DE ANDA -- Kevin Phillip DeAnda, 25, died peacefully in his sleep Wednesday December 31, 2008. He is survived by his parents, Vic and Lori DeAnda; sister, Lynelle Sturgeon and brother-in-law and friend, Brandon Sturgeon; new baby niece, Kaitlyn Sturgeon; sister, Jeanette DeAnda; brothers, Victor and Paul DeAnda; roommate, John Knox; best friend, Jodi Gustafson; girlfriend, Evelyn Schnepper; and a large loving extended family consisting of a great grandmother, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Kevin was a 2001 graduate of Eldorado High School. He bravely faced many difficult challenges during his short life. Even though life was not easy for Kevin, he still managed to touch the lives of many with his kind heart, wonderful sense of humor, colorful sense of style and his gift of being able to understand and relate to the disabled and those less fortunate. He was deeply loved and will be missed by many. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, Thursday, January 8, 2009, 6:30 p.m. Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held at John XXIII Catholic Community, 4831 Tramway Ridge Dr. NE, Friday, January 9, 2009 starting at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. DUBRUILLE -- Paul DuBruille, resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, December 23, 2008. He is survived by his wife Patricia, daughter Catie, and sister Virginia. Paul was born November 12, 1936 in Lewiston, Idaho, to father Louis Brock DuBruille and mother Flora Jane Macdonald. He graduated from Lewiston Senior High School in 1955. Paul attended Boise State College & Washington State University and received his Bachelors in Accounting and Economics. He received his MBA from Stanford University. Paul played College Football at both Boise State College and Washington State University. Paul also played for the NFL for a short while, and played semi-pro baseball. He served for the armed forces in Korea as a Lieutenant. Paul moved to Albuquerque and married Patty in October of 1981. Paul and Patty purchased Bolack Total Travel around that time, and ran the business continuously until it closed in October of 2008, when Paul was diagnosed with cancer. He loved golf, golden retrievers, to read, and to travel. He is remembered fondly as a caring and strong man by his employees and his family. At the deceased's request, there will be no funeral, only a celebration of his life. ENNIS -- Rebecca Marie Ennis, died Monday, December 22, 2008 from injuries resulting from an automobile accident in Albuquerque. She is survived by her mother Nancy Reynolds of Albuquerque; sister Mrs. Ken Bordlemay and family of Albuquerque, sister Mrs. Michael Francis and family, Rio Rancho; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Cremains will be taken to San Diego, California, to the ocean that she and her son loved so much.

ESPINOZA -- Nancy Espinoza, 62, died Wednesday, December 31, 2008. She was born in Chicago, IL and graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in special education in 1968. Nancy spent 25 years as a special education teacher before retiring in May 2006. She taught in the Chicago area, Guam, California and for her last 21 years at Eisenhower Middle School in Albuquerque. She received her Masters Degree from UNM in 1998. She was a Crystal Apple recipient for her dedication to teaching special needs children. Nancy was an active member of John XXIII. She was at one time the Education Director at the parish, began the food SHARE program, and was on the Bereavement Committee and the Social Justice Committee. Nancy is survived by her loving husband of almost 40 years, David; children Amy and Mark; son-in-law Kerem Ar; granddaughters Kelsy and Lindsy Shapiro; expected great-grandson; parents Charles and Martha Campbell; brothers Thomas Campbell and Jon Campbell and wife Marsha; and was aunt and great-aunt to 25 nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 10, 2009, 10:30 a.m. at John XXIII Catholic Community, 4831 Tramway Ridge, NE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery. A reception will follow the interment at John XXIII Catholic Community. GARCIA -- Lucianita (Lucy) Garcia passed away December 25, 2008 in Albuquerque at the age of 92. She was a wonderful mother who raised five children by herself. She is preceded in death by her son, Christian Campbell. Lucy is survived by her children, Joe Jara, Mary Martinez, Steve Campbell and Edward Campbell; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. GONZALES -- Cherylann Kathryn Gonzales, 31, a life-long resident of Albuquerque passed away in Houston, TX on Wednesday, December 31, 2008. She is survived by her parents, Floyd and Angela Gonzales; partner, O.J. Hinojos; step-children, Jeremy and Adriannna Hinojos; brother, Floyd "Guerro" Gonzales; niece, Lydia Gonzales; nephew, Brandyn Gonzales; grandmother, Merlinda Gonzales; and numerous other relatives and friends. Cherylann was preceded in death by her grandparents, Miguel and Casimera Sena; and grandfather, Leandro Gonzales. She was born on July 6, 1977 in Albuquerque, and