MARTNEZ -- Angela Romn Martnez, 99, well-known to all as Mom, Grandma, Abuelita, Angelita, Doa Angela and Maset, died peacefully and went to be with Our Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 8, 2009. Angela was born December 26, 1909, in Jerez, Zacatecas, Mxico: her parents were Aurelia Acosta and Juan Romn. Angela came to the United States in 1918. She was a resident of Martineztown in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 78 years Jess M. Martnez, her brother Aurelio P. Romn, and sons, Jess Martnez, Jr., James M. Martnez and Roberto Martnez. She is survived by her loving children including daughters Mara Martnez, Emma Lutton, Shirley Salinas, Angela Romero, Inez and husband Charles D. Benson, Rosie and husband Lewis O. Campbell, Laura Martnez, Margaret and husband Sasha Siemel, and sons Antonio, Frank H. and wife Linda, all of Albuquerque; and daughters Sofa and husband Eugene R. McGough Sr. of Carlsbad, N.M.; Mellie of San Francisco, CA; and Alicia and husband James Barber of Cuyamungue, N.M. She is also survived, loved and will be missed by 36 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren. Her never-ending love, grace and enduring spirit will live forever in our hearts. Gracas Abuelita, Grandma, Maset! Vaya con Dos! Angela belonged to numerous community organizations including: the San Ignacio Catholic Church Choir; Church Guard of Honor Society at San Ignacio Catholic Church; Liga del Sagrado Corazn; Las Madres Cristinas; Santa Monica Society; Frances Rezas All City Catholic Choir; Blue Army; San Ignacio Elementary School PTA; Longfellow Elementary School PTA; La Amistad Senior Citizens Center; La Amistad Ceramics and Quilting Clubs; and the Citizens Information Committee of Martineztown. Pallbearers will be Alice Marie Froncek, Eugene R. McGough Jr., James D. Malcolmson III, Glen R. Martnez, Carl M. Lujan, C. Mark Romero, Michael D. Benson, Timothy J. Carr, Carlos M. Schuster, Alejandro M. Siemel, Michael P. Martnez, Jess R. Martnez III and Jaime J. Barber. Honorary pallbearers will be daughter-in-law Linda M. Martnez, and son-in-laws Eugene R. McGough Sr., Lewis O. Campbell, Charles D. Benson, Sasha Siemel, James P. Barber, and Donald F. Lutton and James D. Malcolmson, posthumous. A rosary will be recited Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd., NE. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at 10 a.m. at San Ignacio Catholic Church, 1300 Walter St., NE. Burial will follow immediately at the family plot at Mt. CORDOVA -- Joe L. Cordova, 84, was born in Albuquerque, NM on February 22, 1925 and he passed away April 3, 2009. He lived in Albuquerque until he was 17, when he enlisted in the Army to serve his country during World War II. He fought in the Pacific theatre and served in the Philippines, New Zealand, New Guinea and Australia. When he returned from the war, he lived in various places across New Mexico until he married Esther Jiron and settled in Bernalillo, NM to raise his family. Joe is preceded in death by his wife Esther Cordova; son Joey Cordova and son-in-law Kelle Harrison. He is survived by his children, Josephine Hinojos (Luis), Jerry Cordova (Wendy), Dee Ann Quintana (Kenny), Carol Cordova-Martinez (Chris), Elizabeth Harrison, Antoinette Ross (Jim), Kathryn Felker (Paul) and step-son Juan Montoya (Anna); his grandchildren, Celeste Baca, Yvette Mendoza, Juan Carlos Quintana, Jose Luis Hinojos, Mariela Hinojos, Desiree Cordova, and Joey Cordova; great-grandchildren, Dominic, Leonard, Jose Miguel, Alexander, Joaquin and Isaac; and sisters, Rose Anaya, Viola Lujan and Emma Gonzalez and multiple nieces and nephews. Joe was a proud veteran of the United States Army, was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was an honored and cherished father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He was a hard worker throughout his life and worked in various fields such as construction, security, southwest art and culture, as well as in public service with the Sandoval Country Sheriffs department. He will always be remembered for his resilient spirit and tenacity, his strong sense of responsibility and honor, the importance of his children's education, his candid honesty, and his clever and witty sense of humor. He loved to garden, watch sports, follow politics, visit with his friends and family, and enjoyed playing at the casinos in his later years. Joe L. Cordova will be sorely missed, but will live on forever through the values he instilled in his family, from the memories he left behind and the impressions he made on the lives he touched. The Rosary will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Bernalillo on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 7 p.m. The Mass of Celebration