EDEN -- Gorden Edward Eden Sr., 87, passed away in his home on Thursday, April 15, 2010. Gorden was the son of Ben and Bernice Eden, whose family 'homesteaded' in Stanley, NM, where he attended school. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Ft. McDowell CA, which became the staging area for replacements in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. Gorden married Charlotte Marie Lewis on September 27, 1947, and together they had three children. Gorden and Charlotte lived on a ranch in the South Valley of Albuquerque for many years, where they raised race-horses. Gorden enjoyed a long and successful career in automobile sales and management working many years for Galles Motor Co. and Ed Black's Chevrolet, before co-owning an auto sales business with Charlotte. Gorden and Charlotte were long time members of Central United Methodist Church and Gorden was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Gorden is survived by his sons, U.S. Marshal Gorden E. Eden Jr. and wife, Mary; John Eden and Jeanne of AZ; daughter-in-law, Susan Eden; grandchildren, Tiffany, Ryan and wife Katie, Renee, Kyle and fiance Katie, Josh and Cory; great-grandchildren Chandler and Elliott, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte; daughter Sherry; and son, Travis. At his request, a private service for his immediate family will be held. GARCIA -- Simon Allen Matthew Garcia, 26, passed away Saturday, April 17, 2010. He is survived by his fiancee Sandra Gibson; children, Maya, Sebastian and Mackenzie; parents, Sam and Julia Garcia; sisters, Stephanie Brito, Suzette Garcia and Salina Corrales and husband Manny; brother, Samuel "Spike" Garcia; nieces and nephews, Sharmain, Abraham and Isabella Brito, Justine Garcia, Victoria, Gabriela, Aryanna and Joaquin Corrales; grandparents, Maria "Nana" Funes, Isaias and Tomasita Garcia; and his Godparents, Raymond and Michelle Gallegos; and numerous other family and friends. He was preceded in death by Jose "Tata" Funes, Theresa Garcia and Annette Molina. Simon was an avid Cowboy and Yankee fan, enjoyed country music, dancing and rodeo, especially bull riding, loved his family and will be dearly missed by family and friends. HAKENSON -- Dorothy Jane Hakenson, 82, passed away peacefully, Saturday, April 17, 2010, after years of fighting a terminal illness. She was a joy and an inspiration to her family and friends and a loving grandmother to her two grandchildren. Dorothy was born in Iowa City, IA, raised on a farm, and taught eight grades in a one-room country schoolhouse. Her and her husband Carl, of 52 years, lived in several states before finally settling in Albuquerque in 1965 where Dorothy fell in love with the NM skies. She was a teacher, homemaker, gourmet cook, seamstress, and later in life, a proud college graduate. She was involved in AAUW Cuisine, Square Dancing, Newcomers, and AFS. Her love of travel took her and her husband all over the U.S. visiting friends and family. Dorothy was passionate about the Sandia Mountain Campgrounds and spent many summers as the head cook for church camps. She was also a member and very involved with St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Carl Goy; and son, Dean Harry. Dorothy is survived by her children Jane Kelly and her husband Michael of Randolph, NJ; Gary Hakenson, wife Edna and daughter Sydney of Las Cruces, NM; Carla Haynes, husband Tad and son, Casey of Sandia Park, NM; sister Lida Mary Sigg of Iowa City, IA. The family is very grateful for the loving care provided by the staff of both NMCC & Andrew House. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Andrew Presbyterian. MARTIN -- Nicholas Ewing "Nick" Martin, 16, died unexpectedly April 15, 2010. He is survived by his parents, Bob and Judith; his sister Kathleen; uncle Bill Martin and wife Juanita; his aunt Beth Martin; and numerous other family and friends. Nick was preceded in death by his sister Sara; grandparents, Lee M and Lyle E Ewing, Mary G Martin and Warren R Martin. He was a sophomore at East Mountain High School were he was was a member of the track and cross country teams, he enjoyed the outdoors and was a Boy Scout. Nick was very involved in Soap Box Derby, qualifying for five Nationals in Akron, Ohio. He also was active in science fairs for many years qualifying for regional and state competitions. Nick especially loved his family and friends and will be dearly missed. MILLIGAN -- Cecilia Milligan died on Saturday, April 17, 2010 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born in Manzano, NM on January 7, 1942 and resided in Albuquerque, NM. Cecilia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was dearly loved and will be missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ignacio Chavez and Antonia Chavez; and one sister, Ermalinda Torres. Cecilia is survived by her husband, Raymond Milligan; daughter, Lorraine Milligan; sons, Jason Milligan, and Isaac Milligan and his wife, Pamela Milligan; 11 grandchildren, Robert, Candace, Brian, Penelope, Helena, Jenahsis, Noreyha, Nikki, Ian, Ivan, and Donavon; one brother, Tiburcio Chavez and wife, Amy Chavez, and two sisters, Carol Borders and husband, Carl Borders, and Leonicia Torres; as well as many more dear relatives and friends. MORGAN -- Charmaine M. Morgan, age 38, went to be with her Lord on April 17, 2010 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born to Billy and Patsy Zamora in Albuquerque, NM. Charmaine loved to play soccer in high school, then enjoyed playing on a women's league. She loved to watch her sons football games and loved her dogs, Katie, Emma and Jack. Charmaine had a passion for living life, taking ever moment to the fullest. Her love and spirit will never be forgotten and her memory will always be cherished. Charmaine is survived by her husband, Rusty; her son Michael Birach; her parents, Billy and Patsy Zamora; one brother Christopher Zamora; her paternal grandparents, Billy and Candy Zamora; and numerous extended family. Charmaine was preceded in death by her brother, Steven Zamora. