COOK, MARY N. Mary N. Cook died February 11, 2015 in Rio Rancho. She was born to John and Mary on October 26, 1921, in Arkansas. She graduated from the University of Arkansas where she met the love of her life, E. T. (Tom) Cook. She was a loving wife and mother and a dedicated homemaker. After her children were older, she taught science at Jackson Middle School for a number of years. She was a loyal United Methodist and at her death was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Albuquerque. She had great zest for life, joy in being outdoors, and an enduring commitment to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband and granddaughter Mary Karen. She is survived by her daughters, Karen and husband Bob, Jeanne, Nancy, Melly and husband Brian; grandchildren Sara, Amy and husband Phil, Jennifer, Shannon and husband Grant, Holly and husband Matt, Cory and wife Hannah, MaryHeather and husband Aaron, Rebecca, and Kyle; an increasing number of great-grandchildren; three nephews; and numerous friends .The family thanks the wonderful people who helped care for her during her final illness. Services will be at St. John's at 2:30pm on February 21, 2015. The family suggests internet donations in lieu of flowers to the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), Heifer International, or the Rivers of Mercy Orphanage in Juarez.

ROBISON, MAGDA L. Magda L. Robison, 94, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2015. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Howard H. Robison, stepson Robert Robison, parents Magda and Paul Reinke and her sister Paula Follis. As a nurse, Magda moved to New Mexico from Germany in 1952 after serving as a nurse to US and allied soldiers during WW II. She continued her nursing career in Grants and Albuquerque until she married in 1960. She enjoyed many talents such as, needle work, painting, photography, and sewing. She enjoyed many hobbies but none more than reading. She is survived by three sons, John Robison (Deborah), Tom Robison (Patti) and Jeff Robison (Rita); six grandchildren Renee Robison, Cheryl Kramer, Cecili Robison, Porsche Robison, Ian Robison and Sydney Robison.

TRUJILLO, JUAN JOSE Age 84, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away February 10, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Irene A. Trujillo of Albuquerque; stepchildren, Theresa Ruiz and husband Manuel, Rebecca Campa, and Rafael Gonzales; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Alecio Trujillo and wife Pricilla; sisters, Nestora Bernardo, Carolina Trujillo, and Lucy Sawyer; eight nephews and seven nieces; a large extended family, many friends, and his fellow disabled veterans. Mr. Trujillo was preceded in death by his parents, Petrolino and Seferina Trujillo; and his sister, Veronica Trujillo. Juan was born in Mosquero, NM March 20, 1930 to Petrolino and Seferina Trujillo; the second eldest of six children. After graduating from Mosquero High School, Juan joined the United States Air Force and served his country with great bravery and pride becoming a Disabled American Veteran. Juan married the love of his life, Irene Gonzales, on May 10, 1980. In their 34 years of marriage, Juan and Irene shared many joyous and memorable days. Juan was a committed member of his community, a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, an adventurous uncle, and a caring and lively grandfather and great-grandfather. Juan was a true American hero to his country and his family and he will be sincerely missed. "In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. CHAVES, JERRY ALFONSO I have fought the good fight to the end; I have run the race to the finish; I have kept the faith; all there is to come now is the crown of righteousness reserved for me. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 Age 73, resident of Belen, NM passed away on February 15, 2015 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Jerry was born to Alfonso and Dora Romero Chaves on May 28, 1941 in San Francisco, CA. