KANESTA -- Andrew Gilbert, 80, a resident of Albuquerque passed away Sunday February 7, 2010. Andrew was born on September 9, 1929 to Percy Kanesta and Bessie Boone. Andrew is survived by his wife of 55 years Eleanore Kanesta., his nine children: son Michael Kanesta of Albuquerque; daughter Elaine K. Baez and husband Eddie of Salt Lake City, Utah; son Maurice Kanesta and wife Jean of Albuquerque; daughter Elvira M. Kanesta and partner Paul Chavez of Los Lunas; son Timothy Kanesta of Albuquerque; daughter Pauline F. Baker and husband Bruce of Ogden, Utah; daughter Rose Eleanore Belone of Albuquerque; daughter Arlinda Scott and partner Brian Zamora of Albuquerque; brother Percy Kanesta and wife Ida; sister Katherine Concho and husband Robert; sister Margie Trujillo and husband Tony; sister Nellie Kanesta; fourteen grandchildren Anthony, K.C, Daniel, Lucas, Samantha, Eric, Rudy, Victoria, Charles, Monica, Mateo, Ashlee, Bryton, Bryanna; fourteen great-grandchildren Kylie, Kyron, Logan, Sierra, Nevaeh, Penny, Aaliyah, Joseph, Anthony, Johnathan, Angela, Trinity. Kanesta Jr., Matthew Girard Kanesta, Henry Richard Kanesta; grandson Isaiah Chavez; great-grandson Angel Paul; and stepson Woody Jim. Andrew will be greatly missed by numerous friends and relatives. Andrew was a Korean War Veteran and a very active Missionary for the LDS Church. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the 8th Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. RICH -- Randall (Randy) Lee Rich, 50, resident of Albuquerque, unexpectedly passed away Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010. He was born on Aug. 15, 1959, Alamogordo. Randy was preceded in death by his grandparents Mary and Angelo Sr. Rich; Noma Lee and Cecil Ganzhon. Randy is survived by his parents; Charmayne Davis, of Alamogordo and Angelo Rich Jr., of Albuquerque; his sister, Paula Rich-Greenwood, of Alamogordo; half-brother, Marty Shepperd, of Alamogordo; half-sister, Karyn Wilson and husband, Dave; nieces, Grace and Hannah, of Albuquerque; half-brother, Miguel Rich and wife, Carrie, nephew, Ryan, of Colorado; uncles Johnny, Mike, Jack Rich and aunt, Rose Chavez, of Albuquerque; niece Cori Duran and husband, Robert (Bob), great nephew, Alex, and great niece, Desiree Duran, of Alamogordo. Survivors also include many additional extended family members and friends. Randy leaves behind his two beloved Great Pyrenees dogs. After graduating from Alamogordo High School in 1977, Randy developed his creative talent as a freelance sign painter. Many of his hand painted signs still grace the skies in Alamogordo, Albuquerque, throughout New Mexico and Colorado. As an adult, Randy's love of nature and animals frequently lead him to the great outdoors for camping, fishing, hiking, and spending much of his life in the New Mexico/Colorado wilderness. His love of animals found him rescuing a multitude of animals. Randy's quirky sense of humor and loving nature will be greatly missed. RIDDELL -- Helen Glosser Riddell, 96, passed away February 7, 2010. She was born May 15, 1913 to Charles and Margaret Glosser, in Maroa, IL. Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband of almost 50 years, Frederick W. Riddell, who passed in April of 2005. She was also preceded in death by her four brothers. Helen was a longtime member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service is to be held at a later date at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Burial will take place at a later date, at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Mt. Zion, IL, next to Fred. ROMERO -- Beda M. Romero, 84, a longtime resident of Albuquerque passed away on February 6, 2010. She was born in Las Vegas NM on May 27, 1925 to Miguel and Josephine Madrid. She, along with her parents, moved to Albuquerque in 1964. After working at UNM for over 20 years she retired in 1987. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers along with several lifelong friends who were like family to her. She is survived by her son, Carlos A. Romero; her niece, Joann Parker, her granddaughters, Carla Romero, Camille Olson and husband George, and Darla Romero and husband Anthony, great-grandsons, Brett and Sean Romero, and various other relatives and friends. SEERY -- David William Seery, 62, passed away peacefully at his home near La Joya, New Mexico on Friday, February 5, 2010. He is survived by his wife and friend Carol; two sons, Chris and Scott; two daughters-in-law, Joy and Keavy; four grandchildren, Taylor, Cody, Samantha (Mandy) and Ryan; two sisters, Margaret Snow of Carlsbad, New Mexico and Marilyn Beal of Denver, Colorado; his brother and wife, Al and Josephine Seery of Bosque Farms, New Mexico; aunt, Georgia Seery of Socorro, New Mexico; brother-in-law and good friend, Bruce L. Anderson of Silver City, New Mexico; and numerous loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Dave was a graduate of New Mexico State University and spent a full career as a Wildlife Biologist for the Soil Conservation Service (SCS), now referred to as Natural Resources and Conservation Service (NRCS). In his retirement, he volunteered with stream reparation work for the NM Riparian Council. He served as an Airman First Class in the New Mexico Air National Guard and was a Vietnam War Veteran. He held memberships in The Wildlife Society, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Rickshaws