graduated from El Dorado High School in 1995. Cherylann received her Associate's Degree in Psychology from Santa Rosa Jr. College in CA. Prior to pursuing her passion as a youth counselor for troubled teens, Cherylann worked at Southwest Childcare and AOL. Cherylann never met a stranger, being a friend to all. She was a loving partner, step-mother, daughter and sister and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. GONZALES -- Clemmie Sanchez Gonzales, 89, passed away on New Year's Day, 2009 following a brief illness. Most of her immediate family was at her side. Clemmie was born on December 27, 1919 in Aragon, New Mexico and was raised by her Aunt Priscilla in Belen. She attended Belen High School where she was a member of the girls' basketball team, graduating in 1939. Clemmie and Fred met in 1942 and were married the following year in Seattle, Washington, where he was employed as a machinist for Todd Shipyards. After the birth of the first two of their children, they returned to New Mexico where they were employed at Sandia National Laboratories until their retirements, raising three more children along the way. In accordance with her wishes, the immediate family will hold a private memorial Mass and following cremation, her ashes will be interred with Fred's in Albuquerque and in the mountains of Northern New Mexico. Those who knew her will miss her independent spirit and her fierce devotion to her family. Clemmie was the unquestioned matriarch of her clan and, at least in her eyes, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the smartest, most artistic, most athletic and most talented people on earth. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Fred F. Gonzales in 2006. Clemmie is survived by her five children, Richard Gonzales and wife Anne, Rigina Wright and husband Roger, Aaron Gonzales, Maria Thompson, all of Albuquerque, Dan Gonzales and wife Rae of Abiquiu, NM; four grandchildren, Anndee Wright Brown and husband Kirk, Nashaun Thompson, Ellen Gonzales and husband Paul Gutierrez, and Marcos Gonzales and wife Betty Estrada, all of Albuquerque; six great grandchildren, Beau Brown, Rhea and Rozlyn Gallegos, Julian Gonzales, and Tiger and Lance Gutierrez. GONZALES -- Mary Ann Gonzales y Ramos passed away on January 2, 2009, peacefully at her residence with her husband at her side. Mary Ann was born December 16, 1932 in El Paso, TX. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carmen Ramos of Albuquerque. Mary Ann is survived by Arthur Gonzales, her husband of 43 years; her niece, Donna Kay Roberts of Long Beach, CA. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law: Gilbert Gonzales and wife Marlene, Max Gonzales and wife Emily, and Victor Gonzales and wife Jane and numerous other nephews and nieces. Mary Ann graduated from Univ. of NM and was a retired teacher of the Albuquerque Public School System. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening and being a homemaker. Cremation will take place. HERRERA -- Alberto A. Herrera, age 81, beloved father, grandfather, and brother, was called home by the Lord on Friday, January 2, 2009, while surrounded by his loving family. Alberto was born on November 16, 1927 to the late Alberto and Estphanita Herrera, and was a life long resident of Cuba, NM. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Armolita Herrera; his sisters, Rose Sauter and Cleo Velarde. Alberto is survived by his loving son, Amadeo A. Herrera and his wife Cathy; his precious grandchildren, Amadeo, Armolita and April Herrera; step-grandchildren, Geri Ann Castillo, Jessica, Merced, Michael Aragon, Jonathon Aragon and wife Lucy; and numerous great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers, Cosme Herrera, Jose Feliciano Herrera, Amarante Herrera and wife Elicida; sisters, Evelyn Robinson, Sylvia Romero and husband Gabe; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members, and a host of friends. Alberto will be greatly missed by all. Visitations will be Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. also at the Church. Interment will follow at the La Jara Community Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Aparcio Herrera Sr., Richard Velarde, Billy Sauter, Herman Herrera, Amadeo Herrera, Jr., Dolores Garcia, and Joey Robinson. HUMBLE -- Ivan Neal Humble, 85, long time resident of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, December 29, 2008. He was born April 2, 1923 in Sawyer, KS. Neal graduated from Kansas State University. He served his country in the US Navy Submarine Service during both WWII and the Korean Conflict. Neal retired from Sandia National Labs. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years LaVerna Jean; daughter Debra Wedemeyer and husband William L.; grandchildren, William M. Wedemeyer and wife Christy, Kimberly Hill and husband Dan, Audra Iversen and Aaron Wedemeyer; great grandchildren Erin Hill, Clayton Hill and Elijah Iversen; brother Irvin Humble and sister Donna Humble. Neal was preceded in death by his parents Leslie and Ruby Humble; son Michael Humble and his brother Gail.