will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Bernalillo. CDEBACA -- Gloria Maria Michelle CdeBaca, age 60, passed away at the Vida Encantada Nursing Center in Las Vegas on April 5, 2009. Gloria was born April 3, 1949 in Puerto De Luna, NM to the home of Luis and Anelia (Padilla) CdeBaca. She was reared in Newkirk. Gloria attended Eastern New Mexico Services for the Handicapped for several years. She participated in the Special Olympics, where she won numerous bowling trophies and was the Sweetheart Ball Queen. Gloria loved writing, listening to soap operas with her Aunt Adela Lopez, she loved to do Latch Work, make pot holders, she loved the latest styles of clothing and wore new colors of the season, she loved to dance and most of all music was her favorite. Gloria is preceded in death by her grandparents; Francisco and Anjelita Padilla, Luis Sr, and Florentina CdeBaca; her uncle and aunts Frank Padilla, Adela Lopez, Estanislado Lopez, Alfonso Padilla, Robert DeBaca; her niece, Mary Rita Lucero and her nephew, Jerry Luis Lucero. Survivors include her parents, Luis and Anelia CdeBaca of the family home in Newkirk; brothers and sisters Rita Lucero of Coppell, TX, Thomas CdeBaca and wife Gail of Albuquerque, Christian CdeBaca and wife Terry of Albuquerque, Joseph CdeBaca and wife Rosa of Artesia, NM and Linda Martinez of Las Cruces, NM. LUJAN -- Floren Lujan, 75, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on April 1, 2009. Mr. Lujan is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mrs. Rachel Lujan; his children, Floren Lujan Jr., Julia Rodriguez and husband, Gerald, Julian Lujan Sr. and wife, Anna, David Lujan Sr., and wife, Mary Ann, Rosario Romero and husband, Bobby and Felicia Martinez and husband Gilbert; his sister, Esther Montoya and husband Roger; grandchildren, David Lujan Jr., Julian Lujan Jr., Andrea Lujan, Gabriel Lujan, Jacob Lujan, Michael Lujan, Sara Lujan, Rachel Lujan, and Robert Romero; great-grandchildren, Amor Martinez, Santana Martinez, Noah Martinez, and Julian Lujan III; his beloved best friend, Rosendo Saavedra; and many other family and friends by whom he was loved. Floren has gone on to meet those who have gone on before him, his parents, Jose Tomas and Placida; and his brothers, Arthur, Bennie, Max and Phil. Floren Lujan was always willing to help or willing to just sit and talk. He was very generous, he would give the shirt off his back if you needed it. He had great faith in God and he had a deep understanding and knowledge that Jesus took him home. He loved and was loved by his family. Mr. Lujan was a member of the Catholic Church, a Veteran of the United States Army, a member of the American Legion and a dedicated volunteer at the V.A. medical center. Visitation will be Sunday, April 5, 2009 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Gabaldon Mortuary, in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW, with a Rosary to be recited at 2:00 p.m. by Julian Lujan. RAMOS -- Angela Jo Lujan Ramos, age 25, beloved daughter, was born in Dallas, Texas on August 26, 1983 and passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2009. Angela enjoyed a number of hobbies. She liked listening to music, going to concerts and attending boxing matches. She also loved to use her lap top. She enjoyed eating out and loved pizza. Angela is survived by her father, Joe Ramos; her mother, Elsie Lujan; her brother, Joseph Ramos; her grandmother, Lilia Lujan; her aunt, Nancy Lujan; her uncles, Johnny Lujan and David Lujan; her cousins, Crystal Miranda, Noah Lujan and Matthew Lujan. BACA -- Ernest James Baca, age 66, a resident of Albuquerque, NM for 30 years and former resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away on Friday, March 27, 2009 at his home following an extended illness. He was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on July 14, 1942 to Santiago James Baca and Chonita L. Baca. He was a lifelong Catholic and a member of the VFW and American Legion in Albuquerque, NM. He loved fishing, telling a good joke and enjoyed reading. He served in the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his parents: Santiago James Baca and Chonita L. Baca. He is survived by his daughters: Cassandra Lucero & family; Sonia Montoya and family all of Las Vegas, NM; son: Ronnie Jerome Baca and family of Las Vegas, NM; sisters: Yvonne Baca and friend Tony and family; Frances Gonzales and family all of Las Vegas, NM; brothers: Carlos Baca of Las Vegas, NM; Victor Baca and wife Marilyn and family of Albuquerque, NM; Jonas Baca and wife Geraldine and family; Michael L. Baca, Lucas L. Baca, Dewayne Baca, Tony Salazar, Michael James Baca, and Bryan Baca. Cremation will follow after Services with interment at a later date at the family plot at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
