BERCIER -- Blaine P. Bercier, 72, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 14, 2006. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Judy Bercier; children, Jeanice Roberts and husband, Thomas of Maumelle, AR, Wendy Alvarado and husband, Carlos of Albuquerque, Renee Morris and husband, John of Albuquerque, Kirby Davis and family, Richard Dodson Bercier, and Rochelle Seale and family; grandchildren, Christina, Angela, Natasha, Taylor, Dennis, Blainey, Bella, Johnny, and Joseph; father and mother-in-law, Elifas and Ruth Santillanes; brother, Eli Bercier and wife, Juanita of Albuquerque; sister, Colleen Bercier of Albuquerque; and numerous other relatives and friends. Blaine was born on April 6, 1934 in Belcourt, ND and graduated from St. Mary's High School. He enlisted in the United States Army at age 16 and served in Germany. Blaine worked for Knadjian's Oriental Rugs for 30 years until his retirement. He served as Pastor at Jemez Baptist Church and other Indian Missions. Blaine was a prolific artist whose talents included song writing, playing the guitar, and painting. He had a sense of humor and a way of looking at life that was so unique. Blaine always lived with a positive outlook on life and believed strongly in a good character. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. CHAVEZ -- Rebecca Chavez, 66, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, died on August 12, 2006 surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Adan Romero Chavez; a son, Adam Chavez Jr. and his wife, Suzanne; two daughters, Tina Padilla and Andrea Chavez; five grandchildren, Lucinda and her husband, Quentin, Patricia, Leticia, Amanda, and James; and eight great-grandchildren, Diana, Joseph, Joshua, Jaden, Jasmine, Jolene, Alicia, and Westin; and one brother, Charlie Corner and his wife, Margaret. HATFIELD -- Helen Amanda Stoner Hatfield, 91, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2006 in Albuquerque, NM with her four children and loving caregiver by her side. Mrs. Hatfield was born on November 27, 1914 in Wichita, KS. She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, A. Max Hatfield. She is survived by her children, Judith and husband, Don Lambert of McKinney, TX, Nancy Hatfield of Albuquerque, NM, Stephen and wife, Linda Hatfield of Roswell, NM, James and wife, Susan Hatfield of Bosque Farms, NM; her beloved caregiver, Maria Benavidez; nine grandchildren, Erin Clark of McKinney, TX, Christopher Buck of Stamford, CT, Audrie Malin, of North Andover, MA, Raymond White III of Bristol, TN, Bret White of Port Saint Lucie, FL, Corrie Auterson of Smyrna, GA, Elizabeth Birchfield of Jacksonville, NC, Wynn Sandoval of Bosque Farms, NM and Jason Hatfield of Albuquerque, NM; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. As Helen was growing up, she was an avid horseperson, swimmer, and music lover. She was a caregiver for her parents who lived with them while she raised her four children. She spent most of her adult life in Kansas, Colorado, and New Mexico. Her children remember how she enjoyed making cinnamon rolls, crescent rolls, and apple dumplings for her family and friends. After raising her children, Helen worked in banking for many years before retiring to be the first mate to her captain Max on their sailboats. She played the piano and organ at church, Sunday school, and Bible studies well into her eighties. A private family Service has been planned. HUBER -- Mitchell E. Huber, 36, died on Saturday, August 12, 2006, after a short illness. He was born January 29, 1970, in Aberdeen, SD. He graduated from Central High School in Aberdeen in 1988. He moved to Albuquerque in 1990 where he was a co-owner of Route 66 Designs and was employed by Giant Industries at the time of his death. Mitchell is survived by his partner, Howard Velasquez; mother, Patricia Giese; grandmother, Evelyn Hoyt; brother, Mike and wife, Patty, of Redding, CA; sisters, Michelle Magnuson and husband, Todd of Sioux Falls, SD and Mindy Allison and partner, Kristi Yarrow, Melissa Mye and husband, Jon, of Albuquerque, Melanie Jepson and husband, Gordy of Sioux Falls, SD; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. HUNT -- Bill L. Hunt, 76, a resident of Albuquerque since 1966, died Saturday, August 12, 2006. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Imaleta; children, Curtis of Albuquerque, Debbie Sharp and husband, Loren of Pueblo, CO, Marissa VanBiber and husband, Joe of Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren, Ryan Sharp and wife, Sarah of Escondido, CA, Craig Sharp of San Diego, CA, Joseph VanBiber of Camp Pendelton, CA, Casey VanBiber of Springfield, MO, and Laura VanBiber of Blue Springs, MO; sisters, Nina Barker of Ardmore, OK, and Betty Wood of Oklahoma City, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Anna Hunt; brothers, Dale and Joe Hunt. He was an elder in the Community of Christ Church. Bill was born April 13, 1930 in Oakman, OK, the fourth of five children. He grew up in the Vanoss, OK area and attended all 12 years of school in Vanoss graduating in 1952. Bill's first teaching job was at Kallihoma Indian Day School where he taught all 8 grades for 3 years. He then went to work for DX Sunray Oil Co. in Tulsa, OK. Bill was also Agency Manager for Southland Life Insurance Co. in El Paso, TX and Albuquerque. In 1970 he decided to go back into teaching, where he taught elementary and middle school, retiring from Albuquerque Public Schools in 1992. Bill was instrumental in starting the homework hotline and worked with the program for several years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and visiting with family and friends. Bill will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Services will be held Thursday, August 17, 2006, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, with Henry Matthews officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. IMPALLOMENI -- John B. Impallomeni, 91, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2006. John was born July 21, 1915 in New York City, NY. John was a good father and husband. He was an excellent baker. John retired from the New York garment district in 1980 after 40 years of employment. John was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Josephine in June of 2005. He is survived by one son, Richard Impallomeni of Albuquerque; two brothers; and two sisters. The visitation for John will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 in the Parlor of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. LUJAN -- Raymundo Lujan, "Pata", age 30, and a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away suddenly, Thursday, August 10, 2006. