Obituary for HERRERA

Alberto A. Herrera, age 81, beloved father, grandfather, and brother, was called home by the Lord on Friday, January 2, 2009, while surrounded by his loving family. Alberto was born on November 16, 1927 to the late Alberto and Estphanita Herrera, and was a life long resident of Cuba, NM. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Armolita Herrera; his sisters, Rose Sauter and Cleo Velarde. Alberto is survived by his loving son, Amadeo A. Herrera and his wife Cathy; his precious grandchildren, Amadeo, Armolita and April Herrera; step-grandchildren, Geri Ann Castillo, Jessica, Merced, Michael Aragon, Jonathon Aragon and wife Lucy; and numerous great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers, Cosme Herrera, Jose Feliciano Herrera, Amarante Herrera and wife Elicida; sisters, Evelyn Robinson, Sylvia Romero and husband Gabe; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members, and a host of friends. Alberto will be greatly missed by all. Visitations will be Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. also at the Church. Interment will follow at the La Jara Community Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Aparcio Herrera Sr., Richard Velarde, Billy Sauter, Herman Herrera, Amadeo Herrera, Jr., Dolores Garcia, and Joey Robinson.
