She is survived by her beloved husband, Rudy; her children, Natasha, Joshua, Savannah, and Tabitha; extended family and many special friends. ZIMMERLY -- Peter Zimmerly, (52) A lifetime resident of the North Valley, passed away on August 31, 2006. He is survived by his children, Dana and Eric; their mother, Diane; and siblings, Maria Brandenburg and Juan Zimmerly. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, blatant honesty, and strong willed personality. His passion was drag racing but he enjoyed fishing, camping and his career as a mechanic and welder. Rosary on September 4, 2006 at 7 p.m., Services September 5, 2006 9 a.m. Our Lady of Guadalupe on Griegos. Interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

HERNANDEZ -- SILVIA MARQUEZ Mrs. Silvia Marquez Hernandez, 35, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on August 26, 2006. Mrs. Hernandez is the beloved wife to Mr. Jorge Hernandez, married for 22 years. Mrs. Hernandez is also survived by three children, Jorge Hernandez, Leonardo Hernandez and Jason Hernandez; her mother, Maria Contreras, six sisters; four brothers and her mother in law, Celia Hernandez. Visitation for Mrs. Hernandez will be Thursday afternoon at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 1:00 p.m. and Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. by Deacon Edgar Torres. SPARBER -- Toni Peralta Sparber, recently of Albuquerque and a native of Belen and Jarales, has taken her journey home on Sunday, August 27, 2006 after battling breast cancer. A direct descendant of the first Spanish explorers, Toni was positive and dynamic. She was an advocate for the voiceless as a social worker at the Belen Welfare Department, Los Lunas Hospital and Training School, AARC, and the Belen nursing home. After retirement, she continued to be a lifelong learner, accomplished painter, decorator, landscaper, and genealogist. Her crowning endeavor was her devotion to her faith and her family. She will be treasured and cherished "until the 12th of Never". She was preceded in death by her parents, Elifas and Socorrita Peralta; and brothers, Fidel, Abelicio, and Felipito. Toni is survived by her husband of 52 years, former Sandia scientist Frederick Sparber; daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Lew Witz of Albuquerque; and five beloved grandchildren: Anya Maria Witz at UNM, Gregory Eiler Witz at NMSU, and Madalyn Clare, Josef Christopher, and Elias Nikai Witz of the family home. She also leaves behind her sisters and their families: Lita Peralta, Angie Vallejos, and Nora Rivera of Jarales, Sadie and Joseph Barela of Albuquerque, Corrine and Ray Willison of Santa Fe; sister-in-law, Christina Peralta of Barstow; and former brother-in-law, Ernest Vallejos of Belen. A visitation will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at 5:30 p.m. with a Rosary and Eulogy to be recited at 6:00 p.m. A final visitation will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic church on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. SANDOVAL -- Ildefonzo Ernesto "Ernie" Sandoval, 82, was called home by our Heavenly Father on Sunday, August 20, 2006 after a long battle with lung cancer. Born on November 12, 1923 in Taos, NM, he was a lifelong resident of New Mexico and a resident of Albuquerque since 1948. Ernie worked in the CCC Camps before serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He also served as a Civil Service Contractor in Vietnam from 1965 to 1970. However, his life's work was as a Journeyman Bricklayer and General Contractor until his retirement in 1985. He was a member and past president of the Bricklayer's Union, Local #2, as well as a lifetime member of the American Legion and the DAV. In his free time, he was an avid fisherman, hunter, and gardener. He loved his family, and is survived by his wife, Maria "Rose" Sandoval, and their children, Richard Ernest Sandoval and wife, Linda of Royalton, MN, Patricia A. DeMar and husband, John of Corrales, NM, Loretta Sandoval and husband, Ty Menefee of Albuquerque, Cecilia Sandoval, Steve Moritz of Albuquerque, and Daniel Sandoval and wife, Tammy of Anchorage, AK; along with 11 grandchildren, Debbie, Michelle, Ana, Elizabeth, Richard, Philip, Loren, Nichol, Arthur, Ryan, and Kyle; and 12 great-grandchildren, who will always remember him as a loving father and grandfather. He is also survived by his sisters, Carolyn Hughes of Taos, NM, and Rose Stewart of Albuquerque, and brother, Antonio Sandoval of Taos, NM. Everyone who knew him was blessed by his beautiful smile, cheerful optimism, quick wit, and generous spirit. He was dearly loved and admired by a large extended family and many friends. He shone with a vivaciousness and zeal for life that was contagious, and although he no longer shines, we carry a memory of his brilliance in our hearts. The family acknowledges and lovingly appreciates the special care and support offered by all members of the family, especially Loren Menefee, Anna Sandoval, Nichol Sandoval, Sandra Tidwell, and Tom and Carla Trujillo. The family also extends their gratitude to the staff at Ambercare Hospice (especially Delores Pederson) for their loving care and support during this difficult time. LUCERO -- Kathryn Marie Lucero, 84, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2006 surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pat Lucero Jr. and her son, Frederick Lucero. She is survived by her children: Edward Lucero Sr., wife, Karen; Gerald Lucero, wife, Linda; Anthony Lucero, wife, Marie; Arlene Pao-aroon; Vincent Lucero, wife, Maria. She had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at 12:00 noon at Aspen Funeral Alternatives. A Funeral Mass and Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m. at John XXIII Catholic Church on Saturday.

HATFIELD -- Helen Amanda Stoner Hatfield, 91, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2006 in Albuquerque, NM with her four children and loving caregiver by her side. Mrs. Hatfield was born on November 27, 1914 in Wichita, KS. She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, A. Max Hatfield. She is survived by her children, Judith and husband, Don Lambert of McKinney, TX, Nancy Hatfield of Albuquerque, NM, Stephen and wife, Linda Hatfield of Roswell, NM, James and wife, Susan Hatfield of Bosque Farms, NM; her beloved caregiver, Maria Benavidez; nine grandchildren, Erin Clark of McKinney, TX, Christopher Buck of Stamford, CT, Audrie Malin, of North Andover, MA, Raymond White III of Bristol, TN, Bret White of Port Saint Lucie, FL, Corrie Auterson of Smyrna, GA, Elizabeth Birchfield of Jacksonville, NC, Wynn Sandoval of Bosque Farms, NM and Jason Hatfield of Albuquerque, NM; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. As Helen was growing up, she was an avid horseperson, swimmer, and music lover. She was a caregiver for her parents who lived with them while she raised her four children. She spent most of her adult life in Kansas, Colorado, and New Mexico. Her children remember how she enjoyed making cinnamon rolls, crescent rolls, and apple dumplings for her family and friends. After raising her children, Helen worked in banking for many years before retiring to be the first mate to her captain Max on their sailboats. She played the piano and organ at church, Sunday school, and Bible studies well into her eighties. A private family Service has been planned.
