WATTS -- Edith J. Watts, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 9, 2010. She is survived by six daughters, Dorothy Watkins, Louise (Richard) Babb, Carol (French) Clevenger, Joyce (John) Long, Linda (Steven) Burkett, Frances Watts; nineteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Walter Robert Watts; daughter, Mary Ellen Watts; son-in-law, Kenneth Watkins; and two great-grandchildren, Patrick Garcia and Jordan Juarez. Edith was born in Bloomington, IL to Harry and Eva Pearl Monkman in 1926. Edith married Walter Robert in 1941. After raising their family they moved to Albuquerque in 1973. In later years she moved to Sayre, OK where she passed away. A service will be held at French - University Chapel, on Saturday, February 13, 2010, at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends and extended family one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. WILLIAMS -- Lawrence "Larry" E. Williams, 94, resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Melba; children, Ed Williams, and Paula Casey; granddaughter, Cherish Morton of Memphis, TN; and expected great-grandchild. Larry retired from Sandia National Labs in 1983, and was a World War II Veteran. Friends may visit Sunday, February 14, 2010, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, West Side Chapel. Services will be held Monday, February 15, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at Paradise Hills United Methodist Church, 4700 Paradise Blvd. NW. ANAYA -- Kathy Anaya was sent to the Lord on February 7, 2010 - born on December 20, 1965. She was preceded in death by her parents Forrest and Phyllis Harmount; and brothers Billy and Johnny Harmount. She is survived by oldest daughter Theresa Anaya; son Nicholas Anaya and youngest daughter Tara Anaya; granddaughter Adriana Hunter and grandson Devon Hunter; siblings brother and sister Daniel and Diane Harmount. Kathy was a beloved mother and grandmother and everyone will definitely miss her sarcastic humor. We ALL love you MOM and you will never be forgotten. Services for her will be held at New Life City Church on 4830 Pan American East Freeway N.E. Albuquerque, New Mexico 87109 at 11:00 a.m.

ARELLANES -- Manuelita Eloise Arellanes passed away February 7, 2010, at the family home in Albuquerque, NM. She was 93 and was preceded in death by her husband, Henry V. Arellanes; and her son, Ted F. Arellanes. Survivors include her daughter Hendra L. Marciani of Edgewood, Kentucky and Naples, Florida; her daughter-in-law, Ginny Arellanes of Albuquerque; siblings Matilda Gurule and Arthur Trujillo of Espanola; three granddaughters; several nieces and nephews; and her loyal caregiver Rebeca Gellardo. Born in Espanola, Eloise began her teaching career a few years before receiving her degree at St. Josephs Teachers College in 1950. She then taught for the Albuquerque Public Schools. In 1955 she was hired by the U.S. Government to go to Quito, Ecuador, to help update the Equadorians' teaching methods. After six months, the family returned to Albuquerque and she resumed teaching for A. P. S., retiring in July 1979. Eloise enjoyed stitchery, ceramics, folk art and had a passion for genealogy. She traced her and her husbands families to the mid 1600's. Some of her possessions and genealogy research will be donated to the Museum of Spanish Colonial Arts in Santa Fe, NM and the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque. She will be remembered as an outstanding teacher; a doting grandmother; and a confident woman ahead of her time. Eloise will be cremated. Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the Riverside Family Funeral Home in Espanola. Mass, at 9:00 a.m., Friday, February 12, 2010, at the Sacred Heart Church in Espanola. BACA -- Norbert H. Baca, 72, a long time resident of Albuquerque, died on February 7, 2010. Norbert is survived by his wife, Lupe of 44 years; son, Dominic and wife, Yvonne of Albuquerque; daughter, Marisa and husband, James of Denver; grandchildren, Adam, Antoinette, Nichole, Daniel and Diego Baca; Chris Poleco; Elyse and Liam Keller; and great-grandson, Sean Gonzales; brothers, JD and Alfonso Baca, sister, Martha Montoya, nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. Baca was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Amalia; and twin brother, Gilbert Baca. Mr. Baca served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany, thereafter worked at the US Post Office. He was a member of Queen of Heaven for 36 years, Knights of Columbus. Rosary will be recited on Thursday, February 11, 2010, 7:00 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 12, 2010, 1:00 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. BECK -- Winifred "Winnie" Beck, age 82, of Austin, passed away on February 