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until time of the rosary. MOSELEY -- William "Elson" Moseley,(Bill) went home to be with the Lord on April 17, 2010. He was born to Willie E. Moseley and Mattie Bell (Meek) Moseley on June 9, 1926 in Venus, NM. He grew up in the Estancia Valley. He graduated as valedictorian of his class from Stanley High School in 1943. He joined the Merchant Marines in 1945. He met Della Hoffman in 1944 and they were married on August 18, 1946. They moved to Albuquerque in 1948. They were members of Parkview Baptist Church where Elson was a deacon. Elson worked as a pipe fitter for the Santa Fe Railroad from 1947 - 1953. He worked at ACF from 1953-1967 and then was a maintenance supervisor at GE until he retired in 1991. Elson and Della worked hard to provide for their three children and his mother, Mattie Bell Moseley, and sent each of the three children through college. Elson enjoyed coin-collecting, painting ceramics, creating decorative ostrich eggs, gardening and growing roses. He was very mechanically inclined and could fix anything. He enjoyed studying scripture and had read the bible in its entirety twice. He is greatly loved and will be deeply missed. He was preceeded in death by his father; his mother; and his sister Ada V. Moseley. He is survived by his brother Marvin M. Moseley and wife Helen (Hatton) Moseley; his three children James E. Moseley, Marilyn (Moseley) Maito and husband John F. Maito, Kenneth G. Moseley and wife Linda (Farmer) Moseley; grandchildren Ben Moseley, Kelly Moseley, Jennifer Maito, Connie Maito, Stephanie Maito, Ryan Moseley and wife Andrian (Garcia) Moseley, Kayla (Moseley) Blystone and husband Joseph Blystone; an uncle Theo Ray Meek; cousins Ruby (Meek) Bell, Viola (Meek) Purcella and husband Charles Purcella, William Ray Meek; and many more cousins, nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place at AllState Cremation, Aurora, Co. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 8600 Academy Rd NE. O'NEILL -- Patrick Daniel O'Neill, Jr. July 23, 1955 - April 17, 2010 Pat O'Neill died peacefully surrounded by family and listening to the Beach Boys, following a joyous yet tearful toast with many friends and family at his side. "Life is Good!" - A sentiment Pat shared millions of times, but also the attitude he lived with in each moment on this earth. A native of Albuquerque, Pat was born to Irish immigrants Pat and Kitty O'Neill. He attended Highland High School and the University of New Mexico, and went on to receive BS and BBA degrees from the University of Albuquerque. Pat was also an active member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He spent 54 years in this life, encircled by loving family, dear friends and the mountains he loved. Pat was a corporate investigator at Sandia National Laboratories, and was employed there for 33+ years, but his true life's work was his family. Married to his college sweetheart Melissa Richter, she knows Pat as her "one true love" and was blessed to have such a rare and beautiful relationship. The O'Neill family spent wonderful times together skiing, hiking, traveling, scouting and taking part in many sports activities. "Dad never missed a game" Meaghan and Sean can attest. Sean best describes his dad as a "giant among giants". Pat took great pride in being the world's best dad, and was also known as a "loving mentor" by his nephew Keaton. As a scoutmaster for more than a dozen years, Pat mentored many young men, and was instrumental in encouraging both son Sean and nephew Keaton to become Eagle Scouts. His sister Sheila, who was not just sister, but best friend, drew great comfort from knowing "there was nothing he wouldn't do for me". A great friend and caregiver, Pat touched many lives in positive ways, always with generosity, a great smile and his hallmark sense of humor that never waivered. In speaking of Pat, friends always used words like sincerity, integrity, character, honesty and loyalty. Pat is survived by his loving wife of 27 years Melissa Richter O'Neill; wonderful children Meaghan Catherine O'Neill and Sean Patrick O'Neill; sisters, Sheila Ann O'Neill and Mary Catherine O'Neill; nephew Keaton Gibson Richter; and sister-in-law Lisa Gibson Richter; along with countless other friends and family that all know how blessed they were to be a part of his life. Pat was preceded in death by parents Patrick Daniel O'Neill, Sr. and Catherine Murphy O'Neill; in-laws Max Adam Richter and Norma Whittaker Richter; and brother-in-law Keith Malcolm Richter. PROSCIA -- Mamie Theresa Proscia, passed away peacefully, April 16, 2010 in Albuquerque. She was born March 12, 1923 to Charles and Anna Cimino in Sunol, California. She attended St. Mary's High School in Albuquerque, graduating in 1942. She later met Nicholas Proscia while he was stationed at Sandia Base serving in the United States Army. They married in Albuquerque at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in 1947. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Long Island, New York, and returned to Albuquerque in 1956. Mamie was an active member of The Italian Women's Club, Casa Angelica, and a faithful long time member of Our Lady of Assumption Parish. Mamie is survived by her children, daughters, Ann Atwood and husband Charles Barbara Roesch and husband Joseph; son, Michael Proscia and wife Marylin; brother; Father Michelangelo Cimino and his twin sister, Jennie Castro; grandchildren, Gregory Atwood, Christopher Atwood, and Dr. Justin Roesch, MD. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Nicholas Proscia; sisters, Mary Pascetti and Josephine Pascetti.
