Griego of Tucmcari, NM; five sisters, Clara Griego, Flora Martinez, Anita Dominguez and husband, Ruben, Isabel Griego and Linda Peterson and husband, Ron; and looking forward to the birth of his 1st grandchild due in October. He was preceded in death by his father, Ricardo Griego; and brother, Richard Griego. He was lifelong member of the Catholic Church. Mr. Griego was an Air Force Veteran and retired from the United States Public Health Department. He was a loving husband and devoted father. Rosary will be recited Sunday, 7:30 p.m., at Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Father Antonio Mondragon reciting. Mass will be celebrated Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Church of the Risen Savior, with Father Antonio Mondragon, Celebrant. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Ness -- Bradly Alan Ness, 13, went home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, Saturday, June 17, 2000. He was a lifetime resident of Estancia, NM. He was born to Patrick and Kathleen (Emig) Ness, February 16, 1987 in Albuquerque. He is survived by his parents; his sisters, Sheila and Rachel Ness of Estancia; his grandparents, Richard and Pauline Ness of Estancia, Walter and Frances Davis of Moriarty; his great-grandparents, Violet Ness of North Dakota, Merrill and Lois Larson of Moriarty; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his great-grandfathers, Harold Ness and Voyle Larson; and great-grandparents, Eugene and Frances Roseberry. Bradly was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Youth Group, The National Junior Honor Society, The TNT Club, and was very active in football, baseball, basketball and track in his hometown at Estancia Middle School. He was loved by all his family and all that knew him. Bradly will lie in state Tuesday, June 20, 2000, 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at the Harris-Hanlon Chapel in Moriarty. Services will be Tuesday, June 20, 2000, 2:00 p.m., at the Estancia Middle School Gym in Estancia, with Rev. Albert Hagan of the Immanuel Baptist Church officiating. The New Mexico State Police Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris, Kyle and Joey Autry, Steven and Brady Ness, Robert Turnbull, Jesse Coddington, Arley Head and Cooper Larson. Ramczyk -- Robyn Joyce Halstead, beloved wife of Michael John Ramczyk and daughter of Kathryn M. Halstead has passed on to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, June 16, 2000. Robyn was born in Denver, Colorado on May 23, 1960. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Halstead of Denver, Colorado and three infant children.Robyn is survived by her mother, Kathryn M. Halstead of Albuquerque; her sister, Kathryn Ann Martinez and husband, Art Martinez, sister, Jana Marie Bryan and daughter, Heather Marie Bryan; aunt, Ruth E. Adams, Charlotte A. Baker and husband, Leslie F. Baker; cousins, Sheryl Lynn Gibson, Holly Beth Adams, John Steven Adams, Michael Dwight Adams, Deborah Lee McLaughlin, Alison Elise Baker, parents of her husband, Michael, Dotty and George Ramczyk, Marylou and Bernie Higgins, Dan Ramczyk, Barbara Ramczyk, Stephen and Patricia Ramczyk, David and Margaret Stokiker, Joan and Kenny Lane, Becky and Kevin Markay, and many wonderful friends.Robyn was a gentle hearted kind and generous soul that had a very deep and lasting love for all of God's creatures. Since childhood she had been rescuing stray dogs and cats and finding good homes for them. She had great fondness for the elderly, she enjoyed caring for them and this was the work of her choice when physically able.Robyn attended McKinley Middle School, Del Norte High School and TVI. There after she moved to Texas for 5 years which she was employed at a National Architectural firm.Robyn will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She will never know how grateful her friends and family were for her presence in their lives. We were honored by the privilege of knowing and loving her.A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20 at Strong Thorne Mortuary. Funeral will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21 at the Palm Chapel, Strong Thorne Mortuary. Interment will take place at Gate of Heaven.Honorary Pallbearer: Leslie F. Baker. Terrazas -- Mary Oliphant Terrazas, age 90, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, June 14, 2000. Daughter of Joseph and Sophia Gallegos Oliphant, pioneer Albuquerque families. She was preceded in death by her husband, Humberto, who were original co-founders of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She is survived by her children, son, Bert J. and his wife, Martha; daughter, Mary Frances Sanchez and husband, Richard; son, James R. and wife, Lydia; son, Christopher L. and wife, Kathleen; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 15, 2000, at Holy Rosary Church, 5415 Fortuna NW. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m., Friday, June 16, 2000 at Holy Rosary Church, 5415 Fortuna NW, with Father Joel Gardner as Celebrant.