9, 2010. She was born on December 2, 1927 to William O. and Thelma M. Farrell in Raton, New Mexico and raised in Trinidad, Colorado. She resided in Albuquerque, New Mexico for 24 years before moving to Austin. She worked for Mt. States Telephone, Farmers Insurance, and I.R.S. Winnie was a member of First United Methodist Church, president of Susanna Wesley Sunday School for 18 years, a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Tau Master Chapter since 1945. Winnie was a loving mother dedicated to her family, Sunday school, Beta Sigma Phi and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert J. Beck; uncle, Bill Cunningham. Winnie is survived by her daughters, Wendy L. Hixon and husband Steve, Debra Montgomery and husband Pat; grandchildren, Ian Nelson and wife Shannon, Robert Hixon and wife Amanda, Brandy Hixon, Roxie Johnson and husband Bill, Stacy Hemphill and husband Tommy; seven great-grandchildren; aunt, Sarah Cunningham. BROWN -- Margaret "Marge" (Flood) Brown, 94, a resident of Albuquerque since 1971 died Friday, February 5, 2010. She was born to Frank and Rose Flood in Woodstock, IL. She is survived by her son, Stephen Brown of Springfield, VA and his wife, Barbara Hammond; grandchildren, Conor Brown of Lawrence, KS, Liam Brown of Springfield, VA, Stephen Doerfler of Pasadena, CA and David Doerfler of Olympia, WA; great-grandchildren, Dean, Matthew and Ryan Doerfler of Pasadena, CA; nephews, Charles Flood of Burr Ridge, IL and John Flood of The Villages, FL; and nieces, Nancy Flood Glaze of Algonquin, IL and Jayne Flood Salb of Boise, ID; Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt; daughter, Denise; and brother, Frank J. Flood, Jr. of Woodstock, IL. Mrs. Brown was very active in St. Bernadette's Parish and was a woman whose devout faith sustained her. She was 100% Irish, had a razor sharp memory and loved basketball. She will be remembered for her generosity to her family members, friends, and many charities. CHIADO -- Joseph John Chiado, Jr., 62, a local resident for 13 years, died at his home on Monday, February 8, 2010. He was born on March 7, 1947 in Albuquerque, NM to Joseph John Chiado, Sr. and Mary A. (Aranda) Chiado. Joe was honorably discharged in 1968 after serving in the U.S. Army. He was self-employed working in sales and as a developer. Joe adored his wife, children, family, friends, and even extended his kindness to strangers. His passion and creativity enlivened all the people around him. He told the best stories, loved to laugh and appreciated art and the beauty of nature. He lived life fully, unafraid to lay it on the line. He will always be remembered for his sincerity and pizzazz. Survivors include his wife, Judy Chiado of TorC, NM; his children, Michael Chiado and wife, Erica, of Snellville, GA, Cameron Chiado of Albuquerque, NM, Angelo Chiado and fiancee, Kristin, of Las Vegas, NV, Haymish Chiado of Las Vegas, NV and Amanda Chiado and husband, Fabio Bozzi, of Hollister, CA; his mother, Mary Chiado of Fruita, CO; his sister, Angie Jones and husband, Dave, of Fruita, CO; nine grandchildren; by numerous other family members and many close friends; and by his little dog, Monster. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph John Chiado, Sr.. Cremation will take place and a Memorial Celebration Service will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the VFW Post 1389 in Elephant Butte, NM. JEFFRIES -- Kenneth Eldon Jeffries, age 60 was called home by his Lord on Monday, February 8, 2010 after a long illness. He was born on July 11, 1949 in Albuquerque, NM to Vern and Dorothy Jeffries. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Irene and their children, one son, Clint Jeffries and wife, Jaime; daughters, Carolyn Podshadley and husband, Rob, Leanne Martel; and six grandchildren, Allaynah and Michael Jeffries, Dee Dee and Mara Podshadley, Ryan and Christopher Campbell. Kenneth is also survived by one brother, Vern Jeffries and wife, Karen; one sister, Judy Lynch and husband, Ed and many nieces and nephews. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Dorothy Jeffries. Kenneth had a passion for life which extended to an undying love for his family and a true love for all sports including his Chicago Bears. He enjoyed the outdoors, woodworking, astronomy, coaching baseball and softball. Kenneth was a master diesel mechanic and retired from Yellow Freight Sys. Inc., which he took great pride in. His unique sense of humor and spice of life will never be forgotten. His memory will always live in our hearts. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February, 12, 2010, 10:30 a.m. at French Mortuary ~ Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Ennichement will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