Motor Club and Route 66 Rodders. His passion and love of life was evident in his dedication to caring for and enjoying family, working with wildlife, fly-fishing, hunting, playing music, writing books on family genealogy and sailing as well as writing hunting articles for various magazines, traveling, and participating in car shows with family and friends. Graveside services will be held at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd., NE, Albuquerque, NM on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Legacy@rmef.org. VALENTI -- Aloisia Valenti, 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1979 passed away on February 8, 2010 after a short battle with cancer in her home surrounded by her family. Aloisia, also known as Louise, was born in Munich, Germany on November 5, 1930 to Luise Fischer and Josef Prinstner. She came to The United States of America in 1952. She is survived by her spouse, Carmine of 51 years; children, Rose Camp of Albuquerque, NM, Dominick Valenti, wife Sandra of Madera, CA, and Gina FitsEmons, husband Macy of Edgewood, NM; grandchildren, Joia Brooks, Alex Cook, Stephen Camp, Sandy Cook, Joseph FitsEmons and Mikey FitsEmons; great-grandchildren Gaige Brooks and Jaylynn Henneborn; sister, Renate Ammermuller and her children Richard Ammermuller, wife Kathleen of Peekskill, NY, Anita Baker, husband Curt of Albuquerque, NM; plus sisters-in-law; brother-in-law; and many nieces and nephews spread throughout the country. Louise was known for her love of family, animals and collecting broaches. She loved to find a good bargain at goodwill for fun. She was a homemaker and loved having her children and family around her. She was known for her loud lively spirit, she had a way of making each person feel special. Louise and her sister Renate were inseparable, they saw each other everyday. She was known as Omi to her Grandchildren. We love you Mom, Omi, Sister, Tante and Hun. Your spirit lives on in us. VREDENBURGH -- Lt. Col. William O. Vredenburgh, US Army ret., 89, passed away February 6, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Georgia (Tillery) Vredenburgh; his son, Dr. Jesse W. Vredenburgh and his wife Terry, of Corpus Cristy, TX; one grandchild, Jesse Vredenburgh; five step-children, Gayle Pedrick, George Tillery, Gary Tillery, Glen Tillery, and Gena Hoagland; 13 step-grandchildren; two great step-grandchildren; brother, Robert Vredenburgh and his wife Betty; two sisters, Gertrude McLean and her husband Charlie, and Joan Harris and her husband Ransom. William was preceded in death by his first wife of 34 years, Mildred (Munsel) Vredenburgh in 1978, three brothers, Fletcher, Richard, and Edmond. He was a graduate of the Baylor University Law School, May of 1955 with an LLB Degree, and later receiving a J.D. degree in 1969. William taught middle school English. He is a Retired US Army Lt. Col., Civitan Pres, Boy Scout Master, member of the Immanuel Presbyterian Church and attended Sandia Baptist Church. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2010, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm, at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Wyoming Chapel. WITT -- Dwayne Dallas passed away in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born July 16, 1952 to Dallas D and Pearl Witt in Espanola, New Mexico. He is preceded in death by his mother Pearl. He is survived by his father, Dallas D. Witt; three children Brandon Witt, Amanda Witt and James Benjamin Witt and one grandchild, Kirsten Witt. Also surviving his death are his one sister, Patricia Watson and two brothers, Thurman Witt and Ronnie Witt. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends. Dwayne spent most of his life in Corona, NM and enjoyed driving his 18 wheeler all over and fishing. YOUNG -- Mary Elizabeth, 79, born in Appleton, Wisconsin, to Clyde and Florence Arft, passed on February 7, 2010 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mary moved to Albuquerque in the 1950's to complete her Master's Degree at UNM. After receiving the degree she started a lifetime of teaching as a Speech and Language Pathologist. Her passion was to help young students with speech impairments. Mary retired from APS Whittier Elementary School in 2003 after many decades of teaching. Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Byrl P. Young, mother Florence Arft, father Clyde Arft, sister Marge Treiber and brother Clyde V. Arft. She is survived by her two children; son, Arthur Young and his wife Jennifer of Albuquerque and their two children, Caitlyn and Steven; daughter, Catherine Young of Belen, New Mexico and her children, Elizabeth and Rebecca. Some of Mary's pastimes included cooking, watching old movies and football games, painting, playing cards with her friends and spending time at the casinos. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. She touched the lives of many people and was loved by all who knew her. She will truly be missed. The family would like to send a special thank you to everyone at Casa de la Reina and to all of those at Vista Care Hospice who kept her comfortable in her final days. In keeping with her wishes, her body was donated to the UNM School of Medicine so she could continue to teach others. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Daniels Family Funeral Service Carlisle Chapel, 3113 Carlisle, NE with Pastor Perry Floyd, officiating.
