MOBLEY -- Jack. Aviator, iconoclast, contrarian, good neighbor, died early Monday morning after a brief illness. His daughter, Tracy Mobley-Martinez, was at his side when he passed into the infinite. Mobley, 68, was born in Amarillo, Texas, the second son of Bill and Maurece Mobley. He graduated from Amarillo High School in the class of '56 and went on four years later to obtain his bachelors from the University of Colorado. He married and divorced, having only one child. Mobley moved to Santa Fe in the mid, 1970s, abandoning a career in airport management to work for a position with the New Mexico Environmental Evaluation Group. He retired in the mid-'80s, and lived a solitary life of few luxuries. If you asked him, he would likely have told you he had few friends, but he quietly touched many lives, especially in his southwest Santa Fe neighborhood. Mobley was a good man, a loving father who was generous to his own detriment and a person who saw possibilities where others saw limitations. He is survived by his beloved cat Katy, daughter Tracy, brother, Bill Mobley, niece Nancy Jackson, and nephew Mike Mobley. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to the Santa Fe Humane Society. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Monday, August 14, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at McGee Memorial Chapel. McGee Memorial Chapel 1320 Luisa St. Santa Fe, NM 983-9151
