Garcia -- Damacio Garcia, 91, a prominent businessman and lifelong resident of Los Chavez, NM, passed away Wednesday evening after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Longinita Garcia; his sister, Petra Sedillo; and his brother, Tony Garcia. He is survived by his four children, Nellie Herrera and husband, Frank of Los Chavez, Nash Garcia and wife, Ilene of Tucumcari, Leroy Garcia and wife, Betty of Los Chavez, Deborah Carrasco and husband, Nick of Los Lunas; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Damacio is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Friday, 6:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Los Chavez, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Rosary music will be Mariachis by Manny Trujillo. Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, 9:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment will be at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church Cemetery. Steven Herrera and his two sons, Joshua and Jesse, will provide the music during Mass. Pallbearers will be Richard Herrera, Vincent Garcia, Tomas Carrasco, Martin Carrasco, Manny Trujillo and Gene Sanchez. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St., Belen, NM.