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymundo Lujan Sr. and his mother, Diana Zubia. Raymundo is survived by his loving daughter, Jennesa Lujan; his step-mother, Esperanza Lujan; and his girlfriend, Jennifer Maestas. He will be dearly missed by his three sisters, Adriana Lujan, Connie Cadena and husband Luis, Letisia Baca and husband, Jody; one brother, Ignacio Lujan and wife, Feliz. He will be dearly missed by his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many other family members and friends who loved him very much. Funeral Services will be held at His Place Church, 5505 Central NW. PACHECO -- JOSE NOE Mr. Jose Noe Pacheco, 80, born in Vadito, NM and a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on August 13, 2006. Mr. Pacheco is the beloved father to Eve Ann Pacheco, and friend Sam Chaves, Kenneth Pacheco and wife, Cyndy, Romaine Pacheco, and husband Dan Davis, Noe Pacheco and wife, Willa Ortega, Amarante Casias and wife, Karen, Theresa Jaramillo and husband, Mike; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a special nephew, Dennis Pacheco and wife, Barbara; special nieces, Nancy Lopez and husband, Leandro and Nora Duran; many other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his special companion, his dog, Charlie. Mr. Pacheco was preceded in death by his wife, Maria; sisters, Josie and Ophelia; brothers, Delfino, Arturo, Desiderio, Ralph, and Hilio. Mr. Pacheco was a member of the Catholic Church, a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War I I in the 32nd Infantry Regiment. Visitation for Mr. Pacheco will be Thursday evening in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Carlos Rodriguez. SANCHEZ -- Sally S., 80, a resident of Belen, was called home by the Lord on Friday, August 11, 2006. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Alex G. Sanchez, who passed away on May 3, 2006, her parents, Jose De La Cruz Salaz and Maria Hinia Salaz, and her brother, Doroteo Salaz. Sally is survived by her children, Beatrice (Bea) Sanchez and husband, Bob Reis, Linda Raether and husband, Fred, Danny Sanchez and wife, Tracy Love; her beloved grandsons, Jesse Raether and Ryan Raether; sister, Vina Sanchez; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to a devoted love and commitment for her family, Sally enjoyed spending time with friends who were part of her extended family. She will be missed by all those who loved and knew her. The family wishes to extend gratitude to all members of Vista Care Hospice, especially Sandra Ault and Dorothy McMillen, for the compassionate care given to Sally. SCOTT -- Russell C. Scott, 97, died peacefully from old age on August 12, 2006. A long time resident of Albuquerque, he moved here in 1946 from Memphis, Tennessee, with his wife and family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Imogene Jackson Scott; his parents, Aurther and Rose Scott; and two sisters, Marie and Ruth. He is survived by his daughter, Anne Scott Leder and husband, John, of Seattle, WA; son, Robert Collins Scott and wife, Helen, of Dallas, TX; surrogate daughter, Patricia Cazier Renken of Albuquerque and her family; grandchildren, David Leder, Beth Leder Peterson and husband, Brian, Kathleen Scott Alfuth and husband, Eric; and many, many friends. He dearly loved and was dearly loved by his family. Russell was born May 11, 1909, in Moberly, MO, and graduated from high school in Paducah, KY, in 1928. He graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1933 with a BSCE. He worked first as a County Engineer for the CCC, moved to the National Park Service, and then , finally, the US Army Corps of Engineers, retiring in late 1966. He was one of the first Registered Professional Engineers in New Mexico. Russell was an accomplished outdoorsman: a hunter, fisherman and horseman of note. He greatly appreciated the outdoors and considered it a sanctuary. The family is told he is the last surviving Charter Member of St. John's Methodist Church in Albuquerque. There will be a short public celebration of life at Inez Park, Cutler and Virginia at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2006. Burial will be private. WALDROP -- Thomas Elwyn Waldrop, 75, a former resident of Albuquerque, died on Saturday, August 12, 2006. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis in 2003. Tom is survived by three sons, Tommy Waldrop and wife, Cassandra of Littlefield, TX, Dewey Waldrop and wife, Virgie of Amarillo, TX, and Mark Waldrop and wife, Stephanie of Albuquerque; three daughters, Kristi Ricketts and husband, Greg, Tammy Olinger and husband, Rob, and Kimberly Treece and husband, Ken, all of Albuquerque; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. WRIGHT DE CHAVEZ -- Edwina Wright de Chavez, 56, has lost her battle with lung cancer. She is survived by her husband, Rudy; daughters, Theresa, Lisa, and Geneva; step-son, Thomas; grandchildren, Roger Jr., Jasmine, Gabriella, Andrew, Denzel, Romain, Kyrrah, and Amanda; her parents, Lorenzo and Rose Wright; brothers and sisters, Ervin, Raymond, Liz, Joseph, and Cassandra; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding her in death were her brothers, Clarence and Steve Wright. Special thanks to the Vista Care staff for their assistance and her niece, JoAnn Esquibel, who took care of her.