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 40 years, Sandy; his parents; in-laws, John and Opel Moses; brother in-law, Maurice Moses. He is survived by his children, Lee Chaves (Melissa) of Los Lunas, NM; Chantel Chaves Carrete of Bosque Farms, NM; his grandchildren, Mikayla, Amanda, Clay, Chloe, Aiden, Xyler and Lianna; siblings, Janice Chaves Rubi (Isidro), Tom Chaves (Carol); nephews, JJ Moses, Eddie Stilwell, Mark, Adam, Devlin and Daniel Rubi, Tommy and Mathew Chaves; nieces, Laura Rubi Harris, Joanna Rubi and Danielle Chaves; sister-in-law Lee Ann Moses Fusco (Stephan); brother-in-law Greg (Sue) Moses of Medford, OR; uncle Andy Chavez of Albuquerque, NM and aunt Dorothy Chavez of San Mateo, CA. Jerry grew up in Ogden, Utah where he attended St. Joseph's High School and was a member of the wrestling team. As a young man, he raised show pigeons, and loved to deer hunt with his father and brother. Jerry joined the U.S. Navy in 1959 and was honorably discharged in 1963. He moved to Ventura, CA where he met and married wife Sandy in 1967. Jerry worked at Point Mugu Naval Base for ten years. In 1977 he moved his family to Medford, OR and worked as a welder for Global Marine aboard the Glomar Challenger. In 1986 Jerry and his family moved to Belen, NM where he served as on-site manager and co-owner for South Main Mobile Home Park in Belen for 30 years. Jerry also worked at the Plaza Inn as Maintenance Foreman until he retired to care for Sandy for the last ten years of her life. Jerry was Roman Catholic and attended Mass at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. He loved to fish for salmon, gather Pinon nuts, breed Chihuahuas, and cook for family and friends. Jerry was a jack of all trades, there wasn't anything he couldn't fix. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy and remain his lasting legacy. On Friday, February 20, 2015 a Rosary will be recited at 10am followed by Mass at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, 12500 Carmel NE, Albuquerque, NM with Fr. Michael Shae as celebrant. HISTIA, MIGUELITA JOJOLA Age 90, dearly loved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015. Miguelita was born on March 28, 1924 in Isleta Pueblo, NM, where she was a tribal member. Mrs. Histia is preceded in death by her first husband Myron F. Hunt and her second husband Andres A. Histia. She is survived by her children, Cheryl Hunt, Myron Hunt and wife, Phyllis, Rosalee Lucero, Lynn Conner and husband Norman; grandchildren, Andrea B. Abeita and husband, Neil Sherer, Jamie Stickney and husband, Tom and step-grandchildren, Stephen Norman and wife, Samantha; step-great-grandchildren, Georgina and Harrison Norman; and sister, Rosenda Lucero. Miguelita served as a corporal in the Women's Army Corps (WAC) during WWII. She fulfilled many roles including: dental technician, seamstress, farmer, homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother. She built her own home, which still stands over fifty years later. Miguelita and her husband Andres enjoyed traveling across the U.S. and Europe. She was much loved by all her family and friends. The family would like to especially thank the staff at St. John's Rehabilitation Center for loving her and becoming part of our family. HORTON, THOMAS CLIFFORD JR. Thomas Clifford Horton Jr. (Tom, TC), the beloved father, brother, and friend died peacefully on February 8, 2015 in his apartment at The Village at Alameda in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the age of 64. Thomas Clifford Horton Jr. was born on November 9, 1950 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Thomas Clifford Horton Sr. and Rita S. Horton. He earned an Electrical Engineering diploma and joined the family businesses of Entranosa Water Corp and Broken Arrow Ranch & Construction as a field manager. He spent his last days as an advocate and voice for stroke victims and survivors. As recent as February 5, 2015, he was in Santa Fe advocating for policy change concerning stroke victims. Thomas Clifford Horton Jr. is survived by his daughter, LeeAnn M. Horton and her two sons, Orlanden L. and Titus Dean; his son, Thomas Clifford Horton III and his wife, Jamie L. Horton, and their son Gabriel T.; his sister, Rita Loy Simmons and her children, Jim, Leslie, and Clair; his sister, Sharron Geilenfeldt and her husband Richard Geilenfeldt, and their children, Mike and Mary. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Clifford Horton Sr. and Rita S. Horton, and his daughter, Genevieve A. Horton. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at The Village at Alameda located at 8810 Horizon Boulevard, Albuquerque, NM, at the intersection of Alameda and next to the Balloon Fiesta Park, with a fellowship reception to follow. Burial will be at the Mountain Valley Cemetery in Barton. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Tom's (TC) life.
